Just kinda curious do you guys ever run into issues of lacking imessage (like your friends unwilling to use another app) or is it just a over blown issue.
I’m almost 30 I barely text, none of my friends care what messaging app anyone uses and most use whatever the default is. I don’t use any third party messenger, if I wanna share memes it’s in discord. I guess that’s a messenger though not attached to my phone number.
I don’t like the new layout… But you can swap back??? There’s a button, I think I must’ve been apart of an early roll out because mine switched a couple months ago. But there’s a setting to use old layout
I think windows 11 is fine. All the weird hardware I use with my computer always seems to not work how I would like with linux. So linux for my servers windows for desktop.
Have 48" oled as my main monitor only 2 1/2 years old and 4500 hours, no burn in yet but tbh my last lcd monitor burned in quicker (was an ultrawide had a line down the middle after a couple years from split screening windows). When It does I don’t think I’ll mind, was the cheapest upgrade from my last monitor with all features I wanted
Yeah my C9 just passed 6000hours of use and still looks amazing, tbh wish plasma was more popular in the day, still use my pioneer 50" plasma from 2008 in the living room. All the lcds I bought have weird backlight or pixel issues after 3 years
do you find it difficult to get into games? I’ve got Epic Games and Steam Games libraries chock-full of classic top-tier games along with many other newer games like Stray or 2077, and a bunch of indie titles. I just can’t be bothered to download and install them, much less try to get into the characters and storylines. Used...
Yeah but people change hobbies change and priorities change. Don’t ever try to force yourself to play games because you feel like your supposed to. I don’t eat candy anymore because I stopped enjoying it. I’m not gonna just eat it because I used to love it.
If thats how you play games now just do you, have fun with those games now, don’t need to over think it
I almost never use gps but that’s mainly because my car doesn’t have it and I have no mount for my phone. GPS on a phone in a cup holder is not ideal. I just drive in the direction I think stuff is in, usually works out
I’ve blocked quite a lot, seems easier than subscribing to individual communities. Blocked most meme and porn communities, and I just straight up block bot reposting accounts
I don’t even use the built in taskbar anymore, I always put mine up top and windows 11 broke that functionality so I’m using some other taskbar replacement
I have been using Kodi and real-debrid on all of my devices for like 6+ years. I recently tried Stremio and it is a much more streamlined experience for this use case.
Only complaint about the debrid services is what is available depends on what other users added to the service already. So most of the Anime I watch isn’t easily available through it. So I have a self hosted solution to acquire anime. Everything else is very accessible with less effort then torrenting or usenet.
Suppose you win 100 million. What do you actually do with it? Banks only guarantee 250,000. Do you have to invest it? Is there anywhere you can just let it sit and draw interest?
Usually, when you open a website, that site might be pulling live data from somewhere, but it’s from a database on the same server. If you click a Fediverse link, and no-one else from your instance has already done so, it seems like your instance has to contact a remote site, pull the data and render it, in the same timeframe...
Is this how most people type on mobile these days, drawing lines all over a keyboard instead of tapping the individual keys? I've never had an iPhone so I don't even know if they can do this natively, but I know you can switch keyboards at least, so it should still be an option if not.
Ever since Swype came out I’ve been using it. I tried to use swiftkey and gboard when swype stopped updating. But I went back to Swype even if it is deprecated it just feels better to me
I’ll go first, I took my mom’s college textbooks which came with discs for a couple distros and failed to install RHEL before managing to get Fedora Core 4 working. The first desktop environment I used was KDE and despite trying out a few others over the years I always come back to plasma. Due to being like 12, I wanted to...
Basically just an easier way to get a tunnel into your server, instead of having to configure a reverse proxy or manage certs. I just have the cloud flared docker installed, then on their site under the tunnels section I just assign whatever domains or subdomains to all my services via a local ip address. Im doing a couple things that definitely break TOS lol. But imma let it ride till they stop me then I guess I’ll switch to a reverse proxy
Linux still doesn’t play nice with nvidia right? Last time I tried to daily drive it I had many issues with my dual monitor setup, where each monitor is a different resolution refresh rate and has gsync.
Has Wayland caught up to WDDM? Microsoft has been steadily improving multi monitor rendering, and this is the only reason I haven’t switch yet
Silly question for those comming from a iPhone. Do you miss imessage or was it not that big of a deal?
