BradleyUffner,

I have fond memories of trying to fly my ship into the sun and just kind of bouncing off of it.

BradleyUffner,

My fiance is a professor and things I’ve heard about the last few years blow my mind. It’s not so much what they are doing exactly, but how shocked and offended they get if she asks them to stop.

BradleyUffner,

And get your login details stolen because they didn’t hah and salt passwords correctly when the site is almost immediately hacked.

BradleyUffner,

Pancakes, bumblebee, gazpacho soup

BradleyUffner,

they still have a savings cushion from the government covid assistance

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Why do people hate on mobile games, call them "not real games" and mock them, when some mobile-exclusive games are the best games I've played?

The Infinity Blade or Minigore series, for example, or anything made by Illusion Labs. These games are genius and most consoles don’t even have a touch screen or utilise it well like some smartphone games do....

BradleyUffner,

The vast majority of mobile games are not designed to be good games. They are designed to be addictive vehicles for advertising and micro transactions.

BradleyUffner,

Everyone seems to have a story like this, which makes me think that we might actually be just as loud as the people we complain about without realizing it. Think about it. It’s not like we can actually hear what we sound like from the floor below while we are “softly walking around” upstairs.

BradleyUffner,

There are PCs that solve that issue too.

BradleyUffner,

The Elder Lord Farzghiqud absorbs the data into his eternal glorious form where it will be analyzed and used for the eventual enslavement of your species.

All hail Farzghiqud!

BradleyUffner,

With a far less engaging story.

BradleyUffner,

They get to pick which 20% of you to burn though.

BradleyUffner,

I still like Google in general. I don’t agree with everything they do, but in total I feel that I get more value from using their products than I would be able to get from other products. In my opinion, the minimal cost to my privacy is far outweighed by the value-add.

If that’s not true for others, I’m not going to give them a hard time about it. Use what you want to use.

BradleyUffner,

When you comment to Bluetooth, it asks your phone to share call, contact and SMS information.

So they are intercepting your calls and messages with your permission? I don’t see the problem. If you don’t want them to do that, click “deny” when your phone asks if you want to share them with the car.

BradleyUffner,

It doesn’t create more daylight. It creates more useful daylight. Daylight while we are sleeping is less useful to us than daylight while we are awake

BradleyUffner,

Play Store search is horrible. You can literally search for the exact name of the app you want and NOT have it anywhere in the results.

BradleyUffner,

No, it did really happen. Usually with apps that didn’t have very high installation counts. I have first hand experience with it as the author and publisher of an app. People could literally search for the exact name of my app and get all kinds of other results, but not my app. I’d have to send them a direct link to the listing.

BradleyUffner,

I got bored and stopped playing after the 50th “make the sphere spin” mini game

BradleyUffner,

I’d like to think so, but it really is up to the court to interpret that language.

BradleyUffner,

I like the flexibility and freedom.
I dislike all the duplicate stories clogging the feed

BradleyUffner,

And maintainable code is even cheaper and more useful than that in the long run.

BradleyUffner,

No, not chewing. POP’n.

He had it com’n. He had it com’n. He only had himself to blame.

Second panel:
Wolf by a tree looking at a man jogging. "What are you running from, apex predator"

Third panel:
Wolf: "Are you chasing prey?" "You need to conserve energy"

Last panel:
[second wolf peeking in] "The hell is that guy doing"
[first wolf] "I don't know. I don't understand"
BradleyUffner,

I used to refer to going to the gym as the “farm work simulator”. It always amazed me that society progressed to the point where physical labor isn’t necessary, but we chose to pay money, so that we can pretend to do it, in order to live longer

BradleyUffner,

The beast with a billion backs!

BradleyUffner,

How would you even go about enforcing this? Anyone with even basic skills can write a very simple web browser that just makes http requests and displays the output

BradleyUffner,

Hmm, I’ve always felt the opposite. Every time I see something advertising itself as “premium” it always drops down a few quality notches in my head. If your product is that good, why do you have to tell people about it?

BradleyUffner,

No problems at all for me using Nova.

BradleyUffner,

Yes, because people that care about not killing Innocents would say “why don’t we go in shoot just the terrorist instead of leveling the whole block?”

BradleyUffner,
BradleyUffner,

It was probably placed in the image to help judge scale when composing it, and they just forgot to remove it.

BradleyUffner,

Landlords being allowed to permanently take rentals off the market (by pretending to do construction work on them forever) to artificially reduce supply and drive up prices is a major problem. This practice used to be blocked by inspection laws that were removed.

BradleyUffner,

MVNOs like Ting or Fi are amazing.

BradleyUffner,

For end users, a superapp is an application that provides a set of core features while also giving access to independently developed miniapps. For app developers, a superapp is an application integrated with the capabilities of platforms and ecosystems that allows third-parties to develop and publish miniapps.

I may be getting old, but that sounds suspiciously like a “web browser”

BradleyUffner,

That’s really gorgeous. I’m curious what it would look like v-carved with a CNC.

BradleyUffner,

V carving refers to using a conical drill bit on a CNC machine, usually in wood, in order to create interesting patterns that can take advantage of depth.

He is an example of what it can create: https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/872f22a0-c7db-4547-a19b-cba41bbc6dd8.jpeg

This is a CNC machine: https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/94290697-b5af-4618-bc0f-5d7260b4e704.jpeg

Cleaning long tubes? (More a howto/research aid)

I’m looking for some help researching how to clean long tubes, such as maybe 1/4 inch pickup tubes for a water pump that may be 20 feet long. I’ve been able to find hydration bladder cleaning kits that allow for cleaning the first 2 or 3 feet of these tubes, but beyond some sort of high pressure/high flow system with high...

BradleyUffner,

If you have access to both ends, maybe cotton balls and a shop-vac?

BradleyUffner,

For a channel that built it’s reputation on in-depth explanations, if it’s not with explaining then it’s not worth a video.

BradleyUffner,

What is it with people randomly adding “per-se” to sentences where it makes no sense?

BradleyUffner,

My fiancee and I just watched Threshold last night. This cracked us up.

BradleyUffner,

“your password may not start with a special character” (rage)

BradleyUffner,

Not that I don’t believe them, but it’s odd that none of the videos from YouTubers with early access have shown that kind of performance. It makes me wonder if they are trying to set lower expectations for some reason.

BradleyUffner,

Cornish Rex might also be a good choice. They are pretty much dog software running on cat hardware.

BradleyUffner,

Doesn’t he still want the Central Park 5 executed even though they have been proven innocent?

BradleyUffner, (edited )

So? What are you going to do about it?

“Ahhh, send you more money and weapons I guess.”
