This comment sums it up pretty much, also depends where the hot and cold water supply connects to the valve behind the tiles you might need to remove more tiles around it or make the cavity for the valve bigger to re-route the pipes. Some concealed valves have the connection points on the sides, some on the bottom, etc. Also they can be different size from the current one. Best case scenario of you can access it from the other side of the wall, that makes things probably a bit easier and less mess in the bathroom.

Good news is once you remove the old valve you can fit pretty much any type of valve: thermostatic or manual mixer depending on what you are looking for.

I would definitely not call it an easy DIY project, but everything is doable.

The drip is the reason of the valve failure. It can be a limescale issue or just simply an old valve. Whatever part is controlling the waterflow (control unit, cartridge, etc) can be replaced if its still available.

Contract the manufacturer for spare parts advice and they should also have instructions on how to replace it.

Ok, if an article is 500 words long and the bot shortens it to 80 is still reasonable to call it TL:DR, however if there is a 1000+ word article we have two options:

Shorten it to 2-300 words and still give us most of the important details, or give us a two sentence summary, which is the true TL:DR for me, but most headlines also do the same job.

Personally option 1 is much better and I don’t care how the bot is called. I’m okay with reading one phone screen worth of text instead of clicking the link and skimming through whatever side content and ads they have and reading 5-10 times as much.

Call it something else if you don’t like the TL:DR bot name, or block it, but it’s super useful IMO.

Every time I think the game has nothing new to show me they release a major patch, an expansion or add proper gamepad support so I can play it on Steam Deck as well and now this. So I usually jump in and realize how freaking good this game is. Its either installed on my desktop PC or SD or both for the past few years.

Its a no brainer and probably a day 1 purchase as the devs deserve every cent! I think another playthrough is in order soon.

I used to work with customers who didn’t want to share any specifics and asked questions in general. Which product is good? I’m looking for something really good quality, what would you recommend? Tell me which product is the best and tell me why.

While the questions are 100% valid, from the seller/support persons point of view is a huge pain in the ass. These types of people usually expect XY product training 101 for dummies or even a small essay on the topic as they usually don’t want to do their own research.

So where is my comment heading? Just a life pro tip, if you take one OP: give some specifics, share your requirement even on the most basic level. You will be more likely to get useful answers, as people on the internet most likely will not write you a multi-paragraph answer to touch all aspects of the topic.

Same here. Never looked back. Lemmy + mastodon are both amazing and I love that there are no ads or manipulative algorithms.

Now testing pixelfed.

For the past 10 years I never bought a phone for more than 300 euros.

I usually get a new phone every 3 years to have the latest tech and donate or recycle the old one.

For the last year I had an iPhone 13 pro (usually goes around 1100 euro) as a work phone and my personal Redmi Note 11 Pro I bought for 270 euros and not once I told myself: Man, this iphone is at least 3 times better than my Xiaomi. It’s clearly a premium product but a middle category budget phone can match most features and even more. I still have a headphone jack, bigger 120 Hz screen, IR blaster and an amazing fingerprint sensor.

I used this and Hamachi for years

Terraria before proper multiplayer support was our prime Hamachi game. We had like 7-8 people from an internet forum playing on and off through our hamachi virtual network.

Awesome times!

You are right

Do you still write notes with pen and paper?

With so much note taking apps nowadays, I can’t understand why does anyone still write notes with pen and paper. You need to bring the notepad, book or that paper to retrieve that information, and most of the time you don’t have it in hand. While my phone almost always reachable and you carry when you go out. For those still...

Maybe not better than an average person, but the last 10 years of my life taught me lots of handy life skills, like owning up to my mistakes, having more self esteem, showing confidence in tough situations, standing up for myself, having better people skills and to know when not to get involved and when to speak up.

Most of these are basic human skills, but the combination of these can make a huge difference. I landed jobs thanks to them, I made friends and removed toxic people from my life. I have less issues with adult responsibilities and in general I am less stressed.

Again maybe not exceptionally more experienced than an average person, but compared to my old self its a huge difference.

I just got my steam deck RMAed after 1.5 years. Guess what was the first thing I did when It turned on.

I had some performance problems. Suddenly, steam deck lost about 60% of its performance in games. My troubleshooting didn’t help. After that, I contacted steam support. We were talking for about a week, but nothing helped, so they agreed to send me a replacement....

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

My joystick started squeaking after 14 months and the buttons started to register twice while pressed once. Steam support told me they are willing to fix it for like 200 USD, but no warranty after 1 year. It was a pleasant conversation but I hoped to get it fixed for free (I know its unreasonable after warranty) Glad to see they still making some exceptions. Good for you!

I decided to buy my own buttons and replace them for a fraction of the cost.

It just shows how corporate leaders lost touch with reality and consumers.

Reminds me of a youtube video where they are asking millennial children of rich parents what they think the prices are of basic groceries. The answers are not even close to reality as they have no concept of minimal wage or budgeting or even comparison what the answers should be.

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

It works great, but needs a bit of tweaking. Targeting distant foes and picking up specific loot from a pile of items can be tricky sometimes, but nothing remotely game breaking.

I personally changed the touch pad tu function as a mouse for inventory management.

For comparison, I have a few hundred hours in Diablo 3 (PS4 version) which have a great controller scheme and for me it’s the best controller experience of an arpg on the market so far. GD its not far behind, but you might need to personalize it.

It depends on a lot of things. Which part of the world? In Europe big cities all have the tourist part and the “old town” part. If you are there sightseeing just get a tourist map and start exploring.

You can usually get an equivalent of a tourist day tickets, which will give you unlimited access to public transport, sightseeing buses and some attractions/museums. Just pick up the one which tickles your fancy and usually you can get it from any airport, big train/bus station when you arrive.

If you are there to party and check out the night life I would strictly stick to popular spots.

For any other interests (hiking, historical spots, etc) you can find a city specific list of recommendations online.

Also it usually helps to google which tourist scams are popular in the region to avoid them.

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Fair enough. I should add my comment is not universally true for all European cities but to be fair we still don’t know where OP is planning to go.

I was about to reply when the post was not anymore accessible. I was wondering what happened.
