why is it so difficult select text from posts?

Good morning, English isn’t my first language and it happens quie often that I need to select a good chunk of text to translate it with DeepL, why, in often cases, is impossible but select the title of an article that Lemmy’s bot has summarised? I would appreciate, and I am pretty confident I am not the only one, if the...

Try Photon if you are willing to change your client. It’s web-based so you can select almost everything

By simply installing and configuring Arch, one can learn a lot about GNU/Linux. Even when OP won’t use Arch as primary OS, it’s a valuable experience.

    Using Rust, Chrome and NixOS to Take Headless Screenshots for Social Sharing (lgug2z.com)

    Found some time this past weekend to work on a little “passion feature” that I’ve been wanting to implement for a while now; sharing the technical write-up for anyone else who is interested in automating headless screenshots with these tools or with others (the knowledge is pretty transferable!)

    I made it to Linux! What is your must-have FOSS or Free Software for linux?

    Thank you so much, comrades! I am feeling pretty comfortable with linux mint, and now would like some suggestions for some absolutely necessary FOSS or free license software for the OS. So far I have the standard, Firefox, ThunderBird, LibreOffice, yada yada. Thank you again to everyone on the linux comm! sankara-salute

    What are the recommended scripting languages for complex shell scripts beyond bash?

    I’ve been struggling with a rather complex shell script, and it’s becoming apparent that Bash might not be the best choice for this particular task. While I usually gravitate towards statically typed languages like Go or Rust, I’ve noticed that many people recommend alternative languages such as Lua or Python for scripting...

    What is the best linux alternative to OneNote?

    I’ve no problem with using LibreOffice for most of my document needs, but i haven’t found a good substitute for microsoft’s OneNote yet. I mainly use it to plan my RPG games and it helps a lot. What alternatives are there for organizing notes on linux, with similar features to those that OneNote provides?

    starman,
    @starman@programming.dev avatar

    I’m not sure what features of OneNote you are talking about, but maybe logseq will suit your needs.

    starman,

    I’d suggest you EndeavourOR or Arch.

    There is also NixOS, but you will loose the ability to use GNU/Linux for CI/CD and programming, like you did before learning nix.

    [Question] Which shell prompt do you use and why?

    Hi. I’ve been using powerlevel10k for a long time, but a few days ago, I decided I wanted to customize it a bit. I opened the .p10k.zsh file, and I was shocked. It’s really massive, with TONS of options. I’ve been digging through for a few hours already, and it’s absolutely amazing how much you can customize it without...
