frogfruit,

Yeah I’ve seen people recommend ChatGPT for meal planning and recipes, and it’s mostly fine for common, simple recipes but it does super weird things when you ask it for something nonstandard, that has a lot of variations, or with dietary restrictions. Like it repeatedly gave me recipes with my allergens with a note to check package for said allergen and other weird things like claiming frozen vegetables take 10 minutes to roast in the oven. It’s useful for certain things but it’s not really intelligent.

frogfruit,

Probably pressured by the church of scientology

frogfruit,

Yes. Supposedly it was Danny Masterson that recruited them. Some of them claim to no longer be involved with the church, but celebrities have been known to lie about that before, likely a church PR move to convince people they’re totally not a cult and that people can leave any time.

In the years following the 2013 debut of Adult Swim’s cartoon phenomenon “Rick and Morty,” its star and co-creator Justin Roiland became a titan of the animation and video game industry and a rock star of youth counterculture. Sexting minors (under 18) is illegal in most places, including California, even if they’re above the age of consent.

frogfruit,

You can find the pilot script online. It’s pretty bad.

frogfruit,

After blocking most of the meme subs, I find it a pretty nice place.

frogfruit,

You have to angle your body such that the water drips straight down and not toward the front. It requires some practice to get the hang of.

frogfruit,
frogfruit,

You can probably get it down in one sitting. Just make sure you can get the angle right before actually going so you don’t end up with an infection.

frogfruit,

About once a week. We’re more concerned about the impact on our waist lines than our finances.

One thing we try to do to save money is to order meals for leftovers. As an example, a $14 burger will almost always be one meal, while a $14 Thai curry typically lasts for 3 meals or more. Even within specific restaurants, bowls or plates offer more bang for your buck than sandwich entrees.

We also often roast vegetables or other side dishes in the oven while waiting for delivery, mainly for health but it’s also typically cheaper.

frogfruit,

Yeah you really have to block the annoying communities. I did have to do that on Reddit too as well though. And subscribe to some nice stuff so you have a good home feed to look at when All isn’t working for you.

frogfruit,

No, I’m not a chatbot. I’m here to help with any questions or topics you’d like to discuss.

I just wish you could do it while browsing all rather than clicking into the post.

I don’t see that option?

People who keep journals or diaries, do you hand write or type?

I am looking to start getting into this. But I have never enjoyed writing. I also feel a little iffy knowing that my diaries are sitting around somewhere in my room and my family can find it at any moment. If I were to type it would be faster, more secure as I can encrypt it, and it would not get lost as easily as I can upload...

frogfruit,

I have been typing my journals for over a decade. If you don’t have a fondness for handwriting, then it will not make you feel any better. I find it frustrating to write by hand. It’s significantly slower than my thoughts, it adds more clutter, it’s less convenient, it cramps my hand, and you lose out on the ability to search your notes to help you remember events or check your progress. You don’t have to use a fancy journaling app if you don’t want to. I just use Google docs.

frogfruit,

Use habit stacking to make it part of your routine. Just start doing it after you brush your teeth or whatever in the evening. You can also set a reminder with Google tasks or whatever your preferred app is.

frogfruit,

I thought that too. I bought a rocket book to make it super easy to scan and organize. But I never bothered to actually scan anything. It’s just one of those things I will never get around to, so I just switched back to typing. Idk maybe ymmv if you don’t have really bad ADHD like I do 🤷

Impossible nuggets are pretty wild (kbin.social)

I had them air fried before, and if you really inspect them and think about it you can tell they aren't chicken (from the texture but the taste is identical IMO). But I had them fried in a deep fryer this weekend and they were indistinguishable from real chicken nuggets. I am flexitarian so it's not like I haven't eaten a...

frogfruit,

Do they make vegan ones now or do they all still have eggs?

frogfruit,

This term has been around for decades and still, very few people know what it means. As someone who eats 0 animal products 90+% of the time, it’s just easier to say “mostly vegan.”

Some people will nitpick and say that I mean plant based instead of vegan but the general public knows what vegan means and do not think of plant based as synonymous with “vegan in diet only” so I’ll continue to use what doesn’t require a ton of explanation.

frogfruit,

Ah, that’s good to know. It seems their vegan products have “vegan” printed on the front label, so I’ll have to keep an eye out in case they decide to carry them in the US.

frogfruit, (edited )

Yes, a flexitarian is a part-time veg but still sometimes eats animal products. A vegan does not consume or use any animal products for ethical reasons. If you consume a vegan diet but still buy animal products to wear, clean with, etc, then you consume a plant-based diet but are not technically vegan.

