Today, I took care of several overdue formalities related to the project that were weighing on me. Besides the routine refactoring and work on the ActivityPub module, there are a few things I would like to do this weekend:...
Personally, I’ve been getting a lot of ‘too many requests’ errors when I try to upvote and then boost a post or thread too quickly after one another. I’m on iOS, using Safari.

I’m in the same boat, and I’ve learned that the answer is I don’t want the smell of burning eyeball lingering in my mind no matter how well I see afterwards.
Bruh, my only vehicle for close to two years was a truck that I inherited, a 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 LS. I believe it got about 8mpg on average, but I dealt with it because I didn’t have any other way to get a different vehicle at the time.
Nowadays I drive a 2018 Ford Fiesta SE. The difference is night and day. Stops on a dime, accelerates quickly, I can fit it anywhere I want, and it gets an average of 34mpg. I went from paying between $75 to $125 every week and a half for gas to spending about $30 over the same time period.

I know a lot of folks don’t like it for a multitude of reasons, but it works well for me. I take it about an hour before I get to work and I’m actually able to focus on work as opposed to why I don’t wanna be there. It’s great. Also helps that my job is pretty great overall, but being able to focus on actually getting up and doing stuff is great.
I can’t even imagine what other folks go through. I’m a white, straight, married, male, and I honestly have it tough. It pains me to know that, in the grand scheme of things, I have it easy.
Lately? I don’t. Uber, DoorDash, all of ‘em can’t bother to pay people what they’re worth, meanwhile customers are overcharged for literally everything.
Furthermore, my experience in Austin, TX is that drivers can’t bother to actually read delivery instructions… or can’t because they can’t read English. This is fine, but translation apps exist and 9/10 drivers just can’t be bothered.
My experience is also that, half the time, drivers can’t be bothered to actually double check whether the restaurant actually bothered to give them everything I ordered, or they’re taking shit for themselves because they aren’t getting paid enough. Whatever, that’s fine, most of the time Uber Eats would refund the stuff that was missing… right up until they stopped outright. I got tired of paying for food I straight up wasn’t getting.
Never mind that Uber seems to be going out of their way to avoid paying anyone a living wage or even call the drivers employees in the first place.
It’s just not worth it. I take less time to get the food myself anyway, and spend less doing it.
Seems pointless and inconvenient for me as they usually seem to be poor quality, and can you really listen to music in the shower, and are you showering long enough to benefit from it?...
If Musk fulfils just 15 percent of Cybertruck preorders, it would equal the annual unit sales of Toyota. If the polarizing EV flops, Tesla could be in big trouble.
Just… being lazy. Like, the clothes are washed and dried, but they stay in the basket and never get put up. I put chores off a lot. There’s a certain anxiety I have about stuff, like I’m worried it’ll take forever or take a lot of effort. It never does, and it always works out better, but that anxiety stops me every time.
After repeated data breaches that no company really seems to give a s— about my phone is blowing up with literally hundreds of spam calls and texts month. I get and make MAAAAYBE 2 or 3 important calls per month, 180-200 of the rest are literally all spam. Anyone have any suggestions, apps ect that they have found refuge with?...
I know they don’t have the best reputation, but Truecaller’s ‘Voice Assistant’ feature has been a godsend for me. The basic bot answers calls from unknown numbers and transcribes their response before ringing, and only if they don’t hang up. I’ll look at my phone to see I have a few missed calls from unknown numbers, only to find that Truecaller intercepted them all and they hung up once they heard the message that the call was being screened. It’s great.
Folks that call for legitimate reasons that aren’t in my contacts generally leave a message and I get the call once they’ve left it. Folks that are in my contacts ring as normal.
If you use the truck as a truck, it’s fine. I’ve got a cousin that has a giant truck… to haul his camping trailer that fits him, his wife, and their FIVE kids. The daily driver is a hybrid SUV, again, for five kids.
My wife and I, just the two of us, have a little Ford Fiesta. It’s perfect for us, and honestly we could deal with something smaller if we had the money for it, but the Fiesta was the right price at the right time.
Tesla has filed a lawsuit against the Swedish state via Sweden’s Transport Agency after striking postal workers in the Scandinavian country stopped delivering license plates for new vehicles manufactured by the Texas-based automaker
Got a job that doesn’t suck and has allowed me to grow as a person. I do wish it’d pay more, but I no longer dread life and actually get excited to go in to the office.
Years ago I got one of those iRig guitar input jacks for my iPhone. Having a wealth of tones and a basic DAW available to me for the first time really did a lot to help me expand my playing ability.
I’m really excited to start working with the engineers at work to learn how to rework the broken boards that go in the products we produce. I don’t know much about electronics and I’ve certainly never been to college, but I’ve apparently displayed an aptitude for understanding stuff so they wanna work with me to get the ball rolling. They’ve been able to convince management that my bench in the RMA department needs all the equipment a rework station should have. It’s all super exciting and I can’t wait to start.
