zzzz,

Green beans, also. Mostly, it’s the texture and how good a job was done removing all the stems.

zzzz,

It’s the illegal prime number used to decrypt DVDs.

zzzz,

Alright, I’ll say it: non-consensual sex.

zzzz,

People like him cannot experience humiliation.

zzzz,

Did Anydesk do something shady?

zzzz,

OK. I didn’t know any of this! Thanks for filling me in. I’ve been using anydesk since I jumped shipped from TeamViewer a couple of years ago. It’s been doing what I’ve needed it to do, but I don’t ever have more than one connection at a time.

zzzz,

Those systems of justice were especially designed for shitdicks like this.

I thought it was for the Catholics/Protestants/Other-type-of-Protestants?

alt textIt’s hard to imagine a more extraordinary claim than that some hidden intelligence created a universe of more than a hundred billion galaxies, each containing more than a hundred billion stars, and then waited more than 13.7 billion years until a planet in a remote corner of a single galaxy evolved an atmosphere...

zzzz,

To be fair, this was precisely my role in Populous.

What are some KVM-over-IP or equivalent solutions you guys would recommend for guaranteed remote access and remote power cycle?

Currently, I have SSH, VNC, and Cockpit setup on my home NAS, but I have run into situations where I lose remote access because I did something stupid to the network connection or some update broke the boot process, causing it to get stuck in the BIOS or bootloader....

zzzz,

Check out pikvm: pikvm.org

There are cheaper knockoffs that run the same software. For example: geekworm.com

zzzz,

You’d also need GPIO pins to be able to do the remote “button presses”.

TIL about this tool, the *Reinigungsschaber* ! (lemmy.world)

I had lost hope with my electric cooking plates. The white circles where completely hidden under a layer of diamond-grade burn residue that no amount of scrubbing with chemicals could even begin to remove. I found this 3€ scrapping tool and it’s amazing !!! Sorry, but I don’t have the before picture, believe me after 6...

zzzz,

Glass is harder than most metals.

Honest question: what was Hamas' long-game with respect to kidnapping Israelis? Did they think Israel would just negotiate rather than retaliate?

It just seems crazy to me given the power imbalance. A cynical part of me suspects that things are playing out exactly as some evil strategists hoped they would, which, given all the children dying, is super-depressing....

zzzz,

Thank you for the video and the thoughtful response!

zzzz,

Thank you for the thoughtful reply.

zzzz,

That’s something I hadn’t thought of.

zzzz,

Do it, my friend. I took the leap ~5 years ago and have not once regretted it. You’re right, you have Wine and Windows VMs available, if need be. But, honestly, I bet you end up replacing those work flows with better ones within Linux before long.

zzzz,

Right on, dude. I hope the transition is a pleasant one for you!

zzzz,

The similarity is a complete coincidence.

That’s what they want you to think.

zzzz,

KISS launcher FTW. I could never go back to a standard launcher now.

zzzz,

Well, as a first point, OP’s information is wrong. While it’s true that the half-life of U235 is ~700 million years, it isn’t true that half of the initial mass is lost. When U235 fissions, about 200 MeV of the initial mass is converted to energy. The total initial mass is about a thousand times that, though (E=mc^2). So, after 700 million years, assuming you kept it from falling apart, the initial 15 lb lump would only lose ~1/4 of an ounce as energy.

zzzz,

Relevant Bible passage Matthew 19:21-22:

Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.

zzzz,

I don’t think that’s fair. Certainly some do. They’re not the ones that make the most noise, however.

zzzz,

The tower sleeps… And so must I.

zzzz,

I’d say more “smarmy” than “creepy”. Not that that’s better.

PM Rishi Sunak expresses concerns over Chinese interference in UK parliament after two men arrested under Official Secrets Act (www.theguardian.com)

The prime minister met the Chinese premier, Li Qiang, on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Delhi in an unplanned meeting hours after the Sunday Times revealed that two men were arrested amid allegations that a parliamentary researcher spied for Beijing.

Well, the difference is that, when we do it, we do it with Dignity and Respect™!

You can also achieve this with any VPN by using two Docker containers:

  1. Gluetun: github.com/qdm12/gluetun
  2. Tailscale: tailscale.com/kb/1282/docker/

Set Gluetun up to connect to your VPN (they support a huge number of providers) and then set the Tailscale container to use the Gluetun’s network. Then, use that Tailscale container as your exit node.

You can also combine this with a self-hosted Headscale (github.com/juanfont/headscale) instance.

zzzz,

Wow. That’s a striking art.

zzzz,

To add to this, the rich (i.e., French-speaking) consumed the most butchered meat, by far. So, it came to be that butchered meat for sale would be labeled in French, while the live animals, which were tended by (English-speaking) peasents retained their English names.
