Part of the telemarketing industry is selling crappy lists to new/unwary telemarketers. The sellers don’t and maybe can’t properly curate the lists, and the telemarketers try to make a living through volume of calls.

Reddit is a huge site, depends on what subreddits you visited. The news and politics subreddits could be particularly toxic. Some of the “men vs women” themed subreddits were bad too.

I’ve been having quite a bit of fun with Doom Infinite. Definitely breathes new life into the original Doom.

I don’t often consider that 2 of the biggest gaming trends, zombie/survival and battle royale, came out of Arma mods. Arma3 is probably my “desert island” game, it’s flexible enough to be a FPS, a simulator, a RTS, and much more.

There was an Operation Flashpoint mission where I was supposed to be waiting for an officer to arrive in a Jeep. I waited like 10 minutes and he never came. I walked down the road and he had crashed the Jeep and died. That to me was an important moment in gaming, it was a scripted event but in the game world, and the AI had some randomness to it. That is the sort of gameplay experiences I enjoy, when a mission isn’t the same every time and the open world truly feels like anything can happen.

Remakes are nice but what about new Star Wars games? First person shooters, soulslike, roguelike, realtime strategy, 4X, flightsim, survival, city builders. A new Battlefront not by Dice/EA.

Sadly I don’t have a good answer. I’m almost at the point of having a bald spot on the back of my head, but I think I’m hiding it well enough for now. I guess the sad reality is the 2 mirror angle is not something you yourself normally see but other people around you do.

They did give it away on Epic at one point. But in spite of having such amazing handcrafted worlds I can’t believe how shitty their business practices are.

They have NMS running very well with billions of planets. They should be able to make one good planet. Gameplay is where this game will succeed or fail.

I would just love an option to stay in first person. Make the loading screens show the entire takeoffs and landings. We know the engine can already do most of it because of the glitch when you get into a random landed pirate ship and it takes off.

The cutscenes look good the first 20 times you see them but I don’t need the ground perspective of watching my ship take off and turn left every time.

Space games are one of my favorite genres and they can absolutely be fun. But space is really really vast and mostly empty and most space games are too shallow and/or constrain the player too much. Starfield does have some good polish and stories but is so frustratingly restrictive and non-immersive with traveling.

I have a truck to haul things. Trash, lumber, kayaks, bikes, and I’ve moved friends and family members at least 6 times. It’s a 1995 and it spends most of its time parked though, it’s not a daily driver. And I really dislike all the tall and massive trucks now. I want a bed that’s actually low enough to be accessible.

I’m curious how people play multiplayer games on the steam deck: online and offline. I want to get into them but I am not sure how sound this goal is right now. The only multiplayer games that I have played were dead by daylight. But I know that cannot be the only game that offers multiplayer. Share with me your...

Most games have different ways to play online. Some support local multiplayer (everyone plays on the same device/screen.)

I have played Wreckfest online on Steam Deck.

Local multiplayer I have played Stardew Valley, Vampire Survivors, Brawlhalla, Puyo Puyo Tetris, and Ultimate Chickenhorse.

Hard to say without seeing a listing. If needs to be priced aggressively because most of the demand now will be for the OLED version. The market is probably saturated with regular Decks.

Apparently. I see on the Steam DLC page they have a $65 pack as well, only $5 less than the full game: store.steampowered.com/dlc/2344520/Diablo_IV/

It looks like they are including 7800 Platinum in-game currency with the $65 DLC at least, which I guess is part of why the price is so high. I wonder if you have to use the platinum to buy the items included in the DLC?

It would be good to protect against malware. Bad for apps you legitimately want to run in the background. As usual it seems like a tradeoff between giving the user a choice while not overwhelming uninformed users.
