As the title said, I’m looking for good videos to learn astronomy, cosmology and astrophysics (really, anything related to space is fine, such as rocket science).
What always irked me about that show was that the actual science, like how things were found out and how certain we are in that assessment, is totally glossed over. It sounds more like two potheads philosophising on their couch. It might be entertaining, but you may run away with a severe lack of understanding.
Forgot to mention Arvin Ash. Sometimes a little bit too clickbaity but overall pretty good. And he will correct himself if he got something wrong which is always a plus.
Especially the early QM videos by Sabine Hossenfelder are great. Lately she’s just researching popular science news which may or may not be correct. But I like that she is at least stating her bias when she has one.
I did manage to get ALVR working. Can’t tell you what’s all needed. But sometimes you just have to find the right version. And SteamVR needs access to some devices. it should ask for root permissions on first run.
Other things to play around with are the video codecs. Or using the flatpak version or a normal system install of Steam.
I don’t have my PC at the moment, so I couldn’t give you specifics. But it definitely worked with my Quest 1.

Saw a documentary about Vienna the other day. They have state sponsored housing that is cheap or free and nice to look at and situated together in rich neighbourhoods to work against segregation.

Still on Baldur’s Gate 3. Just started my fifth or so character. An Abserd (someone multiclassing into every class) character who fools around in Honour Mode. Works surprisingly well so far and I still manage to find stuff I have never seen before.

I have had a tendency since my earliest days on social media where I will get halfway or more through a response, and end up just cancelling it. Sometimes I feel like I’m just being to over the top with snark or otherwise don’t want to be that kind of person, but a lot of the time I’ll decide I just really don’t care...

I think I cancel my posts about 1 to 5 percent of the time. Usually when it gets longer and I notice that my brain is too stupid to continue. Sometimes also when I catch myself being a little bit too sarcastic.
There have even been times when Fortnite’s anti cheat was broken so that you could actually play the game perfectly fine on Linux.
I also once managed to get long enough into a game to be yelled at because the mic is open by default (which happened to be my laptop mic). Then I got kicked by anti cheat.

I’m dreaming of a VR game with a disabled wizard who is confined to a chair and uses telekinesis or teleportation to move around. That would give the game a lore reason for VR locomotion.
