I do, it’s a reliable way to keep my email inbox uncluttered and I fully control the subscription. No need to unsubscribe by going through a shady link, I don’t need to share my email, etc.

I wish more newsletters would switch to that format.

I’m currently using Inoreader and paying for a supporter subscription to keep it ad-free and for the convenience they provide of having my reading status activated across platforms.

I’m currently using Ruthless Launcher. It kind of reminds me of Lawnchair feature-wise, to me it strikes a good balance between customizability and look.

No idea, I installed it on my Pixel 7 Pro when I was on Android 13, maybe it’s not considered “compatible” with Android 14, or it’s an oversight from the developer?

Starfield group fixing Bethesda's bugs say their job is tough as mods feel an afterthought (www.eurogamer.net)

“What’s more frustrating for those working on SCP, and the wider Starfield modding community, is how difficult it is to work with Starfield’s code without official modding tools and support. This isn’t helped by the delayed mod tools from Bethesda, which the company says are coming at some point next year.”

It’s not a feeling, it is an afterthought

If you own the music copyright, you could self-host it on Funkwhale if you want to go that way. It shouldn’t need a lot of resources too. It’s a federated platform, and relies on ActivityPub.

You want to share it with friends? Good. You want to share it with everyone? Up to you.

I have some large zipper bags that are specifically made to be washed and reused for that kind of stuff.

More users will lead to a more diverse range of opinions, and groups will more fiercely fight for what they think is right when they feel validated in the comments feedback.

The pains of a growing platform.

How would you map a refill shop on OSM? Those places you can go with containers and buy by weight.

Could be handy when I need to listen to a meeting while on the bus without having to waste bandwidth on video.

If you’re using a hardware token like a YubiKey then you do need to enter your PIN before being able to use it.

The main benefit is that you cannot extract the Passkey from the secure element (the token cannot be transformed from what you have to what you know) and it cannot be phished through a fake domain as the challenge-response will not match.

It’s an assymetric cat-and-mouse game.

YouTube does it for revenue and has to spend money to enhance their anti-adblock system, while there is an army of volunteers online who will gladly defeat these enhancements for free with an impact on a massive scale.

Install Audacity, and follow the instruction to add ffmpeg.

From there you’ll be able to open most audio files out there and then export it to another format like mp3.

mp3,
@mp3@lemmy.ca avatar

FYI MKVtoolNix doesn’t do transcoding, it simply allows you inspect/modify metadata and demux/remux data streams into an MKV container.it’s indeed useful and I use it often, but it wouldn’t be for OP’s use-case.

They’ll just rebrand it, like FLoC became Topics API.

You can see the list of federated instances of each instance at example.com/instances

You can also get that data in json format by using example.com/api/v3/federated_instances

lemmy.readme.io/reference/getfederatedinstances

Mastodon and Lemmy are both using the ActivityPub protocol (Lemmy uses some extensions to federate downvotes and some other actions) to communicate between instances, but the API to interrogate a Mastodon, Lemmy, PixelFed or kbin instance will be different.

Sounds like a good idea to make users engage in the community. Just make sure to send the keys in private message to the winners so that the codes aren’t auto-redeemed by bots/etc

Google’s Web Enviroment Integrity API > this is dead now.

Google will just wait it out, like they did with FLoC which was rebranded under the Browsing Topics API name.

Speaking before question period, Heritage Minister Pascale St-Onge said the Conservatives are trying to dictate how the CBC covers a conflict.

“Sometimes the Conservatives say they want to defund the CBC, but it also looks like they want a state broadcaster so they should decide,” she said.

Is there some kind of DRM/authentication scheme in certified controllers, or is it just looking at the device VID/PID?

If not then third-party controllers could just offer a firmware update to spoof the vendorID and productID.

Also one of the beauty of the Unix philosophy.

I’d rather have a bundle of small, specialized utilities, each with a specific scope that I can then combine into a workflow than a one-size fits all software.

Software like ffmpeg, curl, awk, etc can accomplish so much when combined together.

Would be nice if they could be flashed with a different firmware, so that you could convert it to Google Find My network to avoid ewaste.