The problem with saying plant-based is that it implies “based on plants” with no rigid definition. Some people think it means “vegetarian but not vegan” or just “mostly plants.” I have even seen products that contain animal products that I am allergic to marketed as “plant-based,” so it’s just not a good term for me.

Texas city strictly limits water consumption as thousands across state face water shortages (www.cbsnews.com)

A small Texas city west of Austin remains under tight water restrictions amid a significant drought. After days of being at the highest emergency level for water conservation, officials said Monday that those restrictions have only slightly been loosened, limiting water consumption to “indoor use only” until further notice.

frogfruit,

Water restrictions vary by city, but landscape irrigation is indeed restricted. Usually they go up to stage 4, which typically limits to watering once a week or once every 2 weeks.

Apparently stage 5 is defined by the city as indoor use only: kvue.com/…/269-22171b66-f29b-4e1a-b57a-9e434ecf34…

Blanco county is currently at stage 3, which limits watering from 7-10 AM or PM and not at all on non-watering weeks. txwaterco.com/…/blanco-county-drought-conditions

Interestingly, they include hand watering in the restrictions. My city has designated days and times you are allowed to water, but hand watering is allowed at any time.

frogfruit,

The city is saying no outdoor use at all: m.facebook.com/blancocityhall?fref=nf&ref=embed_p…

frogfruit,

Typically, yes. They issue citations and increasing levels of fines for each violation, and they disconnect your water if you don’t respond or pay in a timely manner. How quickly they respond to reports and how often they issue citations varies by city. Some cities even employ patrol units to enforce violations during severe drought conditions. Some cities aren’t giving out warnings at all anymore but going straight to citations/fines.

frogfruit,

That would be extreme even for Texas. Texas has laws in place to prevent HOAs from prohibiting water conservation efforts such as xeriscaping, growing native grasses instead of exotic, rain barrels, etc. Most of Texas undergoes drought restrictions already. If we didn’t, we would certainly run out of water. Banning water conservation would be stupid even by Texas standards.

Granted, Texas also does stupid shit such as restricting water usage in communities while pumping out that same water to sell to 3rd parties.

frogfruit,

You can wear masks any time you are sick to avoid spreading it. It’s not just about COVID.

frogfruit,

Congrats on being in a position to be able to do that.

I do not see a way to hide them on mobile.

frogfruit,

I have PMDD and dysmenorrhea. My ADHD meds are virtually ineffective during my period, and between the depression, pain, and fatigue, I am not able to get much done at all during my period. I have not responded well to antidepressants or birth control.

There are a few things that somewhat help - exercise, raspberry leaf tea, blackstrap molasses, eating clean, Epsom salt baths, Midol. I still spend the majority of the time glued to the couch with a heatpad. I can sometimes get a few things done with a portable heatpad but still not much.

Those are song lyrics. She Don’t Use Jelly by The Flaming Lips

frogfruit,

My school taught it as “30 days hath September, April, June, and November. All the rest have 31, except the second month alone.”

Anyone else unable to listen to music with lyrics?

Every time a song goes on, I can’t focus on anything else because I feel the lyrics going into my brain and replacing my thoughts with other words. Especially if I’m trying to do homework or coding. So because of this, I only listen to classical music or the instrumental tracks of modern songs I do like. My sister thinks...

frogfruit,

I basically only listen to music when showering or doing chores. Even without lyrics, it’s too distracting.

frogfruit,

Same for me. The list of drugs I tried for depression/anxiety before I got diagnosed with ADHD is very long. Treating the ADHD works better for me than any antidepressant. Most of my depressive episodes these days occur when I stop taking my ADHD meds.

What video game have you played the most, that you think is garbage and no one else should ever play?

I have played Eve Online so many hours, and it’s a bad game. Don’t do it. you will spend hundreds of hours dreaming about the cool thing you’ll do later, but for 99% of players the cool thing will never happen. You will be part of the one percent’s cool thing....

frogfruit,

Ooh thank you. It’s on Humble Choice but I’m prone to microtransaction addictions so I think I’ll skip this one.
