On Reddit, when a comment is removed or deleted, it still shows up in the comment count. You will see an interesting post with comments, but when you open it you’ll see that it’s actually empty. This is probably done for shadowban reasons, like the vote fuzzing in the other post?...
You can have a lot of accounts open lol there’s no need to close your current CU account for the most part. Some banks/CUs do have minimum balances or a monthly fee if below that but lots don’t, just double check the terms for yours
I personally have savings accounts (And sometimes checking too) at like 3 CUs and a handful of banks lmao
Right, the worst that can happen is a DDoS, you can take down a residential connection really easily. Those little consumer grade routers cannot handle much lmao
I really don’t like Lower Decks. Before you downvote, I would never tell anyone it’s bad or that they shouldn’t like it. I just really can’t figure out why most people seem to like it so much....
Unfortunately no, game pass games are packaged and installed similarly to Windows Store apps and games and heavily relies on Windows Store APIs. Proton nor wine will likely be able to replicate it for a long time (if ever)
You only have 3 options
A dedicated machine with Windows for gaming
A Windows VM with GPU passthrough (Some games’ anti-cheat systems will trigger if it detects a VM, there are ways to harden a VM against it, but it’s tedious and another cat and mouse game.)
I’ll happily jump ship when a better alternative is available, traditional taxis are not a better alternative. I’ll happily vote to implement any regulations covering them, even if it means that an Uber ride gets more expensive. Like I said, I’ll continue taking Uber/Lyft even if they end up being more expensive than a taxi especially if it’s that cost to pay the drivers a proper wage
Uber drivers don’t regularly leave me waiting for hours with the promise of being “Just 10 minutes away”
Uber drivers can’t go “This guy isn’t local, so I’m going to go the longest way possible to rack up charges”
Uber doesn’t leave me guessing where the car is with my only way to find out is to call dispatch (Who will constantly tell you a car is on the way “just a couple minutes”)
Uber drivers don’t just stop 2 or 3 blocks away and expect me to walk
Uber cars have been far cleaner and better maintained than the best taxi I’ve been in
I’ve felt far more unsafe and uncomfortable in a taxi than any Uber ride I’ve been in
…how? The things I listed are all things various taxi services have done to me, many times in various combinations. Out of all the taxi experiences I’ve had I think like 2 were decent
especially if you flag them down in person.
This tells me you’re in a major city like NYC where there is actually decent taxi competition and this is the norm. Short of being in a major city, you’re likely being serviced by 1 or 2 taxi companies and they give no shits, because they’re the only game in town (Until Uber/Lyft comes to town anyways).
Taxis are usually cheaper now
Too little too late, they’ve burned me way too many times, you couldn’t pay me to take a taxi again
Probably because it’s going to be something boring, like social engineering to get credentials, maybe a disgruntled employee or idiotic security configuration.
Does nobody who says this remember their days in highschool?
Let’s say a bedtime of 9
School gets out at 3
Allot about 2 hours for homework, it’s now 5
Allot an hour for dinner, it’s 6
Congratulations! A kid has a whopping 3 hours of free time per weekday to enjoy the last few years of childhood. These are even relatively conservative numbers, HW could easily stretch into 3-4+ hours with an AP class or a particularly HW heavy teacher leaving a whole hour of free time! How wonderful.
Oops wait, a strict parent(s) now adds an additional hour for household chores, ah well so much for free time.
them since they really can’t affect when their school starts.
Don’t be angry at me that that’s how it is. I didn’t make it so.
Well duh. As adults, authority figures and parents that’s our job to push for these things and get it done for them. Just because we had to suffer through it doesn’t mean the status quo should remain the same. That’s the same BS “pull up the ladder behind me” attitude that’s affecting so many other things.
…how? The only acceptable one (Even though I personally don’t like it) is cash.
Fax sucks ass and should have been put in the grave LONG ago, Flash drives are superior to Floppy in every way and fuck paper filing, digitized paperwork is far superior.
Someone I know needs to see Kaibutsu (2023) by Hirokazu Kore-eda for a class. As far as I understand the bluray release is still too far away. Anyone knows where I could find a recording of a theatrical airing or something similar?
