PC/Linux/Steam Noob here. I just got a game from GOG and I’m seeing tutorials mention Heroic, Lutris, and Wine via ProtonUp-QT as methods to get non-Steam games installed and running on Deck. Which method would you consider the easiest and most reliable for content from GOG, Ubisoft, Epic, etc…
I use the Steam Link app on my desktop to use keyboard + mouse on the Deck. For content from Epic, GOG, and Amazon I find Heroic Launcher to be the easiest since it’s a native Linux app and has a simple “add to Steam” button. For emulation, I use Emudeck, for everything else I use Bottles or Lutris.
So odd that the open source platform that allows sideloading and doesn’t even come with an app store by default is the one that is a monopoly but the locked down one with total control over your device is not.
Some Android flavors even come with other app stores. Samsung phones have their own Samsung app store that even includes Fortnite.
Kung Fury has a sequel and it’s been finished for several years, I’m just suprised the damn movie hasn’t released yet. They were suing some company because they were owed money by them but that’s settled now and we have no word as to why it’s not out yet.
Other than being completely unable to run Wayland, secure boot, and being forced to use a propietary driver what kind of things are specifically wrong with Nvidia on Linux? Maybe it’s because I switched to Linux fairly recently but I haven’t noticed many Nvidia specific issues yet.
And you can’t grow trees on concrete. This one is particular is just the first one of it’s kind and it’s mostly in a spot to show off the technology. I’m not aware of any other ones that have been built yet.
Who would’ve thought that working with a company that has a terrible privacy policy, a suspicious buisiness model, closed source software, and an idiotic reason for keeping its software closed source would be a piracy disaster???
Sunbird literally has access to every message on iMessage that you send and receive. What was Nothing thinking when working with them?
I think that character in particular is an adult but there is a 3000 year old dragon loli character who is sexualized along with a human child who is also sexualized
It’s an immutable distro that simplifies running Android apps and containers for software from other distributions. It uses it’s own tool for immutability called ABRoot that also allows you to safely install native packages when needed.
Thank you so much, comrades! I am feeling pretty comfortable with linux mint, and now would like some suggestions for some absolutely necessary FOSS or free license software for the OS. So far I have the standard, Firefox, ThunderBird, LibreOffice, yada yada. Thank you again to everyone on the linux comm! sankara-salute
I was actually using Celluloid before but videos were not playing until I used the commands you gave. Gnome videos is now crashing but I don’t care as much since Celluloid is now working

If possible you could travel to a country where it is decriminalized or legal like The Netherlands or Portugal. There might be another one closer to Belgium but those are the only two I know of. I really hope you get better.
I just switched from ZorinOS to Fedora due to constantly running into software that is too new for the Ubuntu 20.04 base that ZorinOS 16 runs on. It is a great beginner distro and I even installed it on a friends computer and another friends grandmas computer and they both loved it. But if you require the latest software you may want to wait until ZorinOS 17 releases later this year.
Some of the software incompatibility issues can be solved just by using the Flatpak verison of it but if there is no Flatpak then you are really screwed. I couldn’t run GPT4All, JellyfinRPC, ani-cli, or use the workaround to use audio in your screenshare on Discord. (until someone bundled that workaround into a Flatpak Discord client). These are all pretty niche things and for the average user you’ll probably be fine though.
I am talking about downloading to my disk not to Spotify App. Now, is there a way to download songs you like in their highest quality? Zorify and Spot-Dl requires spotify premium and YT-music premium respectively if I am not wrong. What are my options now?...
I’m a pretty heavy torrent user, running a media server complete with sonarr/radarr for automatic downloads. I download a lot, and have multiple TBs of upload on various private trackers. I’ve been torrenting forever, but I’ve always wondered about usenet. Over and over on this, and other, forums I see people saying that...
I’m not sure if AvistaZ has music but you could check there. It’s a private torrent tracker but unfortunately the registration isn’t always up. You can join their Discord to be notified when registration is open. Alternatively you can pay for access by buying a seed box from them.
Where does that statistic come from and why is the range so broad? I also don’t think it’s a big deal because even if you do get motion sick, after playing enough you don’t get motion sick anymore. (people in the vr community call it getting your vr legs)
Not sure if you mean finding more music or having people find music you create. If you intend for people to find your music you created on a private self hosted platform you obviously need to look elsewhere but if you want to find new music to listen to there are still options.
You can connect Tidal to your Plex and listen to any music on Tidal on Plex and get discovery/recommendations. You can also connect Plex to Last.fm and get recommendations that way. If you want to manually discover music you can use a site that does that like everynoise.com
Broke my ZorinOS install by trying to upgrade parts of the OS by myself so I could run newer software and lived like that for months until I gave up and switched to Fedora
