To save you a click its a VR game and the article sounds like it was written by AI. They mention the game’s name in every second sentence and there is no review, just praise how good it is. More like an ad article.

He practically owns Hungary. I think the country would deserve a long holiday from Orban and his party.

Splat is amazing. He is my go-to guy when looking for a new game.

Just a few drops of essential oils into the vents while playing some demanding game and all your worries will fly away!

I will aim to consider buying a game when it has all content included without online DRM

Not sure if it’s not recognized, more like a bit forgotten: Men on the Moon (1999) For me it’s the best Jim Carrey performance and the whole story is so absurd and sad while funny and silly It’s the perfect mix. I can watch it countless times.

One would think the gaming industry and consumers learned from the last 35 mistakes where big AAA titles had a dumpster fire launch because it was unfinished, unoptimized or over promised but no. This is gaming now.

Still attacking the devs and borderline creating a witch hunt is a bit too much. Just vote with your wallet. Or if you bought it refund it ffs.

I blame everyone who pre-orders as well. You are part of the problem!

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

It was the most wishlisted game on Steam, people are actively ignoring all the red flags and blindly throwing their money at anyone who can produce a half decent video online.

I’m not protecting the devs, the whole story is a huge scam and they straight up lied but again:

Stop pre-ordering, paying on kickstarter or buying stuff in early access unless you are absolutely sure you know who gets your money and what you are getting in exchange.

Yes the devs are scum, but does it really justify the cyber witch hunt? A lot of people just hopped on the hype bandwagon and jumped over the hate bandwagon without even knowing the details.

Just fucking refund or sue the bastards. I will only repeat myself: consumers are part of the problem. Stop buying incomplete buggy shit based on promises and pre-order bonuses.

Watch reviews, performance tests before buying. Everything is fucking digital, they will not run out of keys if you wait an extra day.

That mental health and having friends is more important than being in a relationship with someone.

I learned it the hard way as I willingly stayed in a toxic relationship way longer than I should have. I was afraid to be alone, I was afraid I couldn’t find anyone else and I was ignoring red flags, because you know…sex…

It was a huge relief when it ended and I cursed myself for not breaking up earlier.

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

It reminds me of the first Deus Ex game for some reason, the character model, the presenter’s tone and style. Im not saying I love it, but it’s interesting nevertheless.

I personally like all news to get more screen real estate as I watch videos a lot from a mobile device but that’s just personal preference.

Definitely play with the idea a bit more and maybe you will get some great results!

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Yup Ubisoft, Epic, EA, Acti-Blizzard,etc and 99% of mobile game makers are decades into conditioning people to accept this shit.

First DLC, then microtransactions, in-game currencies, live service games, item shops, NFTs, ads, while releasing incomplete copy-paste games so now the apology letter, day 0 patch and promise of a roadmap for a shitty unoptimized new game is part of the experience.

Fuck these companies, we need to support the AA companies, the indie developers and a very few still decent studios who are against this bullshit.

For a phone reviewer probably this means something (not sure if it’s article worthy, but there, we have an article) , for a regular user 18 months should be the bare minimum to use a phone, I am aiming for 3-4 years if the hardware doesn’t fail and Its still getting OS updates.

For my next phone I will try to buy something which can last for 5 years if possible. I hope we will have more great sustainable options in the coming years.

Lemmy needs more quality Monty python memes.

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Does anybody even care? They could sell the CoD name for masses even if it was set in the 70s hippie era, where you fight John Lennon regardless of lack of innovation and copy-paste features. For all I care they can slap the name on another mobile game, where you must buy 5 different crystal currencies to progress and people would still buy it.

Stop fucking buying mass produced franchises.

I don’t think the AI everyone is so buzzed about today is really a true AI. As someone summed it up: it’s more like a great autocomplete feature but it’s not great at understanding things.

It will be great to replace Siri and the Google assistant but not at giving people professional advice by a long shot.

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Care to elaborate?

It’s an oversimplified statement from someone (sorry I don’t have the source) and I’m not exactly an AI expert but my understanding is the current commercial AI products are nowhere near the “think and judge like a human” definition. They can scrape the internet for information and use it to react to prompts and can do a fantastic job to imitate humans, but the technology is simply not there.

Loved it, I’m not a pen and paper DnD guy, only the videogame DnD type of guy and still caught soo many easter eggs and references its insane. Also the movie is super fun and entertaining.

This reminds me of the scary door episodes from Futurama

Macaroni_ninja,

How is the game? The last time I played was many years ago and it was still in alpha, but I had lots of fun even with the poor optimization

Good to see they are still adding stuff but Jeesus H Christ is it still in Alpha???

Macaroni_ninja,

Terraria. I started a new character/world probably 200 times. Music is also bang on.

Macaroni_ninja,

Steam Deck - I know I’m not supposed to promote a specific product (change SD to a handheld gaming device if you must), but after my son was born, moved to a different country and changed jobs my life was rather hectic. I had no time to play videogames at all, which was my go-to method to unwind since I was a little kid. As an almost 40 years old responsible adult I can now still enjoy gaming in bite sized bursts, in bed, instead of scrolling through social media or watching mindless videos. The best thing is I can be next to my SO while she does something else I can work through my backlog.

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Hardly a meme and more like your annoying little cousin, who you have to meet regularly on family reunions.

He has no sense of humor, always tells fart jokes and some family members find it funny how annoyed you are every time he makes an appearance.

When I was in college I had zero knowledge of how to cook so I relied on what my mom packed me and takeaways.

I decided to learn how to make basic stuff, like pasta, eggs, baked potatoes, etc and it saved me tons of money.

I’m not a good cook by a long shot but I can feed myself and to this day I enjoy some quality time in the kitchen.

Self defense comes to mind, but probably there are other examples.

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Isn’t CoD infamous for having 150+ GB install sizes? How is this news? Downloading this much data adds up to incredible numbers, which doesn’t tell us shit.

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Another quick cash grab. The 0.1% or the whales will spend enough to come out positive even when the majority will ridicule and ignore the idea. Then they will cancel the whole clown parade and sit on the earned money mountain.

This is why we are getting unfinished games. If the fan base is willing to buy the same bug ridden incomplete shit year after year then they will do it again and again.

All that matters is the final figure at the end of the financial year. Fuck Ubisoft, fuck EA, fuck Blizzard/Activision and the other shitty companies.

Do not buy anything from Ubisoft!

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Valve is playing the long game, they can only win after the Steam Deck.

Other manufacturers already started to jump on the handheld bandwagon (sadly only windows for now) and once more devices will run SteamOS they don’t even need to release new hardware anymore.

For me the suspend function alone makes the SteamOS superior compared to Windows.

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

Sounds very impractical and raises a lot of concerns. I would love to see this AI trend to die down and we could have regular affordable tech without all the spying and unreliable artificial assistants.

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

My plans are to act surprised, once announced, then not buy it on release.

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

It’s the equivalent to announce a date when they announce the date of the teaser trailer of a game. I mean wtf is wrong with these people.

Everybody knows it’s coming, they had countless articles, “leaked” pre-alpha gameplay footage, so not sure who is surprised at this point.

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

It’s not about making sure to inform everyone, more like building the hype and the legend around the title to make more people talk about it and to justify whatever crazy premium edition price tags they’re gonna have.

Macaroni_ninja,
@Macaroni_ninja@lemmy.world avatar

So what is the alternative? Should we start stoning people and burn witches again?

Police have a function, the governments and people in power can abuse this function but this is not the point. The point of the whole picture is to not trust the police in the US.

Police in the US is shit.
