jimbo,

Who the fuck are these millennials who allegedly talk like this?

jimbo,

Anticheat benefits the users by…reducing the number of cheaters in games. Big concept to wrap your head around, I know.

jimbo,

I’ve been playing games that use EasyAntiCheat (Hunt Showdown and Chivalry 2) and they seem to work fine.

jimbo,

Which anticheat is a “root kit”?

jimbo, (edited )

Why are you force quitting a game to go use the bathroom? Just step away for a few minutes.

jimbo,

Are there single player games with anticheat?

jimbo, (edited )

Didn’t even know it changed until I saw this thread. Opened it up, saw that chats and servers are sensibly separated and on the bottom now where they’re easy to reach with a thumb. Also way easier to reply to messages now that the swipe doesn’t show who’s online (to see who’s online, tap the channel name at the top of the screen).

I like it.

jimbo,

A truck like the front one is driven by someone with nothing to prove.

jimbo,

Let’s be honest, most people with trucks that large rarely have passengers, rarely even approach the payload for the bed, and they never tow anything.

jimbo,

True, but the older ones are so much simpler to work on.

jimbo,

I had a 2015 Nissan Frontier a with a tow capacity of about 6500 lbs. Bought a hitch receiver and towing wiring…and never installed it. Never towed a damned thing with that truck, even though I had it in my brain that surely I would at some point.

jimbo,

Just remember, as stupid as stunts like this are, there are stupider people who eat it up.

jimbo,

So learning to draw like a particular artist is okay, but developing a computer system to do the same thing is not okay? Why?

jimbo,

Naw, it’s just a bullshit number. A large truck driven in poor conditions for fuel efficiency will still get 12-13mpg.

jimbo,

Is there some reason to think that running Windows 11 Pro for Workstations would have made a difference in a CPU benchmark? I’m not seeing anything obvious on the feature list for that version that would make that be the case.

jimbo,

So the parts of the screen that rarely ever change might be burned in…with the image of the thing that is almost always in that spot anyway…

jimbo,

Was any else able to verify the claim in the original video? I couldn’t.

jimbo,

Did this happen to anyone other than the one guy who made the video about it? I couldn’t replicate it.

jimbo,

I’ve been here for like 6 months now, maybe more. Posts SEEM to be getting more engagement than when I started. It definitely doesn’t seem like there are fewer users.

Hospitals have special protection under the rules of war. Why are they in the crosshairs in Gaza? (apnews.com)

JERUSALEM (AP) — The head of surgery at Gaza’s largest and most advanced hospital held up his phone Saturday to the hammering of gunfire and artillery shelling. “Listen,” said Dr. Marwan Abu Sada as fighting raged around Shifa Hospital.

jimbo,

“forcing”

Nobody is forcing Israel to do anything.

jimbo,

lol, Israel doesn’t “have to” do anything.

jimbo,

watching evidence videos

You might run into some trouble with surveillance videos that require some proprietary video player to play. Not sure how often you come across those.

jimbo,

What’s different about it?

jimbo,

Oreos

Contact lens solution (any name brand)

jimbo,

It must be nice living in a little bubble where you don’t have to think about social and political realities.

jimbo,

Why do people enjoy shared experiences? Such mystery.

jimbo, (edited )

Why don’t you look this shit up instead of asking ill-conceived, leading questions?

Amtrack is a public corporation that is for all intents and purposes owned by the federal government. The executives make an average of $250k a year, ranging from ~$50k to $650k. That’s slightly less (from what I can find) that what BNSF pays their executives.

jimbo,

I remember this kind of stuff back from my days as an evangelical Christian…they applaud this kind of nonsense, even though every single one of the users of this kind of software has some way around it. Purity culture craziness.

jimbo, (edited )

They fuckin’ do that and I’m out. Haven’t run Linux on the desktop since 2009, but it wasn’t bad back then and I assume it’s only gotten better. Meanwhile Microsoft has continued the enshittification of Windows and if I didn’t need it for dev purposes, I’d be more willing to pull the plug. All this “AI” stuff Microsoft keeps adding to everything is going to push me over the edge.

jimbo,

Depending on the people and the argument, it could be funny and dispel said argument.

jimbo,

You know, I’m all for rehabilitation, but some people just don’t merit having that effort wasted on them.

jimbo,

It’s also impossible for him to murder anyone else before he kicks the bucket himself. I’d call that a win.

jimbo,

A lot of old, former hippies vote Republican these days, unfortunately.

jimbo,

What does “support directly” mean? Like you’re going to cut checks to the entire cast and crews of the shows you watch?

jimbo,

How so?

McDonald's prices are out of control. (cdn.masto.host)

Gee, it’s almost like corporations are gouging consumers so badly that their market advantages are being lost due to greed. Inflation this quickly isnt real. It’s what happens when you come off a global pandemic with millions dead and corporations see they can freely abuse you by exploiting the public zeitgeist that prices...

jimbo,

Have you looked at the privacy policy and permissions? They’re pretty tame and about what you’d expect for any app that handles purchases: play.google.com/store/apps/datasafety?id=com.mcdo…

Personal info - Name, Email address, User IDs, and Address

Financial info - User payment info and Purchase history

Messages - Emails and Other in-app messages

App activity - App interactions, In-app search history, and Other actions

App info and performance - Crash logs, Diagnostics, and Other app performance data

jimbo,

Shows up in the menu in their app. Tap cheeseburger then “make it a meal” and it gives you the two cheeseburger meal. Plus you can pretty much get any sandwich in a meal if you just ask, regardless of whether or not it’s on the menu.

jimbo,

Oh please. There’s nothing strange going on with how McDonald’s food is prepared. A Big Mac is bun, two salt and peppered beef patties, American cheese, onions, lettuce, pickles, and a sauce that is basically thousand island dressing. It tastes fine if you like the combination of ingredients.

jimbo,

Yep, not a single mention of anything having to do with the Geneva Conventions.

jimbo,

I’m all for Israel defending themselves, but they’re not even trying to hide the fact that this is about revenge, not security.

jimbo,

Victims of injustice have long memories, and so do their families.

This applies equally to Israel, bud. That’s why this stupid, bloody conflict keeps on going.

jimbo,

But the reason why they do this is not what has happened to them in their lifes.

What other fuckin’ reason is there? Everyone is precisely how they are because of the sum total of their life experiences and the results of their genetic lottery.

jimbo,

How does deregulation restrict the housing supply?

jimbo,

Is that something the government needs to figure out? Seems like something will eventually be done with the buildings once the current owners get tired of losing money.

jimbo,

Were there regulations at some point in US history that prevented that?

Honest question: what was Hamas' long-game with respect to kidnapping Israelis? Did they think Israel would just negotiate rather than retaliate?

It just seems crazy to me given the power imbalance. A cynical part of me suspects that things are playing out exactly as some evil strategists hoped they would, which, given all the children dying, is super-depressing....

jimbo,

You’re making statements about sides based off what some unnamed “Israeli professor” allegedly said. Okay.

jimbo,

Because the higher FPS look nicer and we’re talking about something done for no other reason than for enjoyment.

jimbo,

400mg of caffeine is not potentially dangerous unless you’re one of the unlucky few people who have a heart condition. Even then, people with heart conditions aren’t necessarily dropping dead because they drank some caffeine.
