Physical Server and Content Delivery
Our server machine is located in the United States (U.S.) in the state of Virginia and is hosted by OVH US, LLC. All laws within the United States apply. OVH is responsible for physical security, power, cooling, hardware support, network and internet connectivity.
Content delivery is handled by Cloudflare. Cloudflare is responsible for speeding up traffic, preventing DDoS, and caching static assets.
Object storage, which includes image attachments, videos, and so on, are hosted with Backblaze B2. Backups of the server are also hosted with Backblaze.
Cookies
We only use session cookies that are necessary for logging in and customizing the user interface. We do not use any tracking cookies or scripts.
User Tracking
kbin.cafe does not track user activity on the platform, nor do we use any tracking or advertisement technologies. We do not collect any personal information about our users except what is required for registration and login. This includes your email address, account name, IP address, and browser/app metadata (including potential data about the device you're using as well as your browser version or, in the case of a third party application, that app's name and version). Anonymized browser information may be shared with Cloudflare (our CDN) for analytics purposes.

kbin.cafe is part of the Fediverse, a network of decentralized social media platforms. This means that users can communicate and interact with users on other platforms like Lemmy, Mastodon, Pleroma, Peertube, Pixelfed, Calckey and more. Be aware that we are not responsible for information once it has been federated, nor can we verify that other fediverse nodes respect a request to delete your information.
