To be fair tho I live in Chicago and there’s 2 of these places by me. But there’s another 2 that I can get a loaded combo with fries and a drink for about $10 USD and it’s always fresh and delicious.

No link but American wild burger, the one in the city shut down apparently but there’s still one in the suburbs. Add bacon cheese and BBQ sauce and you’re at a little over $20 for a burger with no fries.

If you go to Google maps and just type burgers and filter price $20+ or $30+ there are plenty burger bars that will match that criteria.

Yeah I’ve been part of a group of 5-6 players a d we played almost every week until recently it started being much more infrequent.

I think we’re all just burned out on DnD, everyone is going off the rails with their characters and we completely lost sight of our actual objectives and end up in pointless encounters because someone wants a magic item and I sit there twiddling my thumbs while the DM lets the interactions go on way too long.

I wanna play some fun strategy games or something.

Yeah… I feel like I contributed so much more before but managing people, but this is where the money is sadly. I went from supply chain/purchasing/logistics manager to operations manager. I used to be a one man team and single handedly saved maybe $200k this year so far, and took our aged inventory from about $1M to basically nothing, all of our KPIs are primo. This is a company that pulls $10M/yr in revenue… small company.

I got rewarded with spending half my time babysitting the warehouse team, getting reamed by my boss when they’re not getting through things fast enough, and fixing their mistakes and bandaiding bad processes. But I got a 30% raise so I guess it’s worth it? I could be doing so much more.

Check out Timberborn, it doesn’t check all of your boxes but a lot of it revolves around water management - building dams and reservoirs, diverting rivers, surviving dry seasons, etc. At its core it’s just a fun city building game and I highly recommend it if that sounds good to you. Honestly I just choose not to shave, I use a beard trimmer to get down to stubble maybe once a week.

I use YNAB (you need a budget) it’s not free but it’s GREAT for setting savings goals, paying back debt, etc.

It’s also flexible if you need to break your budget for some reason. You can pull from another bucket easily (gas bill is high, pull from emergency savings or cut from gaming), or just overspend and it goes on a report to keep track and plan better.

The best part is peace of mind on big bills - when it comes time to pay taxes or pay for my 6mo car insurance I’ve already been saving 1/12 or 1/6 of that total every month leading up to it. I can put everything in auto pay and never have to worry about the money being there.

It auto categorizes now but it’s still a little tedious, sometime recently they added batch categorizing so I can grab all the restaurants and add that to my Eating Out category but it also forces me to look at my finances every couple days which is a good habit imo.
