For the most part, I only play a single (sub-)genre and nothing else. The E3 was a nice event to get up to speed on anything else. I don’t care enough to keep up with all these different presentations and announcements if they are not bundled together. I’ll kinda miss it.

Warum der Schock? Durch Corona haben die Schüler bis zu zwei Schuljahre quasi verloren, gerade die frühen Klassenstufen. Zusammen mit den bereits vorher bestehenden Problemen an unserem Schulsystem konnte da ja nichts werden.

According to my earliest photo taken, I got my current phone about 5,5 years ago. It still runs perfectly fine and I have yet to encounter performance problems on any app I have used. Haven’t even used up more than 50% of its memory. The battery still holds the entire day. Why would I ever get another phone until it breaks? Granted, I don’t play any games besides the occasional handheld emulation on long train rides and I’m on an outdated android version, that’s not supported anymore I believe.

Das hat damit weniger zu tun, es werden nicht bewusst ineffektive Methoden gewählt. Männer wählen häufiger ‘harte’ Suizidmethoden. Darunter versteht man in der Regel physisches Trauma - von einem Dach springen oder sich vor einen Zug werfen. Frauen greifen eher zu ‘weichen’ oder ‘milden’ Methoden, was sich oft auf eine Überdosis an bestimmten Medikamenten beläuft. Beides hat die klare Intention zu sterben, aber mit einer Überdosis kann man gefunden und gerettet werden.

Wenn ich mich korrekt an eine ähnliche Studie erinnere, dann mag diese Aussage stimmen. Allerdings nur bis zu einem gewissen Alter. Im hohen Alter, wenn die Kinder längst das Nest verlassen haben, sind Eltern im Schnitt glücklicher. Vermutlich allein schon durch die durchschnittlich geringere Einsamkeit im Alter, insbesondere wenn dann noch weitere Generationen folgen. Man schaut wohl auch positiver auf sein Leben zurück - aber das mag von Kind zu Kind variieren.

Allerdings selbst wenn das so komplett stimmen sollte, dann bevorzuge ich das Glück auch in meinen besten Jahren. Wer weiß ob ich es im Alter noch genießen könnte, sollte ich dort überhaupt ankommen.

I block shorts on youtube, I don’t care for short form content. Give me those hour long analysis type videos. Without shorts youtube still does a rather poor job at recommending new stuff.

That being said, shorts are being more addictive by nature since the barrier of entry to watch ‘one more’ is so low. If you engage with them on any app, you will waste more time on your phone.

Firefox has an addon called “Hide shorts for youtube”. I don’t use any other browser on any device.

That’s still pretty hit or miss for me. I’ve watched a video about cats exactly once a few weeks ago when my cat did something strange, and my recommendations are still littered with click-bait videos about certain cat behaviors. I watch tons of the aforementioned hour long analysis videos and I still need to resort to playlists compiling them instead of getting recommendations. To me, it seems the algorithm really wants to push certain types of content and will flood me with them if I so much as hover a video too long. But it really dislikes other types of content and almost hides them on purpose, despite me liking them. My best guess would be that longer videos have less ads per minute of content and are therefore not recommended as much, but I couldn’t tell, I started blocking ads on Youtube when they added a second ad banner back in the day - long before video ads were a thing.

I don’t like emojis and never used them on purpose, just a few times before I found a setting to prevent the auto-replacement function in other apps. I kinda prefer pure text, couldn’t tell you why. Maybe because they distract the eye too much. But for the same reason I dislike profile pictures, awards and gif/image reactions.

Yep, discord is an absolute eye sore. You go on any popular server and every major post is covered in animated rainbow barf - or super reactions as they call them.

Haven’t used Matrix, but profile pictures and gif/image reactions are find in chat apps when they are clearly seperated. It’s just a nightmare if you need to navigate through them on your limited screen space like on reddit or lemmy.

Of couse they do. For how forgettable the Mario movie was, it basically printed money. If they want to get me hyped they could announce something in the spirit of Twilight Princess instead of a throw-away comedy. But this would make less money and therefore wont be made.

Die Schlagzeile sieht man regelmässig und es wurmt mich fast jedes Mal. Warum bekommen diese Leute überhaupt eine Plattform? Sicher gibt es ab und an valide Gründe eine Aussage in den richtigen Kontext zu rücken oder richtig zu stellen, aber das ist doch Schwachsinn. Die Leute haben da wortwörtlich lange Zeit Pseudokokain verkauft damit die echten Kokser nicht so auffallen.

Es muss jedem bewusst sein, dass man damit eine Umgebung schafft in der jeder Mensch nach Herzenslust echtes Kokain nehmen kann. Es sieht identisch aus und wird auf die gleiche Art und Weise konsumiert. Ignorieren wir kurz meinen Zynismus und gehen davon aus, dass es nicht die Absicht dahinter war - dann wurde dieser Effekt zumindest bewusst hingenommen. Was ehrlich gesagt nicht besser ist.

But seriously, I don’t get the problem with sex work. It’s not like that’s in any way shape or form relevant for her teaching capabilities. Sex does not become immoral just because you point a camera at it and all these people had to have sex to have children in the first place. Where’s the outrage about children living with their parents? These monsters have sex with each other! Some even while the children are at home!

I think you misunderstood. There certainly are problems with sex work. Woman being forced into it and living under terrible conditions for example is a big problem with the industry. But this post is about the outrage of other people. What I certainly don’t get is the problem people see in others doing sex work voluntarily. There is nothing morally wrong with having an OnlyFans account or doing any other type of sex work if you chose too. It is just as valid a choice as any other type of work. We should just make sure the conditions aren’t abusive.
