possiblylinux127,

I love that all of my data is “open source” due to all of the security breaches

possiblylinux127,

Oh no…

possiblylinux127,

Or we could just toughen up a bit. You need to be willing to take life head on. Don’t go cowarding away from your problems.

(Just to be clear do go get help if you are facing serious metal health issues. I’ve lost people to suicide)

possiblylinux127,

I think it would be really fun if someone made a VR game that actively generates the world via AI. It would take a huge amount of hardware but it would be cool.

possiblylinux127,

This is why we don’t have such devices

possiblylinux127,

It doesn’t run anything from google. I run lineage os.

You could make the point that the service companies know where you ate all the time but that doesn’t have anything to do with audio that I know of.

possiblylinux127,

Honestly if you are thinking about your phone listening to you then you probably should look into running something other than stock. (You are not most people)

possiblylinux127,

It depends. What I would do if you are interested is buy a cheap damaged phone that is still usable and then flash it with Lineage. From there you can break things without causing issues on your main device.

possiblylinux127,

It does not. It is fairly close to AOSP with a few improvements to the stock system.

possiblylinux127,

Both are display servers which is software that allows programs to write to the screen. X is older and was created back in 1984 at MIT and Wayland is a much newer protocol that is designed to work better on newer (post 90’s) hardware.

The biggest difference is that Wayland basicly allows your desktop direct access to the screen and X has a server that runs and allows your desktop to connect to it. X was originally designed to run remotely as back in the day there was one big commuter that many people connected to.

If this is all very confusing you probably should just stick to your distros defaults. Most of the time you don’t need to care.

possiblylinux127,

That’s a good way to put it, thank you

possiblylinux127,

In the US it would be passed at 1:00am and no one would notice for 10 years

possiblylinux127,

I just want to create posts that people like. Treat others are you want to be treated.

Full PGP support in Skiff (skiff.com)

We’ve heard our users loud and clear - interoperable end to end encryption (E2EE) across email providers is critical for privacy and security online. We have taken this feedback to heart. We are proud to announce support for PGP encryption inside Skiff mail starting today for all users across all tiers, including Free.

possiblylinux127, (edited )

That’s really good. I wish PGP rotated keys but that’s a discussion for anouther day

possiblylinux127,

I just live when people ask me directions to a place we are right next to. It literally has a massive sign.

Tourists are really funny sometimes. I don’t mind helping others out but it would be nice if they would actually look around and read the signs.

possiblylinux127,

I’m confused. Why are you a cat

possiblylinux127,

If we weren’t working what would we be doing

possiblylinux127,

Booorrrrriiinnngg

possiblylinux127,

I’m personally like spending my time starting bar fights. I’m not sure if that’s allowed. (I don’t actually)

possiblylinux127,

As someone who self hosts and manages a bunch of company websites, I can relate

This is almost always caused by a either a bad reverse proxy config or the service behind the reverse proxy being down.

possiblylinux127,

Reverse proxies be like that.

possiblylinux127,

KeepassXC is pretty user friendly. I can walk anyone through using it.

possiblylinux127,

Virtual Machines?

possiblylinux127,

At the same time

possiblylinux127,

I have a machine with 1gb of ram. I can browse the web and everything

possiblylinux127,

I want these.

I’m sure the bidding for one of these starts at more than my net worth

possiblylinux127,

Honestly just use Fedora or Linux mint. Nobara has a very small community so if you run into issues we may not be able to help you.

possiblylinux127,

That’s why I need privacy in today’s age

possiblylinux127,

For scholarships

possiblylinux127,

Well no, its for scholarships in the US

possiblylinux127,

Or because its better. Just a thought

possiblylinux127,

I’m not saying that college shouldn’t be accessible to the masses. It is and there are scholarships, state funding and loads to support it. What I’m saying is that we should spend tons of tax dollars on college. The government already spends enough we don’t need to blow away more money by paying this exorbitant prices.

Also the cost of tuition varies widely by where you are going.

possiblylinux127,

This made me laugh more than it should

possiblylinux127,

Honestly it doesn’t matter these days

possiblylinux127,

Self hosted Nextcloud and jellyfin

possiblylinux127,

Session doesn’t store logs on a central server. They are encrypted and stored on lokinet.

Anyway other options are: Jami, Signal or Molly and maybe matrix. Keep in mind Briar will drain battery a bit and doesn’t receive notifications offline unless you setup a dedicated device

possiblylinux127,

Session does not have centralized servers in Canada. There are issues with session but centralized servers aren’t one of them.

possiblylinux127,

Don’t lose sleep over privacy. Just set goals and try to meet them.
