Pietson,

Something like scratch is probably a much easier introduction.

Pietson,

The problem with Roblox is that they themselves are the creeps exploiting kids

Pietson,

that's exactly what I'd like to use it for, although using shareX for this seems a little inconvenient? I assume it wouldn't have any sort of timeline feature to go along with it? will it start the auto capture automatically when my laptop is powered on or even comes out of standby?

Pietson,

That's fair enough, but it's still an awards show, surely those should be the important bit? If wants to be the next E3 it shouldn't do that half-assed and either split it off into a separate show, or drop the awards so a better show can get the focus.

Pietson,

I do agree with that.

Pietson,

I'm hoping for an IMAX double feature as I never saw the first in IMAX.

Pietson,

As art, the comic was effective because I spent a lot of time looking at the relatively simple comic

Not sure if I would agree with this. I don't think you should measure how successful art is by how long you spend looking at it. I'm not even sure if it's something you can measure at all since it's so subjective

Pietson,

Not sure if there's any dimension 20 fans on this comment section but that was one of my favourite jokes in mentopolis. They go check out a memory at the library and the librarian recommends they change it up a little before handing it back in.

Pietson,

It's far from my favourite but since most others have been mentioned I'll give Kung Fury a shout. It's hilarious.

Pietson,

Can't wait for some teenager to smash it as a dare.

If you had a one-way ticket to Jan 1, 1999 that departs on Jan 1, 2024, and you are allowed to bring whatever fits into a backpack with you, what would you bring to use to take over the world, and how would you use it? (kbin.social)

Assume that the future can change based on your actions, so any historical information that you bring along with you from the intervening 25 years may quickly drift out of the new realities history....

Pietson,

It only had information up until 2000 so better make good use of it for that one year

Pietson,

This heavily favours games with a high replayability factor, and games that aren't very repayable aren't inherently inferior. Consider puzzle games or games with some kind of major twist. If you know what to do in outer wilds you can complete it in 20 minutes or so. Similar thing for the witness. These are extreme examples but it applies to things like story based games too.

Pietson, (edited )

Physical games degrade. They can get filthy or stop working. I'm talking about reselling digital games. If I want to play for example the last of us, I would have zero incentive to buy a new digital copy if I can buy a resold licence from someone who already finished it for a much lower price.

On top of that, digital games also don't have to deal with actually needing to transfer between buyer and seller. You don't need to meet up or send it by mail. It's an instant transaction that has a much larger pool of sellers and customers.

You must pick a point in human history before the 1950s to be spend the rest of your life in. What era and place would you choose?

You would still have the same age, gender, personality, skin color, etc. and you would be able to speak at least one local language and would know basic information of the era and place. Your family, social standing, and such would be randomly picked.

Pietson,

And people ask why Gandalf didn't call em up to fly to mount doom.

Pietson,

Just got back into plateup today after a long hiatus. It's great alone or with friends, and always seems to be on sale.

Pietson,

I don't have kids and thought it looked cute

Pietson,

I guess so if you count using software licenses. But it's not exactly a big secret. Not like the company is losing anything if I do.

Pietson,

I really want to give masks a shot sometimes

Pietson,

I swear to god whenever there's a story about Uranus, it's like a competition just started for best title

Pietson,

It's not like they don't know who owns the car. They should be able to check afterwards if it was a real emergency, and if it was faked, send the bill and maybe report them for impersonating a police officer.

Pietson,

I was thinking that if they can remotely unlock features based on a subscription I assume there's an account involved at some point.

Pietson,

Tomatoes are only fruits in a biological sense, vegetable is a culinary term so it makes no sense to mix them up.

Pietson,

Clearly the funky duck gave the first Ted talk.

Pietson,

People are really making alot of mistakes in this thread

Pietson,

Honestly the fact that Pringles don't have an overpowering flavour is partly why I like them

Pietson,

AFAIK, the first one is the real check, the second one is too train their image recognition AI.

This game has some pretty sublime humor at times.

There was a conversation with Withers where he shares a bunch of back-story about some of the big bads. He’s speaking pretty plainly, but there was still a dialogue option that said “Stop speaking in riddles and speak plainly. Can’t you give me more information?”. I felt like I had already obtained what I needed from...

Pietson,

This happened to me and my friends two sessions ago. We ended up reloading an older save since it seemed as might lose a lot of story threads otherwise.

Pietson,

Reminds me of the daredevil intro sequence

Pietson,

Also since bikes take up less space more can cross in the same time

Pietson,

They got done dirty, I hadn't even heard of the lamplighters league until a friend of mine at triumph mentioned it recently. Paradox majorly dropped the ball on this one, with setting the release so close to the widely anticipated city skylines 2 and then not doing any advertising for it.

Pietson,

Boromir did it too, although under pressure of aragorn and only after holding it for about half a minute.

Pietson,

Yeah I remember having issues only once and I'm pretty sure that was Waze rather than Android Auto.

Pietson,

I'd say the lowest bars are letting people change controller bindings and not adding features that rely purely on colour.

Pietson,

I think it's fine to classify certain things as high art if you don't let that devalue works that don't fit the category. I see video games as a medium rather than art and it's perfectly possible to produce high art from it.

Pietson,

Technically he didn't meet you so the streak is still on.

Every single Onewheel is being recalled after four deaths (www.theverge.com)

Future Motion, the maker of the Onewheel electric skateboard, is recalling every one of them, including 300,000 Onewheel self-balancing vehicles in the US. Alongside the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the company now seeks to remedy the products after four known death cases — three without a helmet — between...

Pietson,

Onewheels are working as intended, however the cpsc put them under investigation because they questioned the safety of these boards. This recall/firmware update is the result of that.

Pietson,

AFAIK it's not even 100$, but 100$ worth of store credit. So people are being asked to return their device but it's ok, they get a tiny discount on the next one that functions pretty much the same.

Pietson,

I'm not super involved with the community but I thought vesc was starting to match futuremotion software, aren't the floatlife guys using vesc as daily drivers or something?

Pietson,

Wasn't the accusation that he had a device in his shoe, and the buttplug thing was just a joke that got out of hand?

Pietson,

The second back to the future movie even turns the villain into a trump-like megalomaniac

Pietson,

saying nuclear and coal both suck is kind of like saying both a plate of shit and a plate of overcooked brussels spouts would suck to eat for dinner. In theory I don't like either but one is significantly worse.

At least with nuclear waste it's not loosely scattered in the atmosphere, doesn't have a harmful effect as long as it's properly stored, and in the future we will likely have better ways to deal with it.

Pietson,

The way house elves are handled and the very stereotypical names come to mind.

Pietson,

Biblically accurate padme

Pietson,

They're fishing for people who think it's important to have one because YouTube sponsorships told them so.

‘Dear bankers, it’s time to wake up:’ Belgium raises record €22 billion from savers in ‘clear signal’ for higher bank rates (english.elpais.com)

Belgium has raised a record €21.9 billion ($23.65 billion) from savers in a bond sale designed to compete with bank deposits, a sign of growing popularity for government debt as discontent grows with lenders failing to keep up with surging interest rates. The sale marks the biggest funding drive from households in Belgium’s...

Pietson,

As a Belgian I put in a good chunk of my savings. I don't have a mind for finance and investments so it's a win win. As close to a no risk investment as you're gonna get, no need to keep an eye on it, and helps the state.
