Hey you have multi-colored Fiji water over there? I’ll barely find even regular

CodingCarpenter,

That’s for the best Fiji Water sucks

vivadanang,

he’s mixing beverage powders into the same container over and over. I love microplastic flavor!

yo this dude really carrying around colored water everywhere he goes, as a prop, hahahahahaha

ech,

Probably a mix-drink thing. Like koolaid or something.

Breezy,

If it was my high school it would also have vodka in it.

GBU_28,

Ur cool

Breezy,

Naw we were stupid.

While I agree that this looks cool, I really don't think humans should drink things that are those colors.

Water goes with everything.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

Maybe it’s just water with food coloring.

guyrocket,
@guyrocket@kbin.social avatar

I doubt it. That seems highly unlikely.

But even if it is, some food colorings in the US are unsafe and banned in other countries.

Earthwormjim91,

It’s probably just one of the flavor enhancers like Mio given he is reusing a Fiji bottle, which is just plain water.

GBU_28,

Which contains …

LifeInMultipleChoice,

The souls of the extinct indinginous species that were mowed down by a barrage of alien test tubes fetuses shot down from The Hub that populated the earth with transforming tech dynos? Brought to you by Michael Bay, sponsored by Hasbro

Or was it water or colorings? I got lost

SkyeStarfall,

Honestly, most of the colour you see in food these days is just food colouring.

Sibbo,

Aha, and with water he goes topless. Transparent, alright

Fester,

The emperor’s new beverage

vivadanang,

Fiji is a premium brand. (of water stolen from islanders who get little to zilch in return for their plundered resources)

Pepsi… not so much

This is brilliant.

    Tap water in glass or steel ftw.

    You really should read wikipedia about microplastics.

  • Neve8028,

    It’s the same bottle but with different colored drink mix in it. Holy shit. Literally a kindergartener would be able to understand this.

    Peppycito, in Your Sweaters Are Garbage: The quality of knitwear has cratered. Even expensive sweaters have lost their hefty, lush glory.

    As a textile geek I’ve been watching this happen for years. I bought some underpants and liked them so bought another package. The bag had a different design but I thought nothing of it. When I opened the new bag the cloth felt rougher and way flimsier. I actually weighed them and the new ones were 1 gram less than the ones I liked. Immediately noticeable.

    Enshittification of the clothes on your back has been in full swing for a while.

    I wish I could get away with wearing whatever I want but I work in construction so shit gets ruined almost immediately on the job. I love the dudes plaid pants.

    Have you seen what construction workers in Japan wear? It’s a subculture with their own style: baggy knickerbockers and jika tabi boots.

    Anyways, maybe you can experiment with fashion when you’re not on the job 👍

    My fleece is perfectly adequate, lasted me ten years, and cost $50. This seems like a pretty bougie problem.

    @anon6789@lemmy.world avatar

    I haven’t jumped on the wool sock thing yet that everyone goes on about, but I tried wool blankets on the bed last year and it was amazing. For much less thickness than a synthetic filled comforter, I felt as warm or warmer, but it never got that trapped heat muggy feeling when you get too hot. The too hot just didn’t happen anymore. The thermoregulation was just perfect for me.

    Makes sense now why sheep are covered with wool and not polyfill 😁

    PS, I’m talking simple $20 milsurp type blankets, not these fancy $100 to $1000 things I see promoted now and then.

    Crackhappy,
    @Crackhappy@lemmy.world avatar

    It was a massive pain but I am very happy everything i crocheted for my kids has been wool.

    Marino wool socks and other garments is such a change from when I was a child where wool meant itchy fabric. Love my socks for winter and sports.

    Pons_Aelius, in Your Sweaters Are Garbage: The quality of knitwear has cratered. Even expensive sweaters have lost their hefty, lush glory.

    A $3,200 Gucci “wool cardigan,” for example, is actually half polyamide when you read the fine print.

    You are not paying for the materials, you are paying for the label.

    Fashion, by its very nature, is designed for you to constantly buy and discard clothes, not because you need to but to stay fashionable.

    Jilanico,
    @Jilanico@lemmy.world avatar

    I’d narrow the blame to fast fashion, which started in the late 1990s. Fashion in general has been with us since ancient times.

    Pons_Aelius,

    I have to disagree.

    The yearly style thing has been around since the beginning of the 20th century.

    The constant churning of styles via yearly fashion shows has been going on all that time.

    Fast fashion started as cheap copies made quickly to mimic the latest Paris/London/Milan/NY/Sydney Fashion shows by no name brands.

    Fast fashion is a newish symptom, not the cause.

    Jilanico,
    @Jilanico@lemmy.world avatar

    Good points 👍

    qdJzXuisAndVQb2,

    This is obscene. I don’t have the money to look at these labels, but I had alwqys assumed you got a nice, but incredibly overpriced, product. It now seems like you just get the overpriced part. That’s ridiculous. How long can luxury brands survive purely coasting off their historical cachet?

    Pons_Aelius,

    Luxury brands (Eg: Anything owned by LVMH ) have not been about quality for decades.

    What they are for is taking money from people who are not rich, most often up to their eyeballs in debt, so they can cosplay to others that they are.

    If you want quality woollen sweaters. Look for someone selling 100% Merino wool. It may be a few hundred dollars but it will last for years.

    Uranium3006,
    @Uranium3006@kbin.social avatar

    they're basically exit scamming their brands. apparently this is a cycle that happens a lot. brand starts out nice in fancy shops, they water it down a little, they water it down a lot and now it's at walmart, and then they discontinue the brand name, having exausted it
