What do you mean they don’t let you have multiple accounts? I’ve had three accounts for years, and I’m not doing anything to hide the fact they’re all me.
I currently use Windows 10 and I’d like to try out Linux. My plan is to set up a dual boot with OpenSUSE tumbleweed and KDE Plasma. If you’re planning on gaming, and you have an NVIDIA card, then I would like to recommend Bazzite. I’ve been using it for months, and I’m very happy with it. Have it installed to my Steam Deck as well as my PC.
This is a different country, and different culture. It’s been in the news for years now that Koreans are literally working themselves to death. To the point they just fall over and die. There’s been many protests trying to get the government to step in and change things, but so far capitalism has done its thing and people are still dying. If they don’t keep working, they lose their livelihoods. Some people work 80 hour work weeks in dangerous conditions, just to barely afford an apartment not much bigger than a closet. There’s no other option for them, except to starve.
If you want more context, there’s quite a few good documentaries on YouTube about the issue.
The mission-driven tech company behind the Firefox browser, Pocket reader and other apps is now investing its energy into the so-called “fediverse” — a collection of decentralized social networking applications, like Mastodon, that communicate with one another over the ActivityPub protocol.
Three percent of all browsers is a fuckton of users, considering that includes mobile users who are going to be less likely to change their browser then desktop users. There is an estimated 6.92 billion smartphone users. Three percent of that is more users than there are people in the United States.
Because the dark mode that’s built into Firefox and other browsers sends requests to websites that can identify you. If you want dark mode on Librewolf, do as the devs recommend and get Dark Reader, as that’s clientside and doesn’t identify you, and works with pretty much every website, including ones that don’t offer a dark version.
I use regular Firefox, and I have the default dark mode disabled and Dark Reader installed. I don’t need to ask permission from websites to use dark mode any more than I need to ask Google for permission to block their ads.
Like I said, it doesn’t look good on every website, but for the vast majority it’s a really nice experience, especially if you are often online after dark. It’s definitely earned the high ratings it’s got, and it’s 100% getting downloaded anytime I use a new computer.
Besides the enhanced privacy it gives you, there’s also the fact that it doesn’t require loading additional style sheets, so it saves you a very small amount of bandwidth and time.
Yes, that’s one of the data points they use to fingerprint you. They only need several to get a reliable idea of who you are as you move from site to site.
Sen. Tommy Tuberville, who is blocking hundreds of military nominations, bemoaned the fact that the military is "struggling" to fill its personnel needs.
Oh, poor Israelis, all they were doing was conducting a genocide of an entire people for 75 years, all this death is totally unwarranted!
I refuse to feel sorry for any Israeli killed by anyone, so long as they’re hellbent on wiping Arabs off the planet. Those babies that were killed were just future IDF soldiers, waiting for their chance to put a boot on a Palestinian neck and a bullet in their brain.
Idk about suicide bombers, but I do know that the deadliest act of aviation terrorism up till 9/11 was at the hands of Canadian Sihk terrorists on behalf of the Sihk militant group Babbar Khalsa. Not to mention, there have been instances of violence from Buddhist nationalists in Sri Lanka against Muslim minorities. There are also many, many, many, many instances of Christian terrorism, and not just in the United States. The Lords Resistance Army has been terrorizing Africa since the 1980s.
There are currently no religions that do not have extremists that employ violence. Religion itself is violence, as it is a means of control and dominance. There are no good religions, and no peaceful ones.
I hope you see the irony of your comment. You do see it, right? I’m not gonna say you’re wrong, because you’re not. But you know what? Hurting your oppressors feels so good. And it’s better to die on your feet with a gun in your bloody hands, then laying on the ground with a boot on your neck.
Don’t you dare blame the Jews for the actions of the Israeli government, you sick antisemitic fuck. Take that nazi propaganda out of here. The only good nazi is a dead nazi, and you and everyone who thinks like you should be lined up against a wall and shot.
I had this problem, but after not being able to resolve it I tried Bazzite and found the gaming experience was much better there anyway, so switched. This problem doesn’t exist on that distro.
Listen, if you are neglecting your household chores or other important duties, then it doesn’t really matter how much time you spend playing games. Time you enjoyed spending is never wasted, and if you enjoy playing games on your downtime, then do it.
As an American, one of the most positive things that could happen to the world is the abolishment of the United States as a government. We’re directly or indirectly responsible for most of the ethnic cleansing that has gone on the last several decades.
Uh, when I first got an AR-15 about ten years ago, I went to Walmart first to see what they had. They had a bunch on a rotating rack you could pick up. Magazines and ammo were inside a glass shelf next to it. You just bought it all there, the only thing they did was walk you out of the store before handing it over.
I didn’t actually end up buying one though, I was given one by a local gun store as payment for saving them about $3500 a year on their IT bill and building them PCs. A nice little mostly custom AR chambered in .300 BLK. My father-in-law took it hog hunting one year.
These dudes are convinced AI is gonna wipe us out despite the fact it can’t even figure out the right number of fingers to give us.
We’re so far away from this being a problem that it never will be, because climate change will have killed us all long before the machines have a chance to.
I’m not saying it’s not a problem that we will have to deal with, I’m just saying the apocalypse is gonna happen before that, and for different reasons.
They refuse to do it because the idea has absolutely no merit to it. If there’s a virus on your computer that could steal your data, it can just wait till you unlock that data to steal it. There is zero practical benefit to implementing your suggestion.
Well of course you haven’t had any issues you could pin specifically to NVIDIA + Wayland. Because according to your post you’re specifically using Nouveau + Wayland. Be kind of strange for a driver you don’t have installed to be causing you issues.
And you didn’t need to point out you’re an Arch user, we could tell just from the sense of superiority dripping off your comment.
Even in the US, a corporate monopoly trying to force people to use their browser will trigger an antitrust lawsuit from the government. Microsoft has already faced one for what they did with Edge, and they didn’t even do DRM.
Besides, it’s YouTube. If you can’t use it anymore, it’s not gonna be the end of the world.

I dunno how fun it would be alone, because dwarves are a race that are all about being together and some of the features lean into that, but we’re having a lot of fun with it. It’s challenging, but not to the point where we feel overwhelmed or lost. And the atmosphere it has is just right, they did a great job taking what we know from the books and the style we got from the movies, and turning that into a video game.
