It’s fine, start page still has control over their search engine, system 1 just takes some profit. The privacy policy is also distinctly different to the ad tech company
I’m planning to get a Pixel 8 this month after using only iPhones since my first iPhone in ~2010. I used to be a big Apple fan, so I have a good understanding of iOS, good iOS apps, etc, from years of Apple blogs, podcasts, etc. I have nowhere near the same level of understanding of Android. For instance, I was just watching a...
I think with enough configuration you can get call screen to work. For google photos you can install gcam and google photos and deny network access to both
GrapheneOS is such a staple for me now. Been waiting for it to be released for the Pixel 8 since I got the phone at launch… it doesn’t have the annoying search bar or the unmovable widget telling you the weather… Regardless of the security and privacy it offers… And its just pretty.
Graphene passes one of googles 2 safety net checks, most apps will work, but some require google to have explicitly verified the users os, which grapheneos does not pass
if you look at the julian calendar what will you see? months. I don’t think you know enough about the julian calendar to say that we should switch to it
I’ve no problem with using LibreOffice for most of my document needs, but i haven’t found a good substitute for microsoft’s OneNote yet. I mainly use it to plan my RPG games and it helps a lot. What alternatives are there for organizing notes on linux, with similar features to those that OneNote provides?
Linux libre distros deserve as little recognition as possible. They prevent critical CPU security updates and fixes (I.E igpu leak) and suppress warnings that you are running outdated microcode, leaving you potentially vulnerable to exploits such as meltdown
For the 8 it should have a strap on the back like the 4a 5g’s case, don’t care about it for 8 pro I’m fine with say, white lines on the case if it’s magsafe, but no extravagant patterns
Like the title states looking for E2EE apps (Android and iOS) without going into much details or needs to be robust enough and easy to use for anyone and stable for operations that are susceptible to constant electronic warfare. I did some research and thought about replacing Signal with Molly and wondering if it will still work...
For context: I have an AMD GPU, so drivers will not be a problem. I’ll prefer whichever one has more up-to-date and frequently updated packages. Wayland is a must.
So you think Debian is the only new user friendly distro in existence? Because literally anything else has more up-to-date packages than debian, and a lot are better for new users
they lied Quallcomm will discountinue support for the socs used five years before fairphone says updates will finish they also use public keys for verified boot, meaning that verified boot basically does nothing control+f and search for fairphone in this page for more info: (www.privacyguides.org/en/os/android-overview/)
