For me I would say “The Expanse” is a huge one. If there was ever a self made family, the crew of the Rocinante is one of the best. The amount of time they spend together and how they congeal into life long partners and friends in the face of some truly awful events is really inspiring to me.

One of these cultures has normalised vegan and vegetarianism for centuries, the other is trying to wean a meat-obsessed population.

They are not the same thing, nor do they have the same requirements to reach their end goals

Veganism is actually a fairly new phenomenon in general, a lot of Jains in particular have adopted it. But vegetarianism in India dates back over a thousand years BCE , so yeah, they’ve got a bit of a head start.

As a healthcare worker I hear this joke a lot and I just don’t care for it. It’s insensitive, unprofessional and rude. Yes we all get that “it’s just a joke, bro” but making light of vulnerable patients getting hurt is rotten behavior.
