darganon,

You know nobody gets out alive, right?

darganon,

Had to buy toilet paper. That shit magically appeared when I was a kid.

darganon,

It’s funny, but she’s right, it’s not about the nail. Never was.

darganon,

Yeah, I have a pixel 8 pro, pixel watch 2, pixel buds pro, nest doorbell, 7 Google Home/Nest Hubs, YouTube Premium subscriber for however long YouTube Red has been around and use Google for most online services, and still think they have the best search, and I use Bard.

That being said, their search experience has been worse lately because of SEO, and I am slightly worried about the outsized control they have over the Internet, but better them than Microsoft (duckduckgo/bing) or Apple (literally nothing I care about, except Mythic Quest). They could always do more, and they should be held to a high standard. And fox their fucking messaging, they really, really shat the bed there.

darganon,

OWL dying is a shame, I was excited for it, and right when they were about to do the games in the proper cities COVID stopped that, then whoever was asleep at the wheel let the GOATS meta run an entire season when it should have been stopped by a rule change after one match, destroying any desire to watch further.

darganon,

Super pumped about this, can’t wait to get this semester over with so my group can finish BG3 and get into this. We played the first one a ton, and adding a fourth will be nice!

darganon,

Use what you prefer, except brave, they can go fuck themselves.

Firefox works great for me, but I have OP hardware.

darganon,

I have the pixel 8 pro case from Google, it’s nice. Just makes it grippy.

darganon,

Sweet, no more cross necklaces!

darganon,

Mine is a docker container on a Linux server in the hall closet.

darganon,

The wikipedia article on that piece of land is crazy. Religious zealots have been fighting over it since basically recorded history started.

darganon,

Pre-ordered a Pixel 8 Pro with the watch. I’ve had this OnePlus 7 Pro since it launched and I want the new features and a really fucking good camera. I’d also like to get away from OnePlus’ bullshit, but all in all it’s been a fantastic phone. Still very fast.

darganon,

You can’t turn off their multi-press screenshot thing, and they install their apps and un-disable them, trying to figure out which messages or contacts app is the right one is annoying.

Don’t get me wrong, the phone is still impressively fast, but some of the newer tech, specifically camera, 5g, wireless charging, and the call screening style stuff is what I’m after.

darganon,

Their built in apps, the red cable stuff, the multi-press screenshot gesture that I can’t disable.

The phone is still crazy fast for it’s age, but I wanted a no-compromise camera, and 5g, wireless charging, the call screening stuff.

Basically it’s just time for an upgrade.

darganon,

That seems like an extremely strong statement from the Navy, or maybe it’s normal. Either way yikes.

darganon,

Trident, the green or blue ones.

Shit lasts forever.

darganon,

…yeah I tried the watermelon and it wasn’t as good.

darganon,

We always called the “fuck” area the tunnel of love.

How Frasier Is So Rich As A Radio Therapist Finally Explained By Original Show Writer (screenrant.com)

Frasier’s wealth in the Frasier series is finally explained by writer and executive producer Joe Keenan. Kelsey Grammer is reprising his most iconic role in the upcoming Frasier reboot on Paramount+, which will mark the character’s fourth act. The new adventure will see him back in Boston — the same city where he was...

darganon,

The episode with his school reunion where they think he’s homeless is hilarious.

darganon,

I have iron rangers that took about two weeks to break in, and now they’re like an extension of me. So comfortable. But the break in period was…trying.

darganon,

I am looking forward to replacing my OnePlus 7 Pro with a pixel 8 pro. Glad to see it didn’t get more expensive than the 7.

darganon,

Camera, wireless charging, 5g, get rid on OnePlus’ UI, the call screening/transcribing stuff, and probably more that I’m forgetting.

The OnePlus is still fast, but I’m tired of it.

darganon,

At least not without pictures of the dog.

darganon,

Where did they last see it? Did they check behind the couch?

About electric vehicle. If you add the maintenance cost for battery, how does it fair compare to gasoline vehicle? On cost we have to pay.

I heard someone said that, at the end EV will cost you almost the same as gasoline vehicle, if you have to change the expensive battery every so often. Can someone please give me more info on this? Thank you so much.

darganon,

My state hits you with a tax you can pay per mile or once a year with registration, and was fairly expensive, so not really true here.

darganon,

As someone who bought a Tesla because my GTI’s engine died at 95k miles, I’ll take my chances with the electricity

darganon,

Debutant balls are outdated, elitist, and sexist. You said so yourself in your review of Boyz n the Hood.

The Critic was hilarious.

darganon,

Bereal is great, you get a notification and take a picture, front and rear camera, that’s all you get for the day, then you can see what your friends are up to.

By far my favorite social media.

darganon,

Volleyball is an incredible sport, and needs to be more popular in the US than it currently is. Nebraska is doing their part, it seems.

darganon,

The pricing wasn’t bad for what you got, not a bad option if you couldn’t buy the device outright.

darganon,

I had >5000 hours in WoW by 2007, haven’t checked since.

darganon,

I have been using Windows 11 pro since it came out and it’s fine. I’m not sure why windows is obsessed with trying to replace their older, functional menus with the new style settings apps (which usually just lead back to the old style ones) but I never get reinstalled bloat, ads, or anything remotely like people are complaining about.

For reference I do powershell for a living and use ArchLinux at work, and have windows 11 and arch machines at home, but use windows the most at home.

darganon,

I like xml, but it isn’t the easiest to read.

I hate yaml with a burning passion. At least with JSON you can compress it all down.

darganon,

Thanks for the tip!

darganon,

I mainly work with windows, and powershell works great with xml.

darganon,

I’d like that, and if people don’t they can just block it, right?

darganon,

Ghost Ship. The rest of the movie is horrible but the first scene is inspired.

darganon,

You gotta be doing some insaaaaane shit to get hit with that type of case in the US post-Reagan administration.

Yeah, they bundled a web browser with their operating system! Insaaaaaane!

darganon,

We used to zip tie people’s chairs to the ceiling if they went on vacation.

That or a little tape over the mouse laser.

darganon,

Handing Michael Johnson the declaration of independence like a relay baton is pure comedy gold.

darganon,

They have fleet fueling stations where we’re at. Car dealerships use them as well as cops and anyone else that needs it.

darganon,

The one that drives me up the wall is asking for a tip for handing me something. If I got any less service it would be a police matter.

darganon,

She needs to maintain control of her dog. This isn’t a you problem, and you’ve already talked to her, so the next step would be to call animal control and let them know the situation.

A much funnier method would be to just pick up your GSD when the Yorkie is out.

darganon,

As a counterpoint I’ve had pihole running in various configurations for 7 or 8 years and the only problem I’ve had was a log file got too big or something. Works great.
