How often do you use "AI" to reply to your messages, if at all?

The recent chat bot advances have pretty much changed my life. I used to get anxiety by receiving mails and IMs, sometimes even from friends. I lost friendships over not replying. My main issue being that I am sometimes get completely stuck in a loop of how to formulate things in the best way to the point of just abandoning the...

pufferfischerpulver,

No actually! It’s not a problem for me to write text per se. Actually it’s a significant part of my job to write guidelines, documentation, etc.

What’s difficult about replying to people is putting my opinions in relation to the other’s expectations.

pufferfischerpulver,

Your last paragraph is interesting! I can feel similar effects actually. I feel more and more confident in the way I would reply. Most of the times I know what and how to write, seeing that validated helps.

And ChatGPT has definitely a tendency for complicated wording.

pufferfischerpulver,

I debated whether I should write LLMs or AI. Generally I dislike AI as well, but choose it due to it’s popularity. Definitely share your sentiment though!

pufferfischerpulver,

Understandable! I wouldn’t want to just talk to a chat bot either, whilst thinking I’m talking to a friend.

The way I use it is mostly to get a starting point from which I’ll edit further. Sometimes the generated response is bang on though and I admit I have just copy pasted.

pufferfischerpulver,

This is pretty much how I use it as well!! I wasn’t very detailed in the op.

And yes, the positive feedback is gold!

pufferfischerpulver,

Thank you! I probably could have been more elaborate in the op. But it doesn’t seem like people really paid attention to it regardless. I don’t just plop in a message I received and go with whatever response. I sanitize the received message of personal information as much as possible, then I let the LLM know what I want to say, and then use the response as a starting point which I’ll further edit. Admittedly sometimes I get something that is just bang on and I’ll copy paste. But it rarely happens since the model can’t match my personal writing style.

As you recognise, it’s still my thoughts and feelings. It’s akin to having a secretary writing drafts for you maybe? Not that I would know anything about having a secretary, ha!

pufferfischerpulver,

There are no class differences! You’re not workers, you’re the same as me, the billionaire emerald mine kid. Why would you make yourself feel less by being in some kind of lords-and-peasants union? Wow I’m so smart!!

Fuck I hate this piece as shit and I hope he just dies soon.

pufferfischerpulver,

pufferfischerpulver,

Curry, you said it yourself, a very exotic spice mix!

Was möchten Sie denn sonst noch Sie Schnösel?

pufferfischerpulver,

pufferfischerpulver,

The four ruffians? The king of England, the king of England, the king of England, and the king of England. Fucking showed the bastards.

pufferfischerpulver, (edited )

Thank you for the suggestion! A gasket sealent is an excellent idea, I might just do that in a free moment.

As for the S7, I hate it. I’ve had it completely disassembled three times already, I’m on the second click box and it’s generally a pain to use as well. No comparison to even a cheap nexus inter 7.

My biggest problem with it though is that it seems to refuse to just die completely, and thus so far I couldn’t justify a replacement. That plus the hassle of changing a planetary gear in general, if you don’t want an entire wheel + gearbox assembly.

It’s a true blessing from the gods that they don’t produce it anymore.

pufferfischerpulver,

Auch ne gute Idee, danke! Jedenfalls kurzfristig weniger Zeitaufwand als abdichten.

pufferfischerpulver,

Maybe there could be a program where the guns aren’t just bought back but resold in conflict areas around the world. Think the middle east or select parts of the African continent. There’s always someone to support with some discounted small arms am I right?

How about 332 billion worth of small arms to Israel (worth at least double with all the sick optics and flashlighs). That’s a steal and I’m sure Congress could find it in the budget. Hamas would have no chance against some blinged out ARs.

pufferfischerpulver,

The cheapest 256 SATA SSD i can find is 15€. The cheapest 512 GB is 24€. That’s a 9€ difference for double the capacity at retail prices. I can only imagine how marginal the cost savings for a big manufacturer like valve would be.

pufferfischerpulver,

Ok. Schule braucht also mehr Geld - JA, ABSOLUT!!

Sarah Wagenknecht, wahrscheinlich

pufferfischerpulver,

Wer hat Saka’s Tisch?

pufferfischerpulver,

Ok, but hear me out, we can make atoms go boooooom so what about that???

pufferfischerpulver,

I keep offering my partner a way out via either a pi hole or (my current setup) adguard. They literally don’t want it. Why? It doesn’t bother them and sometimes you have to watch the ads for perks in games. Even tried to show them that you can have per App rules etc.

