I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds
Blade runner 2049 was a boring slideshow of backdrops with the “bwaaa” music overlaying it and occasionally plot happened. What plot is that? I don’t fucking remember.
I think it’s weird to put illumination with the other two because while it’s technically a financially successful studio, everything they put out is borderline bootleg quality compared to the other two.
Another player who was at the table during the incident sent me this meme after the problem player in question (they had a history) left the group chat....
All this trilogy confirmed for me is that doctor who is dead. We had 3 episodes to set up an ending and it was still rushed and packed with chibnal style bullshit. RTD seems more interested in igniting flame wars than writing good stories.
I think Dr who is out of ideas and should have ended a long time ago.
I see a lot of communities for moes. Fitmoes, kemonomoes, smolmoes. I don’t know what a moe is - obviously it’s related to anime or Japanese (or otaku) culture but it’s so clearly a thing that I don’t know anything about.
You ever see a dog that’s got its leash tangled the long way round a table leg, and it just cannot grasp what the problem is or how to fix it? It can see all the components laid out in front of it, but it’s never going to make the connection....
The industry backlash wasn’t about any hype wave. My game is nowhere near marketable yet, but I internally switched to using godot despite how much work I have to repeat because unity has declared hostile intent towards indie games. Even if they walked it back the threat of their whims is still there.
I hate that I always compare Lemmy to Reddit, but Reddit used to have (not sure if they still do) guidelines called “Reddiquette” that included guidelines about upvoting and downvoting. I don’t remember the specifics (and sending too much of my browser traffic to Reddit makes me feel dirty) but one of the guidelines was...
Link talking is as much of a deal breaker as Mario talking. But the people who love minions will sell their house to watch this film and buy all the merch so they’re still going to get millions.
I bought diablo 4 because post release everyone said it was good. They were right up until season 1 patch. It’s like Blizzard made a mistake by making a good game and desperately felt they had to fix that mistake.
Gee, it’s almost like corporations are gouging consumers so badly that their market advantages are being lost due to greed. Inflation this quickly isnt real. I used to have nightmares about that borg queen when I was a kid, but didn’t remember where they came from until the anniversary event at Epcot when they brought it back. That was a surreal experience seeing my nightmares in 3d again.
They were a fun novelty when it was only theme parks doing it, because the theatre experience was tailored to that one movie and they could bring practical effects into the show.
In a standard movie theater there wasn’t much point and I watched potc 4 without the glasses because it genuinely looked better than with the glasses on.
