Nah, it’s a matter of personnal preferences and use case.

I love CLI mainly because it allows me to sceipt suff, but lots of people don’t mind actually seeing what they are doing and clicking on stuff to achieve it.

It’s a good news there are piracy tools with a CLI, makes it more accessible to more people - and we should rejoice about it.

I seem to remember it was not a ionization issue but something with local temperatures increases around the ear when you were using it without an earset.

I’ve installed and used it, and still do.

My internet connection is not that reliable, and when I download big files that are not torrents (say >1000 MB) and the download is interrupted because of internet disconnect, Firefox often has trouble getting back to it while FDM doesn’t.

FDM also lets me set download speed limits, which means I can still browse the internet while downloading.

It’s not my main tool for downloading stuff, but it has its uses.

I might be wrong, but for me OP is not trying to actually run email, rather have a staging ground that pulls all emails from their accounts on actual providers, apply some treatment to said emails and pull them from client-side apps on their devices.

Same here. I’m happy to pay for the games I enjoy playing as long as I effectively can own a copy. So i either buy them on GOG.com (or publisher website for some indie stuff) or find other ways to acquire them, because f**k vendor lock-in (looking at you Steam).

Idea 1: installing and older version (below 6.x) and upgrading it to current version ?

The official documentation page about registration states:

When deploying a self managed Rocket.chat >=6.x workspace you are automatically required to register your workspace upon completing the Setup Wizard

According to the same page, for versions below 6.x you have to manually register your instance.

Idea 2: I noticed a few references to air-gapped installations, and I guess they can’t be connected to anything from Rocket.chat HQ. Could Iistalling your server as air-gapped and completing a bogus registration work ?

Hope any of this helps. I’m quire surprised (and not in a good way) to see this mandatory requirement from Rocket.chat. Even if kt means functionality loss (access to their push notif framework for example) you should be able to decline it.

  • Jerboa for lemmy
  • plethora of calendars, todo apps, calculators, keyboards…
  • some games

And then of course all you power-ish user stuff (alternate launchers, clients for self-hosted clouds and stuff, terminal emulators…)

These people live in a harsh dictatorship with nopress freedom. In such a state, they don’t have a say in what happens in many areas of their lives, let alone in the course of a war.

I don’t know if the ukrainian drones are targetting civilians, but if they are nothing makes it ok. We (the Allies) buried civilians under shells in Dresde during WWII and it has always disgusted me. These tactics might be efficient to bring morale down but they should imo never be used.

If Ukrainians generals want payback for what they have been going through in this fucking unjust, brutal and unjustified war, these drones might be better used targeting the rich mansions of Putin’s entourage.
