Player2,

I appreciate that they are going to release QoL updates like this to everyone as an update instead of just to DLC buyers. I’ll probably buy it anyway but it’s still nice

Next Samsung Galaxy Buds to have on-device AI for language translation (www.sammobile.com)

It reportedly has the capability to translate languages in real-time during voice calls, video calls, and face-to-face. The feature is said to be better than language translation on Google’s Pixel Buds as the former doesn’t require an active internet connection.

Player2,

Claims not to need active internet connection

How often do you use "AI" to reply to your messages, if at all?

The recent chat bot advances have pretty much changed my life. I used to get anxiety by receiving mails and IMs, sometimes even from friends. I lost friendships over not replying. My main issue being that I am sometimes get completely stuck in a loop of how to formulate things in the best way to the point of just abandoning the...

Player2,

Definitely use it sometimes to see what a mathematical formula thinks the right tone is for the kind of email I want to write for example

Player2,

How?

Player2,

So you don’t see the characters, you don’t see the misunderstanding that it isn’t a fence, and you don’t find out that he is doing calligraphy. Do know it says ‘minimum’ though.

That doesn’t really seem like a comic strip to me

Player2,

I was watching some of the behind the scenes extras and it’s incredible just how many tiny references they put into every scene. Clearly a lot of care has gone into it

Player2,

At first the person thought it was an earlier month, and upon looking at a calendar they realize that they also thought it was an earlier year.

Player2, (edited )

Not sure if this already exists in some form, but I want something that always records where I’ve been. I am a very forgetful person and the Google maps timeline feature has been very helpful more than a handful of times. Unfortunately, it means that Google knows exactly where I’ve been also…

I just want to be able to check where I was the afternoon of a random Tuesday three years ago!

Player2,

But why do that when you can just appeal to emotion 👍

Player2,

Janeway did nothing wrong

Player2,

Painted bicycle gutters are car infrastructure. Bicycle infrastructure would be to remove a car lane and have a concrete barrier (or remove the road entirely)

In north America

Probably not the same one that the person replied to lives in

Is there a Spotify alternative that has no ads?

I pay for Spotify for 7 years or so now and i'm so sick of all the ads. After every update there seems to be an: oops, sorry, you have ads now. Podcasts are filled with ads. I was just listening to a podcast where they shoved in 3 ads mid-sentence. How long until musicians put ads in their songs. I'm just so sick of it.

Player2,

Spotify patcher to spoof premium features

Player2,

Pure apple juice is not clear, it has to be specifically processed to be that way

Player2,

Interesting, whenever I would make it it would always come out kind of thicker and brownish, especially as it stood around (oxidation I guess). Probably varies by the kind of apple, but the more ‘natural’ kinds I have found at the store also tend to be pretty brown, certainly not clear.

Player2,

‘scientists are concerned’ and ‘atmospheric holes’ implies something a bit scarier than a short light phenomenon to me, bad headline

Player2,

What a spectacularly realistic daily use case.

Player2,

Check the OP, it’s specifically talking about someone that works at an office job. You don’t have to be a car hater to realize that most pickup trucks are almost never used for the purpose you mention, even if you can think of exceptions.

Player2,

I have never in my life seen a pickup truck towing a race car. I have seen plenty idling in front of schools and at drive throughs.

People love buying things they don’t really need for the peace of mind of ‘but sometimes.’ I would remind those people that rentals are a thing that exists.

Player2,

Small form factor computers are a lot easier with water cooling. That way the GPU can be put right next to the motherboard, and the CPU radiator moved away from that area.

Free and Open Source Software

(free as in freedom)

Player2,

Wait until they find out how much water goes into meat and clothing production

Player2,

Maybe I just hate change, but isn’t it much more difficult to differentiate between grass and water with the new colors? I find myself really preferring the old version, though I am used to it

Player2,

The locations are arbitrary, it’s just visualizing total land usage. In reality everything would be intermixed

Player2,

Private mansions, estates, forests I would imagine

Forestry company: www.weyerhaeuser.com

Player2,

The position on the diagram is arbitrary, it just shows the proportion of land use type

Player2,

Most likely part of ‘urban commercial’ and the housing sections

Player2,

Not to worry for you see, the ‘single slice of pizza’ you mention is actually a Mega Slice, which is probably at least 3 times bigger than a regular slice.

Apple announces that RCS support is coming to iPhone next year (9to5mac.com)

In a surprising move, Apple has announced today that it will adopt the RCS (Rich Communication Services) messaging standard. The feature will launch via a software update “later next year” and bring a wide range of iMessage-style features to messaging between iPhone and Android users....

Player2,

Not sure if you’re serious, but as someone who graduated a US high school just a few years ago, yes young people actually do care about stupid things like this. Real otherwise completely normal seeming people discriminate based on bubble color.

Player2,

So you’re the reason we had separate sections for genders and known partners weren’t allowed to sit together

Player2,

Also checking that it’s running Anduril 2

Player2,

Definitely, it makes sense to only keep making the new internal components past the short term
