  • Ulv,

Its easier too carry a depressed mouse than a depressed halfman

I’m going to need to see the numbers.

mindbleach, in I’m actually something of a dumbo chungus myself

“Pippen’s only a nickname. My given name is Perigrine.”

    “What’s Merry short for?”

“'Cause he’s a hobbit. What’re you tall for, then?”

    cobra89, in Toss me

Read the article about this and the policy seems really really dumb. If parents miss the 8:30am deadline they have to wait until 10am. So they have to waste an hour and a half of their day because a school administrator can’t be arsed to walk to the gate and take the child inside?

Like if parents are resorting to throwing their child over a 6ft tall fence maybe take a look at your policies that are making people resort to that?

Not to excuse the parents, cuz they’re dumb too.

    Noughmad,

You don’t know many gardeners then. Try making a single step in their cabbage patch.

    mosiacmango,

Boromir was dead. My homies aren’t.

    rockSlayer,

When you’re done with your naked cuddle sesh, just say no homo after the gentle forehead kiss

    TheRealLinga,

    Don’t forget the socks

    essellburns,

I have an idea. It might be controversial but hear me out…

    amio, in Antidepressants or Tolkien

19/24, one of the accents threw me off. Also some of these are just wrong - sildenafil (Viagra), amantadine and at least one more are not antidepressants at all, and a few of the remaining ones are truly super obscure. "Introduced in Russia in the late 60s", "Indian antidepressant from 1982", "Formerly marketed in Spain and Marocco" etc

    smeg,

Viagra is an antidepressant in a very indirect way, in that you usually feel quite a bit happier after making use of its effects!

    amio,

At first I thought you were talking about something like whatever-iazid, the first "antidepressant" that was actually an antibiotic and the antidepressive effect was completely accidental. But yeah, I suppose that makes sense, too.

    Grass,

For the purposes of the quiz just being a drug of some sort is probably close enough to add a few more rounds. One might also argue that Viagra makes a peen harder to depress? Anyway if they didn’t put in fake Tolkien names or names from other authors I figure it’s fine.

    Masimatutu, in Wait, no...

I’m pretty sure Sméagol is just a translation of the “real” name (Trahald or something IIRC), but I dunno if it’s an actual name

PZK, in But first they would need to invent some tape

This would create quite an evil mouse. I imagine the risk here is that the mouse would break free and run away with the ring and bring it to Sauron.

Edit: Someone already beat me to it.

    huf,

it would take the cookie, and you know what happens when you give a mouse a cookie

    Evilsandwichman,

the mouse would break free and run away

You need legs to run away

    Adkml,

Also good luck finding an invisible mouse.

    Got_Bent,

Unrelated but your comment reminds me of a time when my daughter was young.

There was some show on TV where a guy fell out of a tall building plummeting to his death (dramatized, not real).

My daughter watches this and screams, “wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!”

I about burst several internal organs laughing at that one.

    jopepa,

That’s hilarious. If they released a Mystery Science Theater type of series with kids commentary I’d cash in all my pto binging all that unexpected nonsense.

    spongeborgcubepants,

My reaction is to fall asleep every time

WashedOver, in I wonder if anyone has managed to break this record since

I think this is confused Sauron’s main job is engraving little poems into home-made jewellery of which he takes a little portion of his day out to try and subjugate all Middle Earth and give the orcs rights.

Dozzi92, in If only it were not so
    @Dozzi92@lemmy.world avatar

Except the Hobbit movies actually suck, and Faromir just isn’t Boromir. Couldn’t even die right.

    FilthyShrooms,

Idk, I liked the first one quite a bit, and the second one was mostly decent, all of my big issues are with the 3rd movie

    Daisyifyoudo,

The Hobbit clearly suffers from trying to force a 90 min movie into 8 hours. Someone on Lemmy mentioned that there was an edit (90 min, or 2 hrs maybe? ) that was fantastic. Haven’t seen it though.

    Dozzi92,
    @Dozzi92@lemmy.world avatar

Yeah, but you can’t magically make Tom Bombadil appear. Absolute travesty that you pull so much shit out of your ass but you don’t put in a character from the book (he is kinda meaningless, but it’s beside the point).

    Daisyifyoudo,

But hey, we got unnecessary Legolas 🙄

    YeetPics, in wtf is this?
