deegeese,

Apartheid victims recognize apartheid oppressors.

deegeese,

If you follow the intentionally onerous rules, you might get to spend some of your own money on healthcare without being taxed.

Ask yourself why you had to jump through those hoops in the first place.

These are policies created by bad people to rip off ordinary Americans. Making healthcare appear affordable also deflects calls for universal healthcare like they have in every other developed country.

Basically HSAs are a scam put out by health insurance lobbyists.

deegeese,

Why are your health expenses taxable in the first place?

Don’t fall for “orphan crushing machine” policies.

deegeese,

A system designed to make ordinary people lose their own money for not following paperwork IS a scam.

deegeese,

The first act of Falling Down is a pretty good example.

deegeese,

Can’t hear Uber without hearing Nazis prattle about ubermensch.

deegeese,

Yes, ubermensch is a loanword in English, favored by cringy edgelords like the founder of Uber.

deegeese,

Pakled Bell were the worst cobbled together computers of the 90’s. Just an assemblage of the cheapest parts from sources you’ve never heard of.

deegeese,

Most places switched to 12oz a while back. I always figured it was shrinkflation. Place I buy from offers 12oz and 5lbs. My local Peet’s will sell any quantity and bag to order.

What is the deal with Palestine and Hamas?

For mental health reasons, I had taken myself out of most political topics. But lately there seems to be a surge of talk about Palestine and Hamas (forgive me if I spelled this wrong). I do know it’s something to do with land rights, but it also seems to be so much more at the same time. I’m not trying to start any fights. I...

deegeese,

Palestinians are denied human rights by Israel.

Israel prevents formation of peaceful political groups in Gaza, but allows Hamas as “preferred opposition”.

This supports Israel’s goal of genocide against Palestinians and provides a convenient excuse for bombing civilians.

deegeese,

What countries are accepting refugees from Gaza?

deegeese,

They’re poor people without the resources necessary for international resettlement. Now you have politicians demonizing Palestinian civilians as all terrorists. Some have even proposed deporting Palestinians BACK to Gaza.

Zionists had resources and western political support, so they took the land instead of settling somewhere they were welcome.

Palestinian civilians have no resources, so their land has been stolen.

deegeese,

Good grief.

Like reading 10 pages that Milkshake duck is racist.

deegeese,

Jeez, how many grenades do you have to dodge before you start looking for a safe spot?

deegeese,

SciFi should only show happy futures?

deegeese, (edited )

“Fiction shouldn’t express opinion” is certainly an odd take.

  • deegeese,

Sounds like those two components have overcome miniaturization constraints and can fit on single chips now.

    deegeese,

This is an excuse to arrest news reporters in Gaza so they can conduct genocide with nobody watching.

    deegeese,

Oh, we’re defending bombing hospitals now?

Did you hear the IDFs Hamas story was debunked and it likely came from Iron Dome?

Internet providers say the FCC should not investigate broadband prices (arstechnica.com)

Internet service providers and their lobby groups are fighting a US plan to prohibit discrimination in access to broadband services. In particular, ISPs want the Federal Communications Commission to drop the plan’s proposal to require that prices charged to consumers be non-discriminatory.

    deegeese,

In other news, robbers say cops should not investigate robberies.

    deegeese,

Well, yes, that is a pretty accurate description of regulatory capture of the FCC by telecom companies.

    deegeese,

Yeah, it certainly is a thing.

    deegeese,

    You don’t know Chap Ligma?

    deegeese,

Apparently the true stupid questions are those so poorly phrased as to be unanswerable.

    deegeese,

I’m not sure that’s a great trick. You have to remember 6 digits to calculate an approximation accurate to 8 digits.

How many architectures in 2023 still lack a FPU? They were getting pretty rare when I last worked with this stuff 15 years ago.

    deegeese,

Yeah, I guess the Z80 will never die.

Can you share the discussion thread? I’m not going to bother making an account on a forum I’ve never heard of.

It would be invisible to radar once it’s over the horizon, but ships are always visible to satellites, the larger the easier to spot.

    deegeese,

It’s really “Find My Phone” can be used as a sort of ubiquitous low bandwidth whisper network for sending back secrets from hidden devices.

    deegeese,

True but so general a statement as to be meaningless.

Chiefly used to muddle a debate.

    deegeese,

But we still get second breakfast, right?

    deegeese,

Ah yes, the famous maker of sports equipment.
