I suspect the most evil rich assholes would set up explosive traps on everything shiny, so that as soon as you pull it or whatever, it blows up. To add insult to injury, you’ll also have to hear a sermon about how greed is bad and evil.
I despise that kind of lighting because it’s so fucking dim at nighttime. The places that still have physical menus apparently expect everyone to pull up their cellphones’ flashlight to read it.
One place I went last year also had some boardgames, but only opened at night and only had that shit dim yellow light. Reading anything was nearly impossible and even the colors of the game pieces were blending together, “is this red, pink or orange?”
Don’t forget to find one of those citizens that are temporarily immortal to punch and kick their shit for maximum physical experience. I loved doing that on that first city, after finishing the quest where the dude convinces you to change your hair and beard “for his daughter”.
It’s a redub with humor. It gets rid of that except when it wants to make fun of the endless haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-ing
As we all know, Roblox is garbage tier gameplay structured around psychological cues to get children to fill an endless pit with fake money bought with real money....
Overcooked can make for some fun chaos, though it tops at 4 players. Team Fortress 2 could work, but it does have graphic violence and I dunno if it’s available for the newer xboxes. On PC, it has loads of mods and custom maps that offer similar experiences to what you can find in Roblox
Nearly everyone knows a bunch of skills “for nothing” or, worse, for fun! Gasp! Shocking, isn’t it?
Also, did you know that modding is a thing at least since the 90s? You know, people that made modifications to games without expecting any financial return or job opportunities? People must be crazy if they’re putting so much effort just to have fun and share it, amirite?
Seeing the other post here about YouTuber that went downhill and seeing content creators I am familiar with makes me sad. But how about those that still makes great, high quality content?
Lockpicking Lawyer makes the best short videos. Not “yt shorts”, it’s just that it takes him 2-5 seconds to pick open the vast majority of locks, the rest of the video is his comment on the lock quality.
JoshStrifeHayes has 3 separate channels now, but that main channel that deals with MMOs still makes quality content in my opinion, but not as often. I also enjoy him playing the old games on JoshStrifePlays.
Not something I visit often nowadays, but I still peruse Gamewinners via the Archive for cheat codes on PS2 era and older games. Gamefaqs has the faqs and walkthroughs, but gamewinners had the cheats. Kinda sad that the best equivalent to it nowadays is youtube videos showing exploits of games.
On a quick-ish search, the only info I found on Team Kaiju was that it had some people that worked on recent Battlefield and Halo. Tencent bought it sometime in late 2021, apparently. Didn’t look like they finished any games in the meantime.
Thing is, it’s fucking easy to dispute this patent because of how many other games already do something extremely similar. Adaptive difficulty isn’t a novel idea. That they think they can patent it shows how broken that system is.
On a side note, the site had this other gem: New Sony Patent Will Let You Replay A Game From Any Point Possible. From the name, I thought they were patenting savestates, like those you do with emulators. But nope, it’s dumber and more convoluted than that, closely tied to streaming, somehow.
I guess they think they have nothing to hide, because they don’t know, or don’t care about, how their own information can be used against them.
Because it doesn’t happen in an obviously invasive manner, they don’t think it’s a big deal. It’s harder to associate an abstract concept to actual value.
I mean the one you do when you want something easy to do, but not when you’re tired at the point you microwave a frozen-meal, or just cut down a piece of cheese and put it in a bread
If you’re not up on your Dota lingo, smurfing is a phenomenon whereby seasoned players start new accounts for the purpose of being matched with newbies they can easily stomp, which sucks for the newbies and is kind of pathetic behaviour on the part of the pros. Behaviour score farming, meanwhile, just means paying for people (or bots) to give you a thumbs-up in Dota’s player behaviour rating system, the one that’s meant to keep toxic players away from, well, nice people.
Thanks, article. Also, no surprise how easy it is to game these systems. Catching these smurfs should be easy, as most will either completely forget to use a VPN, or make a slip sooner or later. The fact that these players go out of their way to effectively play with a huge handicap in their favor shows how pathetic they are, much like gankers (max level players who harass and kill lower level players) in MMOs
I’ve used some “vertical” mice, and found them a hella lot more comfortable. It doesn’t keep your hand fully 90º compared to the surface, but it’s enough to feel the difference. My ex didn’t like it, so it’s a case of ymmv
Only the post is about asking questions to the devil, not asking for wishes. Which would make no difference in the end, you can make all the wishes you want, there was never anything about making any of them coming true.
“People have unrealistic expectations for AAA games! It’s impossible to make them as good as people expect them to be!”
I remember lots of big studios saying that shit after Baldur’s Gate 3 officially released. The work of a comparatively small studio with a Skyrim budget (100 million USD) did what many bigger budgets failed to do. How was that possible? Clearly, it’s the fault of gamers for expecting too much!
Side note: Witcher 3’s budget was around 34 million USD, with less than 13m for development proper, which is another good example of a game that even at release was already looking and playing great.
I only “like” Todd because of how easy it is to meme him and his bullshit. Now that Microsoft owns Bethesda, they should change the BSOD to a photo of him saying “It just works”
with no empathy for or understanding of how games get made.
I don’t work on the industry, but I do mess around with Godot and have fiddled with modding Skyrim and Fallout. I understand part of the limitations of Bethesda’s own engine, or at least those older versions of it. I understand how often you can find yourself “fighting” the engine. Sticking with it for a game with space exploration was probably a bad idea. That decision can be easily thrown as coming from high up, “use everything in house”, much like how EA forces nearly every game to use DICE’s Frostbite.
But then you have stranger decisions, like “space exploration is just fast traveling to specific celestial bodies”. Having fast travel is one thing, all travel being fast travel, well, it’s just not fun. “Inventory interface will be like Skyrim, but slightly better” - why use some 70% of the screen to show the model of the item? Why not make a neat table with all the info exposed like the one in SkyUI mod? You could have weight, value, quantity in different columns and still have space to show the item model.
Now, Emil could’ve explained why some decisions were made. He didn’t. So it comes out as an empty rant.
Also Disney: Sorry, money-cows fans, but we do not understand what is this “quality” thing you speak of. Our panel of highly skilled market analysts fail to identify any correlation between it and higher profits, so we ignore it.
There’s just no way for us to turn this into a live service or aggressively monetise it through microtransactions or battlepasses so our hands are tied.
The irony is that they already have a game that allows for all that predatory shit, The Old Republic MMORPG.
That’ll vary from person to person, as it can give insight into how they see themselves and what they expect of relationships, possibly other very different things. After all, someone remaining virgin because they firmly believe it should only happen after marriage is very different from someone who is just too socially awkward. A past trauma could also be a reason, so, again, it’s something to better know and understand the person.
If they play poorly after years, they don’t lack talent, they lack doing the right thing. If you train the wrong thing over and over thinking it’s right, you may never figure out the problem
HD textures/ENB are just graphics, which aren’t really needed. The Unofficial Skyrim Patch, on the other hand, is a must have, it fixes fuckloads of bugs (and the fortify restoration alchemy/enchanting exploit), reduces the chance of crashes and adds a bit of deleted or inaccessible content
