In größeren Städten gibt es ja auch Carsharing. Verwende ich dieser Tage auch. Ist ne super Sache, aber beim Wohnort braucht man schon etwas Glück, dass das Angebot passt.

Unter einberechnen aller Kosten inklusive Wertverlust und Batterie hat mich mein Zoe ca 300€ pro Monat gekostet, bei 25000km/Jahr.

Darum kann ich mir kaum vorstellen dass ein Auto in der Preislage bei 40k€ nur ähnlich viel kosten soll.

Batterien für so große Autos sind schwer und brauchen Platz. Aber wenn man sowieso schon eine große Batterie braucht, kann man ja noch etwas mehr Auto außenrum bauen.

Jaa, naja, ich habe in einem anderen Kommentar geschrieben dass mein Zoe mich 300€/ Monat gekostet hat. Ich bin in die Stadt gezogen, zahle 200€ mehr Miete und habe kein Auto mehr. Aber trotzdem habe ich auch ein monatliches Budget für Bahn und Carsharing das halt auch bei 200€ liegt.

Also billiger geworden ist es nicht nach dem Umzug, und das war vor der Inflation dieses Jahr.

I was thinking of creating an anonymous ticketmaster account using public wifi since they block VPNs and just have them email me updates, but they required a phone number for the sign up so I scrapped that idea....

Their website. I don’t have that many favorite music artists. Checking them out once a year to see that they won’t be performing anywhere close to me satisfies this desire 100%.

What are some commonly known facts that are too bizarre for you to believe to be true?

For me it is the fact that our blood contains iron. I earlier used to believe the word stood for some ‘organic element’ since I couldn’t accept we had metal flowing through our supposed carbon-based bodies, till I realized that is where the taste and smell of blood comes from.

Das Bundesverwaltungsgericht hat geurteilt, dass das Protokollieren von Telekommunikationsdaten ohne konkreten Anlass nicht mit EU-Recht vereinbar ist. Justizminister Buschmann (FDP) will nun rasch handeln und die Vorratsdatenspeicherung aus dem Gesetz streichen lassen.

I’m allergic to the word “chemicals” in discussions such as this, because it is too vague to define anything specific. It generally is used as a degradation of a thing that the speaker doesn’t like. But that’s all there is to it. The speaker can just as well say “I’m suspicious of this thing that you hold there”, and this communicates exactly the same thing, maybe with a bit more care about ones words.

Hä? Behauptest du gerade, 3-8 Jahre alte Autos bekommen in Deutschland keine weitere Zulassung? Das ist grober Unsinn. Autos die hier mal eine Zulassung hatten, fallen unter Bestandsschutz.

Solange die Bremsen und das Licht ungefähr so gut funktionieren wie bei Erstzulassung, und ebenso die andere sicherheitsrelevante Technik, kann der TÜV dem Fahrzeug die Zulassung nicht entziehen.

As of today, locally produced renewable power is a scarce resource. Any use of it competes with all other possible uses. The usages who don’t get enough local renewable power get it elsewhere. So the waste argument still holds. Unless maybe you already have a solar panel on your house that generates superfluous power.

Having observed the culture war in the US for a while, my take is that the problem here is not wokeness per se, that is just as cam_i_am stated. The problem with the culture war is that the conservatives pick a fight over every little step towards progressive legistator. They’ll fight tooth and nail so that LGBT+ people do NOT have place in society.

And at that part, the woke people have no choice but to fight back, IF they want to have a place in society.

I have no idea about where in the “post communist part of the EU” you could be. But if you’re in Hungary or Poland, there is no culture war, because the suppression is absolute.
