Debt to family members. If I pay them off, I’ll have a reason to keep living. If i decide to run or kill myself, then I’ll just be “a coward” and “selfish”.

But I’ve had bad luck my whole life. I hope I’ll be able to pay them off one day, but the idea of suicide has been crossing my mind daily. I’ve been unemployed since covid except for 1 job which lasted a month, and another job this December which may only last a month.

I am out of money. I just graduated university with a Bachelors Degree, and unlike most of my colleagues, I’ve been unable to get a job in the industry.

My school loans are coming to collect in January. My whole family is poor. I’m the realistic example of a poor person graduating with a degree. I’m stuck poor, and I will probably die poor.

I have applied for the income based payments, but I also have 2 other loans that were deemed “personal loans” which makes up the other half of all my loans.

I’m at over $100,000 USD in debt. If I don’t pay it, they’re going to come after my family members who cosigned, and they can’t afford to pay it either, so we’re all fucked if I don’t make payments.

BTW I was late on 1 payment and they slapped me with an additional $70 on my regular payment of $25. This is why I’ve thought about ending it. It won’t be my problem anymore and I won’t have to consider the consequences.

I’ll just be gone forever. But I also don’t want to do that to my family if I can help it.

Do you want it to show matches with people who are around your location, or anyone on the internet? If it’s the latter, maybe try starting a dating community, if there isn’t one already.

You could have people start a thread with the basic info: age, location, gender, sexuality, etc. Then what you’re looking for: age range, hookup or long term, etc.

The comments could be general questions like an AMA to get a better idea.

I like a lot of the communities on that instance, but every once in a while I just get hit with a random wave of toxicity by them for no reason. For example, there was a post asking which communities from Reddit do you wish existed on Lemmy, and I answered honestly saying more car related communities as they are one of my...

Does anyone have a habbit of deadnaming themselves in their head

I keep saying my deadname in my head, this kinda started a bit after a family gathering where I heard my deadname a ton. This was in may and sometimes I will just say my deadname in my head and it feels wrong, it also kinda makes my real name feel a little wrong, even though I know it’s not and I like the name skylar

I’m not trans, and this is tangential, but can both names be true? (This is open to anyone that is open to inform me) I know that being trans means changing your gender identity, but do any trans folk use their dead name interchangeably?

I have a legal name, a former username, and my current username. I’ve had people call me by all 3 names, and to me, I don’t have a preference, it really depends what each person knows me as. I feel like if I changed my legal name to Oka, for example, and people still called me my current name, I wouldn’t care. My family already knows me by my current name, for example.

I’m not trying to minimize the choice of being transgender. I understand that deadnaming is generally used as an attack. I also understand, in my scenario, im not changing my identity, but I could have changed my personality. I still wondered if there were people who are fine with either name, even after transitioning.

Tangent: I don’t understand why existing in an instance somehow makes a user any different than anyone else. Yet, I hear people saying things like “typical lemm.ml user” or crap about Hexbear users. It’s like people are taking the ideologies of the instance owners and labeling anyone in it to have the same ideologies. Where did this come from?

A few Dota players don’t represent the war crimes their president made. However, I want to believe Russians didn’t participate because of the war, and how even being a part of Russia makes them look bad right now.

Imagine if your leader started a war and all you wanted to do was play video games and live in peace. Individuals don’t represent their country’s views, but a group of people from the same country may.

Those players should join another team if at all possible.

I think a balance of liberal to conservative discussions can be good for the general consensus. However, it usually ends in a screaming match. Liberals want change. Conservatives don’t want change.

The best option for humanity is to have some change and not change things too quickly, but in order to reach that happy medium, we have to talk through it, apply critical thinking, and be able to listen and reflect when we receive new information.