But no. It’s not a big deal. Using any of their devices gives me an aneurysm, I keep forgetting how bad mobile ads and browser ads are. Smh

pufferfischerpulver,

I use adguard. Bought the app years ago and I couldn’t be happier. It’s especially great because some secure apps break with their traffic routed through it and it’s super easy to configure.

pufferfischerpulver,

Wait 30 years of school inequality and now they have a parallel society and a gang problem?

Surely these things don’t have anything to do with each other.

pufferfischerpulver,

Kind krank, Partner krank, ich krank. Schon seit ner Woche. Also steht überleben an.

pufferfischerpulver,

Same thing really. Or the US killing the terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Yemen, and Pakistan. All stellar terrorist free, prospering democratic nations! Like Germany! Murder truly is the answer.

pufferfischerpulver,

The only problem I have with it is that it has no amoled dark theme. Still my default browser though.

pufferfischerpulver,

All hail the M.O.A.B. praise be thy blast radius.

pufferfischerpulver,

I’ve been sailing the high seas for almost 20 years now. It’s never been easier to pirate things. Stremio and a well known service honestly beats all steaming services both in quantity and quality of the “catalogue”. At least for English language content.

pufferfischerpulver,

Voice recognition is the most infuriating replacement for physical buttons.

Shrinkflation hits IKEA Family by removing 5% discount (i.imgur.com)

IKEA Family is a membership program, like grocery store memberships. The only real feature of the program was their 5% discount. But now, they are getting rid of it to focus on “New Lower Price offers”. I’m not holding my breath that their prices are going to come down anytime soon....

pufferfischerpulver,

Maybe not in the long run, but please someone think of the next fiscal quarter!!

pufferfischerpulver,

It’s a genocide according to the UN once there’s a resolution from the UN calling it that. It’s that easy. People working for the UN are not the institution UN.

That being said, what’s happening to the civilians in Gaza is absolutely horrific.

pufferfischerpulver,

The line “It’s the rap god, back with a new track” is a stylized and self-assured way to start a rap, reflecting the braggadocio often found in hip-hop culture. It’s not necessarily something I would always use, but it’s emblematic of the confidence and assertive persona many rappers adopt when performing. The phrase “rap god” could be a nod to songs by well-known artists that have used similar terms to assert their dominance in the rap game. Each rap or artist might have a unique way of introducing their work, and this is just one example.

pufferfischerpulver,

By that time the websites will use LLMs to weave all that shit into the articles you read. Perfecting the method of ever so slowly conditioning you after the vision of some coked up marketing exec marketing algorithm’s personalised hellhole, based on your very private and personal desires.
The average user will read about yet another school shooting and leave the article wishing for a delicious and refreshing coke to wash down the bad taste in their mouth, like only real coca cola can, which is now improved in flavour and available in a refrigeration section near your habitat. Because when the world let’s you down, coca cola will pick you up!

pufferfischerpulver,

Not agreeing with what Israel is doing at all. But equalling the bombing of a convoy of ambulances, albeit absolutely despicable, is not the same as the systematic, industrial scale eradication of millions of people. It’s really making the Holocaust seems less insane than it was. Again, not that that gives the Israeli government a carte blanche.

pufferfischerpulver,

I mean he’s a white male, for them he’s more American than most of the country.

pufferfischerpulver,

What would the alternative be? A genuine question. I’m not a Facebook fan at all but here in Denmark so much is on Facebook. Announcements of the local playground, cafés, events, almost everyone uses messenger. It’s insane. And if it’s not on FB then it’s on Instagram.

pufferfischerpulver,

I don’t know. But mastadon is hardly an alternative to Facebook or Instagram.

pufferfischerpulver,

Ads are what Google makes money with. That’s their core business. I would argue most of what they offer is just a different way of either delivering you ads or farming your data for…ads.

Radio München - Microsoft kontrolliert automatisiert jetzt alles ... (www.radiomuenchen.net) German

pufferfischerpulver,

Can we turn Africa, the entire continent, into one mega city? And then the rest of the planet gets to relax.

We could call it mega city one!
