Make your own, or if you don’t want to, look on social media for somebody who does in your area. Chances are you’ll find a person, and once you try homemade craft soap you’ll not want to go back to factory-made stuff. Plus you’ll be buying locally, which is good.

NZBgeek. Get Usenet and never have to worry about whatever random tracker you’re using going down ever again.

I used to be a big Pepsi drinker, until I accepted that I was a big Pepsi drinker. Mostly eliminating sodas from my diet made me lose a fair bit of weight. I still have one a couple times a month, when the wife and I go on a date, but after awhile I just stopped missing the taste, as my body was presumably weaned off the sugar addiction. Eventually I started avoiding things that were sugary, because now if I eat too much sweets it makes me feel ill.

Im still a big guy, but my weight is slowly trending downwards, and I feel better now than I ever did before. It’s funny, they tell you that sugar is close to pure energy for the the body, but once I cut back on it I found I had more energy than I did before. I even started running last year.

Anyway, the point of my rambling is to tell you all that they’re all pretty much poison, no matter the brand, and you’ll start feeling better if you stop drinking them at all. If I could do it, so can you, and you’ll thank yourself later. I promise.

I wasn’t sedentary beforehand, I just happened to eat a lot of high-calorie food that I had no hope of burning off.

AphoticDev,

I’ve never had a sedentary lifestyle.

It’s going to be down for longer than that. They’ve already said they are attempting to migrate all data to a new domain.

I’ve been pirating ebooks on my Kindle Oasis for a couple years now, and they’ve never said anything. How would they even know you didn’t buy it someplace else?

As Linux continues to rise in popularity, we might eventually see a Linux version. But unfortunately, most design firms use Macs, since Apple has put so much money into making them good for that, so there’s little incentive for Adobe to work on making Photoshop work under Linux, even using something like Wine.

That doesn’t stop somebody from being an idiot and mentioning something classified in clearnet communications. Never underestimate the power of stupidity.

If anything is gonna convince people who are pissed at reddit to finally jump ship, I figure insulting them and general asshattery from the alternative is definitely gonna do it. I mean, being a dick about things has never, in the history of ever, backfired.

I mean, a VPN protects you from a lot more than just copyright trolls. Even if you’re not sailing the high seas, it’s better to have one than not.

AphoticDev,
@AphoticDev@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Well, one of the biggest reasons to have a VPN is just the privacy. Your ISP spies on you, and sells your browsing data to corporations like Amazon. A good VPN will also block ads, trackers, and malware, which helps keep you safe while browsing. You might also be on an ISP that throttles some types of traffic, such as streaming media.

A VPN, as long as it’s set up right, prevents anyone from seeing what you’re doing, even if they have access to your traffic. And if you’re in the US, there’s a strong argument that being free from casual intrusion into your internet habits by corporations and the government is a Constitutional right.

I like Proton VPN. If you’re on Arch you can download and build their client from the AUR, or by using Pacman. I just use their client, but if you prefer you can also connect via OpenVPN and use something else.

Go into the settings and enable DNS over HTTPS. That should solve the problem, and honestly you should have it enabled anyway for privacy.

That’s the thing about private trackers, each one is different. But usually you need to find somebody who is a member and has an invite to spare. Just don’t buy invites, some people do that and it’s sketchy as fuck and often goes against the rules of the tracker.

A clear victory for the free fediverse: Meta now says integrating with ActivityPub is "a long way out" (privacy.thenexus.today)

When Meta launched their new Twitter competitor Threads on July 5, they said that it would be compatible with the ActivityPub protocol, Mastodon, and all the other decentralized social networks in the fediverse "soon"....

That’s the neat thing, you don’t actually have to subscribe to any of these streaming services in order to watch their shows.

Add ISO to the extension blacklist in SAB so that the download fails and Radarr tries a different one.

If those parts happen to be plastic, don’t do this. It will slowly dissolve some types of plastic.

If we’re talking about common sense, then admitting to getting your bitcoin stolen by downloading fake OBS software probably isn’t the way to start off the comment. That’s not Windows Defender’s fault, that one was all on you, and can happen with most anti-virus if you’re not paying attention to what you’re doing.

AphoticDev,
@AphoticDev@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

At the risk of telling you something you’ve heard before, have you tried out Sonarr/Radarr? Once I got it set up, it really made acquiring media to watch super easy. You can use it to fetch things from torrent sites or Usenet. I do the latter, because of how fast it is to download something. Then I have it piping that media to a Jellyfin server on the same PC, which I then use to stream to my TV in the living room.

Oh thank cthulu, I’ve been waiting for this for ages. I’m so glad Thunderbird is getting some much needed love.

AphoticDev,
@AphoticDev@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Try Usenet instead. Or get a seedbox and let that do the torrenting for you. Either you have a DNS leak with your VPN, or they’re just guessing your torrenting because of how much traffic you’re using all the time. The DNS leak is more likely.

AphoticDev,
@AphoticDev@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

I actually thought about setting up one of these myself, just to see how much money I could make off it.

I knew about Empress, of course, because how could I not? But I’ve not been in the game piracy community for years, and I had no idea she was this… Unstable.
