Starts to feel like a game on early access.

But when the mods are removed from Nexus…

We would do the same but having Windows preinstalled allows us to have Dell add the device to our AzureAD tenant so we can ship the devices to users hands off.

I bought myself a workstation earlier this year and saved £70 by choosing Ubuntu

Piped never works for me. Tapping play does nothing. Firefox on android

I’m not sure LLMs will need to use the search facility when they could clone the repo.

I was getting slow down after a few days so I have cronjob to restart the docker every evening

I wish Linux had Powertoys Fancy Zones

lazynooblet,
@lazynooblet@lazysoci.al avatar

Splits my Ultrawide into several customised sections that I can snap Windows to.

As I’m dragging a window I simultaneously right click and a bunch of zones appear that I can snap it to.

I have an Ultrawide and a portrait 1440p that are split vertically and horizontally respectively.

Holy shit. This is what I needed. Thank you, thank you!

Something else I miss on Linux is a good alterantive to RoyalTS. RDP, SSH, VNC, etc. connectivity manager. Remmina I think is the closest but its not as good.

lazynooblet,
@lazynooblet@lazysoci.al avatar

My employer is an MS shop so needs RDP, and then SSH for the Linux systems I’ve introduced.

lazynooblet,
@lazynooblet@lazysoci.al avatar

This. I just started playing with Linux desktop in a VM and I’m not sure if it’s because it’s virtualized but I’ve had to kill plasma and relaunch or reboot several times because KDE is playing silly buggers.

lazynooblet,
@lazynooblet@lazysoci.al avatar

Thanks I’ll look those up.

I have a new workstation arriving next week that will be dedicated for work and I want to first try Linux. Everything I need has a Linux client, and I have a license for VMware workstation which also has a Linux version so I can boot up Windows if I need to.

I love the speed. KDE can be made to look really nice. But I picked straight up Debian as that’s the distribution I’ve been using for servers for years and I wanted stable. Maybe I need to go to Arch.

lazynooblet,
@lazynooblet@lazysoci.al avatar

I’ll check the version later. I wonder if Debian is using an old version and it’s worth enabling back ports for plasma. Ultimately I’m after stability, hence picking Debian.

If Ukraine wasn’t offered vast assistance they would have likely been swallowed by Russia by now.

Russia invaded. Russia was the aggressor, with some eye rolling cliché reasoning to boot.

I just watched the RTINGS video on burn-in and understand the repurcussions of my flippant attitude.

My phone really struggled to render the web page. Looks great though

FlorisBoard | FOSS keyboard that respects your privacy (florisboard.org)

I came across everyday topic on Techlore Discussions about free and open source keyboards for Android and discovered this little gem. It is FlorisBoard, a virtual keyboard for Android which respects privacy of the user. I can sigh with relief and finish my search for that singular keyboard for typing stuff on the go....

Why isn’t it on the play store, does that cost the developer?

lazynooblet,

I’d like to use it by my phone is supplied by work and blocks side-loading. Oh well.

An interesting concept that unfortunately exposed awful people. I never let my kids on there because every 4th visitor was a penis. It had the potential to connect people. A shame it was abused.

OK Microsoft... trying to log into Teams while work lapop updates to Windows 11. No longer works in any iPhone browser, including Edge. The app will not authenticate my work login. (lemmy.world)

Update…Per Microsoft’s instructions, disabled all tracking protections in Safari and requested desktop mode and it works. Their instructions say turn protections back on after using teams… 😐...

This feels like me Vs the world with my family

Israel kills Al-Jazeera correspondent’s family days after Blinken demands the channel’s coverage be ‘toned down’ (mondoweiss.net)

Today, Al-Jazeera Bureau Chief Wael El-Dahdouh was reporting live in Gaza when an Israeli airstrike killed his wife and two children. Now, other journalists also fear their families could be targeted solely for them doing their job....

I don’t know how impressive it is unless it gets compared to a cable with similar features, of which there are many… at a fraction of the cost. So it would be excellent to see the same scans on a £30 cable to see just how over engineered the Apple cable may or may not be.

The carbon footprint of building an EV is larger than an ICE, no one is disputing this. But once in operation the EV catches up and through its life is a better alternative over all. So why not take that win? Why be so vehemently against a solution that reduces carbon footprint and air pollution? Because fuck cars right?

lazynooblet,
@lazynooblet@lazysoci.al avatar

That’s a cool tidbit to know. What did it have to do with this story? Where did the transfer take place?
