chloyster,

This is a pretty wild claim. Care to elaborate what you mean?

chloyster,

My thoughts on the topic of this thread aside, you claim we have built a reputation for this. I would ask that you provide other examples of this. I have been fairly active on beehaw for quite a few months now and have not seen this behavior. You may say I am biased as I am a mod on the platform, but I do truly think beehaw does its best to uphold its ethos. And what you claim the “point of beehaw” is, is directly antithetical to our ethos.

Players who don't like survival games as a genre: Which survival games are your personal exceptions, which ones have you enjoyed nonetheless and why?

Personally, I really don’t like most of these games due to the tedium and frustration that comes with hunger/thirst mechanics. Most of the exceptions that I do actually like either make up for it through something else that elevates the experience enough - or they either don’t have these mechanics or allow for players to...

chloyster,

I thought the forest was quite fun. Idk what it was about it. I want to try sons of the forest. Haven’t loved the others I tried though

chloyster,

Well yeah but the esa was still trying to keep it running. This is the final announcement that they aren’t even trying anymore. It’s done done this time

chloyster,

I mean tbh at the height of the show the press conferences were awesome. The shows didn’t have ads (unless you count the games themselves being ads which like, fair I guess). Idk I loved tuning into the shows and seeing announcement after announcement. Sonys 2016 show was a particular highlight. Having a live orchestra to do all the music even during the trailers was a really cool performance imo. It was more than just trailers

chloyster,

I’ve gone through this song and dance before with my old games and the most success I’ve had is with wine on Linux. It’s not foolproof unfortunately, and takes a bit of tinkering. It likely won’t work for every game either. You’ll probably want to find tutorials for each specific game you’re trying to run. Another option I’ve had some success with is running a windows xp VM. But again this isn’t foolproof and requires some technical literacy

chloyster,

Hope the vc money doesn’t lead this project astray but since w4 and Godot are technically different things, hopefully even if it does become annoying Godot can live on unaffected

chloyster,

Definitely excited for pony Island 2! Inscryption is one of my faves of the last few years

chloyster,

No silk song news 😭😭😭

Overall good show though. Sooooo excited for world of goo 2. New kojima game I’m hyped for as well.

My personal goty was re4 remake so kinda sad but I’m not surprised. This year was too stacked

chloyster,

Yeah. Basically the people who pick the nominees vote, and the public is also allowed to vote and their results count as 1 vote. Its mainly game news outlets that do the nominees and voting

chloyster,

Well typically the outlet convenes with a bunch of people who have played a wide variety of games, so I feel they have a pretty good pool of minds to pull from.

Also I don’t think it’s a bad system compared to having it be all user voted. Golden joysticks already exist for 100% public vote, and that can be easily influenced by bots and the like. Also half of the games nominated for game of the year this year were open world games that were not short. I mean I don’t think many expected in January a crpg would win in a year a Zelda game came out ¯_(ツ)_/¯

chloyster,

Voxelgram is a 3d picross clone. It has random puzzles it can craft for you. It’s also available on android

Steam Deck Owners: What’s been your favorite game that you first discovered on Steam Deck and now you can’t seem to put down?

Looking for those games that you may have heard about but never tried until you got a Deck. Or old games on systems you never had that you’re trying for the first time. Or new AAA games that just released in the last year or two that you picked up for the first time specifically to play on Steam Deck and have kept you glued to...

chloyster,

Well I didn’t first discover it on deck but I play a ton of Spelunky 2 on deck. Every time I boot it up intending to play something else, I see it there and go, “ooook just a couple rounds”

chloyster,

This happened to me but the non perma death modes have helped haha. I want to get more into it

chloyster,

I also love peglin! The first few crucible levels are really fun and I enjoyed going through them. Omg though once you get to the last few it becomes a total slog. I still was able to get through all 15 on 1 character but I have no interest in trying to go that far on the others