I agree with you to a point, some spices used in cultural dishes are extremely potent and permeates into everything when cooked even semi-frequently. Even worse than cigarette smoke IMO. Indian curry is delicious, but the cooking process of it…not so much.
It’s not completely unreasonable to class these spices as having similar damage to property as cigarette smoke and often it takes similar remediation methods to get rid of it.

I seem to see this “powered by Admiral” popup on lots of other websites.
Whatever this Admiral company tech is, it’s the only one that’s been able to detect my Ad blocking in a long time, has anyone been able to defeat it yet?
There was a story series on that other site that went indepth with this (Just without the Star Trek part) I forgot what it was called, Don’t Fuck with the Humans or something like that
Looks cool, but if it can’t pull down my bank transactions it’s probably DOA for me personally. I can never seem to stick with maintaining manually entering transactions into any of these budgeting apps/spreadsheets.
Mint (RIP) got me the closest, but USAA syncing broke every other damn day for some reason and it couldn’t handle reconciling a PayPal transaction and the corresponding bank transactions so all payments I routed through PayPal always ended up being doubled (or in one case tripled lmao)
In a surprising move, Apple has announced today that it will adopt the RCS (Rich Communication Services) messaging standard. The feature will launch via a software update “later next year” and bring a wide range of iMessage-style features to messaging between iPhone and Android users....
Really? High schoolers who have been known to shame/bully/hold random things as status symbols that most grown adults wouldn’t even give a second thought to?
Lmao, they definitely do and I’ve even seen it first hand in a past life as a substitute. There’s also plenty of articles and surveys to confirm it
The company describes these changes as specific to Windows 11 PCs in the EEA, so it’s unclear if users outside this area will be able to utilize these functions.
It’s probably relatively trivial for MS since they have the entire codebase to work with.
I’m more curious on how they plan on limiting it to the EEA, I bet we’ll have much simpler/safer one-click mods that will force windows into deploying these EEA only changes in any region in short order
When they established communications with Starfleet again and got the letter that Mark moved on she was just like “Meh, I knew he would probably move on” lmfao
Well he made a coffee substitute, but it was a sludge like consistency, but I don’t remember her drinking it. Neelix poured it and she saw the sludge but then got called to the bridge
I mean the whole point of a foldable is to be a normal phone, until you need the bigger screen the most. Excluding the Galaxy Folds, dunno what Samsung was thinking with that, it’s way too narrow to satisfy the normal phone part.
I’ve tried tablets over and over again over the years, there’s tablets in storage all over my house. The phone/tablet combo to me suffers from 1 major fatal flaw, the tablet is never around when you need it the most.
You can’t carry tablets in normal pockets, sure you probably have some jeans with bigger-than-normal pockets, but now that’s the first friction point: needing to ensure you wear your special jeans.
Now you need to carry it separately, not just slapping it in your pocket and going out the door. The second friction point: Always needing to carry some sort of small backpack/fanny pack/something to carry the tablet or resign yourself to letting it be loose in your car (Assuming you even have a car) or carrying it in your hands everywhere.
To me the foldable solves all of that, it’s a phone when you need a phone, but got caught up in an unexpected long wait somewhere? Boom, tablet, ready to go when you are when you need it the most. And that’s not even getting into things that tablets can’t do, I for one have fallen in love with the ability to partially fold it like a book when reading.
When I got hired to take charge of the IT department, the first thing I did was phase out ALL HP products and then implemented an “Unacceptable and Barred Brands for purchasing” policy with HP right at top.
Honestly, if you’re in love with the house and you really want it, go for it, try to get them to cover as much as you can. At least you are somewhat aware of what you’re getting into, but beware these kinds of things have a tendency to balloon in costs. What starts out as 15k in estimated costs could easily end up being 25k by the time everything’s done.
If you’re not that attached to it if it’s “Just a house” to you, try to get them to cover the full cost of repairs, if they say no walk away. In the US price cuts have already started happening, houses are sitting on the market longer and longer again. On top of that, you said you’re buying for 85k + 15k for repairs that ends up being 100k and you can get a much better maintained house for 100k? I’d take that option if it were me and save myself the headache.
simple solution really (sopuli.xyz)
