I’ll go a step further and say that if your coffee tastes bad in room temperature, it’s bad coffee. It should be better warm, yes. But it should still be nice and drinkable in room temperature.
Also, let people enjoy their things. I also like to add a little milk or sugar every once in a while. It can taste good. People like different things, you know.
This post is mostly for me to look at alternatives. I currently subscribe to Trade. But recently I’ve been hearing about their bad practices like sending packages with wrong weight, or paying very little money to the roasters....
Yeah. A couple of them do. They have like 10-ish single origin roasts among the few of them. But I only like 3 of those. One Nicaraguan, one Ethiopian, and one Colombian.
Trade’s subscription itself is very good. I have no doubt that your family members will be happy with it. The issues come up when you look beyond the subscription itself and read about their business practices.
I haven’t seen anything in the media (Trade is a very niche company, so makes sense). But there have been many discussions online and looks like there have been issues with their behavior for a while. When it comes to coffee, word of mouth means a lot to me. You can read some of the conversation using these links:
For the last few months, I’ve been splitting a bag of coffee beans into 2-3 portions and freezing them. I’ve seen that it extends the freshness by a bit. Now, I’ve been storing them in older coffee bags (the standard sealable ones) since they take up less space than jars and also I’m just reusing something that...
For a total newbie, Linux Mint or PopOS are probably the best options. But EndeavourOS is getting there. There shouldn’t be any issues during the installation if one sticks to the defaults. Only thing is, it doesn’t come with a graphical package manager out of the box. But once that is installed (I think anyone will be happy to write a single terminal command, at least), I don’t see why it’s any harder to use than any other distro.
It’s funny. Because folk, which is kinda close to country, is super interesting as a genre. It’s one of my favorite genres of music, right up there with rock.
Yeah. Had issues getting ID when I first came to US. They mixed up my date of birth, and I needed to go get it corrected. I didn’t even notice it until I almost missed a flight trying to use that ID, which didn’t match with their system. Fortunately I also had my passport with me.
Service providers aren’t actually supposed to know your password. Passwords should always be sent after hashing on client side. Only the hashes are matched on server side.
I’m not an expert in this, and I did look around after reading your comment. Looks like the password is usually sent as-is, then hashed server side, and matched against hashes in the database. So, the hashes are what’s stored in their database. So, ideally, the server shouldn’t know your password. Also, it can be hashed from client side too, but that becomes redundant since everything is tls encrypted anyway.

Is it okay to store coffee beans in old sealable bags?
