You’re right, nobody defined the base of the numbers either. Come to think of it, what makes you think that those are numbers at all? That’s nothing but a random arrangement of pixels. I mean, who am I to tell you how to interpret the photons reaching your retina? You’re nothing but excitations in the electric fields in my neurons, anyways.
After having had a Nokia N900 they are a big disappointment. Especially from a performance standpoint. I have no idea why that is. Especially if I compare them to something like an old Raspberry Pi which can still give you a good desktop experience.

Also, ich habe schon in der Küche, auf dem Sofa, im Bett und auf der Terrasse gearbeitet. Und ich hätte auch auf dem Spielplatz oder am Deich arbeiten können.
Ja, ein dedizierter Schreibtisch ist nett. Aber ich finde mit einem Laptop ist man so flexibel, dass man nicht unbedingt einen extra Arbeitsplatz braucht.
Außer man ist auf Berge von Papier angewiesen. Aber die muss man ja dann auch irgendwo lagern, was in so einem Mietbüro sicher auch nicht immer geht.

Dank Long Covid arbeite ich zwar nicht mehr. Aber die komplette Heimarbeit ist ein Luxus den ich nicht mehr missen möchte, sollte ich wieder genesen. Die Flexibilität und Zeit- und Geld-Erparnis sind einfach unschlagbar.
Und darüber hinaus hatte sich die Kommunikation mit anderen Abteilungen sogar verbessert. Die hatten endlich gelernt Teams zu verwenden und da war dann eine kurze Rückfrage nur noch einen Knopfdruck weg.
Vor Corona hatte unser Team ein Büro das ziemlich abseits lag. Da hatte sich kaum jemand hin verirrt, was eine relativ große Hürde für persönliche Gespräche war. Nach Corona haben selbst die technikfeindlichsten Kollegen einfach spontan eine Videokonferenz mit allen Beteiligten gestartet und so konnten wir fix alle Probleme lösen.

They’re well worth the money. I got one because I couldn’t fix my Nokia’s USB because the glued-on screen had a small crack. A new screen cost about as much as the whole phone.
Not only is my Fairphone 3 much easier to repair, it seems to be much more durable as well. Been dropping it all the time and there isn’t a single scratch on the screen. I attribute it to the back that pops off when I drop it, absorbing most of the energy.
Curious as to how many others do this, or if I am just crazy. Anyone else buy physical copies of games and movies and play/watch a pirated version to keep the original product sealed? Do you have a different method or do something similar?
When I tried Gnome on my Pinephone a few years ago I was actually surprised at how good it was. Made me really sad that they hadn’t put the resources used to develop Phosh into polishing Gnome. Maybe it’s even better now.
Or you could see if you could just configure KDE to your liking.
