It’s no secret I’m on the misanthropy spectrum, but as such a person you could say that about, I wanted to ask this ever since hearing this conveyed in response to recent events which sees three spheres of influence now arguably possessing the potential to deliver on such promises. Like… what’s the deal?
I mean, cultures generally don’t declare war, but leaderships of countries do.
I don’t expect people to abandon their culture because their home country’s current government is doing messed up stuff.
But I will hate on people who support governments that declare unjust wars. But that’s hating people for their politics, which I think has always been fine.

Not at the level where I could make photorealistic portraits, but I’ve always been envious of those who are able to scetch something together in a few minutes that perfectly captures what they want to convey. Sometimes words aren’t enough to express what I want to say, and...
I spent an hour a day for a month trying to draw just the same character following a tutorial.
I wasn’t a master, but the difference between “I look like a child scribbling” and “person who looks like they need more practice” really was just a month it felt like.
Why? By all measures the world is better decade after decade.
Poverty is down, famine is down, average life expectancy is up. NATO and MAD are doing their job and no world War 3 has broken out, and given how support of NATO is enough to make Russia unable to conquer Ukraine, so they certainly aren’t a global threat.
We have the technology to fix any problem we currently have, and past trends say we will do it, just takes some time.
But why? Nothing is crazier than what we’ve dealt with. Technology has proven able to beat basically all the old horsemen of the apocalypse except war, and Russia being stuck just to the edges of Ukraine seems to show that world War 3 isn’t around the corner.
Something bad is always happening, but less of it is happening now than ever thanks to good people doing good work.
My room mates/tenants in my basement spotted 2 bed bugs and we have gone full nuclear on them because we are all terrified of them. Like they’ve replaced everything soft, rubbed the sprays into the carpet, and I made a salt circle with d earth around their entrance.
We also keep quoting aliens (nuke it from orbit, only way to he safe) and Starship troopers.
For me personally, trams are right up there. Aside from the main issue of sharing the roads instead of having a dedicated line, they really make it easy to get from one part of a city to another, especially for wheelchair users. They’re usually as frequent as buses, but much faster. The stations are much more attractive...
