I feel the same. He was a beloved icon of comedy and “speaking truth to power” and now he’s just an old man who sees no problem with NIMBYism and gay bashing.
Pride of Bagdhad is a great little one shot comic. About Lions escaped from a zoo in a warzone. The giraffe getting his head blown off is pretty effed but also hilarious.
Played through coop recently with a friend who’s also a series fan. The game is a bloated disaster. Too many reused assets, useless mechanics and a real icky feeling that all EA games have that they were designed by committee.
Out of all the apps that started after the migration, this one has come the farthest and it’s still improving. It’s probably the best Free Lemmy app out there....
The Venture Capital Well is running dry, tech companies are turtling up their data so other tech companies dont use AI to scrape all their content… its the 12th hour of the tech bubble and they’re all scrambling to become real companies that make, you know, money. Problem is they dont know how, and customers dont want to pay them for the garbage they used to tolerate when it was free.

I steal time constantly and no one seems to notice or care. Take a two hour lunch break, leave early and punch out electronically hours later… I get paid nothing but at least I can spend more time with my family and videogames.

yeah honestly the fraction of a cent I’d get negotiated wouldn’t make a dent in my life. I’d much rather we as a collective hold companies accountable for selling off our data. Politicians too; they’re all trying squeeze us for everything they can, and we consent by being apathetic.
Manufacturing here. We dont have a trained QC person looking at our units before sending them to the customer. Its just some guy that checks physical dimensions. We have electronics that comes in for RMA and never gets retested on its way out. Most of our customers dont install the pieces for months so the process control gets muddied by time. Literally everyone in our company knows this. We just got our ISO 9000 cert anyway, because no one really cares about doing things right. We just put untested parts in shit and cross our fingers.
Minnesotans are now able to legally possess and grow their own marijuana for recreational purposes, after the Minnesota Legislature approved a 300-page bill earlier this year, and Gov. Tim Walz signed it into law shortly thereafter. It became official Tuesday.
I feel for the kid, who got dragged down by the hubris of his mom. It’s troubling that we’ve grown so disconnected from the world we’ve built; we dont feel like we benefit from it at all. We can all sit here and shame this mother for being neglectful and stupid, and yet the feelings she had of a chaotic life with no upside…that’s so fucking common right now.

People always flaunt and embellish their accomplishments, especially online. You’re comparing yourself to liars and attention-seekers. You gotta find the path that brings you satisfaction, not material reward or approval from your peers.
