A trucking company was interviewing for a job for a mountainous trucking route. The candidates where asked how close they could drive to the edge of the cliff.
The first one said they could drive 2 feet from the edge.
The second one said they could drive 1.5 feet from the edge.
The third one said they didn’t know because they always drive as far away as possible from the edge as they could get.
wow I could see myself screwing that up once but twice. Not sure what I was thinking. I was in a bit of a hurry as my meeting was about to start. There I have fixed it so, I look like less of an idiot :)
Depends if it rips apart universe by making a paradox. I am not sure is destruction of the universe is a criminal charge. But maybe Murder suicide then manslaughter for killing the universe?
A lot of it happens in the backgound. It is at least a 15-30 minute process from start to finish. Very annoying if you have an older computer as it is sucks up a lot of resources updating during the background updates.
I normally don’t ever shutdown or restart my desktop. I like leaving program and stuff running so I can continue what I am doing when I get back. With an update I have to close out all of my shit and then shutdown and open everything back up.
I also swear when you have updates pending on a restart the computer doesn’t run very well.
The way I look at it is, the more information is known about you the easier it is for someone or something to predict/manipulate you.
Now sure this can be beneficial to you if that someone/something is a looking out for your best interest or at least is looking for a mutual benefit solution. However the vast majority of the online world isn’t looking out for your best interest they just want your time and your money. Because of this I personally try and keep my data to myself.
I do my best to block ads and trackers and just be careful about where I am giving out my real information. I think this has helped me avoid buying crap I really don’t need and helping avoid scams as is hard to fall for a scam when they think your Name is Tommy Baker living at a Walmart address in California.
Being private I feel will also help you with social media addition. I spend less time on YouTube/Reddit/Lemmy or wherever if I am not logged in vs if I am logged in. Simply because my accounts are very personalized to me thus it does a better job suggesting content I would be interested in looking at. (Sucking up my time)
so is it possible to watch pirated shows and movies together over the internet? me and my friends cant meet up because we’re hours away from eachother.
Yeah I am really confused why people are mad. Sure it sucks that something was free with no ads now has ads/isn’t free. But was it not obvious that YouTube is unsustainable without adding some kind of income, ads or subscription charges? This day was always coming. I am actually kind of surprised how long it took for YouTube to start combating ads blocks.
YouTube for all its faults, is an incredible service. I know of no alternative service like it. It costs money to run YouTube why should they provide it for free?
If it is just to a small group of people, I think a lot of file storage service would work. I have had people send me links using one drive and I think Dropbox before. My web browser would play them just fine.
I would just sign up for a few under their free package and upload a small video file and make sire everyone can stream it.
Court documents allege that North Korea’s government dispatched thousands of skilled IT workers to live primarily in China and Russia with the goal of deceiving businesses from the U.S. and elsewhere into hiring them as freelance remote employees. The workers used various techniques to make it look like they were working in the U.S., including paying Americans to use their home Wi-Fi connections
Dang what kind of Wi-Fi Access point are they using to reach from the US to China.
Originally I’ve download the signal app through playstore, but often it also get updates from Droid-ify(Fdroid client). Today its weird and I got this . Explain to me this....
Ahh yes your right, my bad. I was thinking the power was equal to her age but it is actually -1 her age. I was doing 2^3 when it should have been 2^2. I guess that is what I get when I don’t show my work. Dang math teacher was right.
Not only that but it is different enough with the year in front that you can assume MM/DD is next. With the other two MM/DD/YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY you are stuck relying on context to fully know what format someone is using. (Unless the day in question is greater than 12.)
Blocking variations.brave.com which is used for A/B testing could potentially break Brave's functionalities. For me did Brave's "forgetful browsing" feature broke which seems to be disabled by default if you block this domain.
Backend storage is all ZFS. I have a big external drive plugged in via USB on my ZFS box and that backs up my daily backups.
I have a two old PCs that I run ZFS on as well. One auto turns on every week and ZFS backs up to that. The other PC is completely manual and I just randomly turn that on and backup. Every so often. Usually every 2-4 weeks.
For off-site backups. I use Syncthing and it is running on a server at a families house. Few miles away.
I picked Syncthing over ZFS because I actually a little more than an off-site I wanted a two way sync between our two locations so both locations could have a local copy they can edit and change.
What your seeing isn’t a result, it is just a feature of Duck duck go that gives you a quick summary of something pulled for Wikipedia. Looks like the filtering forgot to block that feature.
The math doesn’t need to make sense because the only reason they are doing this is to get around EU regulations. They are just providing a ad free experience option to make the EU happy.
Ironically I don’t think soccer would cause riots in the place that it is called soccer. But in places it isn’t called Soccer most definitely would cause riots.
