at the rate my $50 flippers fall apart, i need a new one every couple years or sooner. but i'm certainly not keeping up with anyone wrt my phone... as it's just a phone, not a pocket pc.
I use Firefox and uBlock Origin. Not sure what kind of experience anyone else is having with YouTube, but recently my home page has been empty because I “don’t have watch history turned on”. Okay, fine. I won’t be able to browse suggested videos, and I’ll spend less time on their platform....
Today is the first day of our holidays. Tomorrow we pack to go to Germany. We’re trying to get the baby to sleep since 8pm, now it’s 11pm and it looks like he will fall asleep soon....
how are you traveling? snakes on a plane; airplane!; speed; planes, trains and automobiles; air force one; pelham 123..., all good 'pre-trip' movies, and each worthy of a re-watch.
given a choice, i usually go with larger pizzas for crispy thin crust (also cut those in squares); and smaller ones for 'deep dish' or pan, where there isn't really an outside 'crust'.
Basically as the title says. A local gas station chain has released a new app. They give you a one time $10 off your purchase of any purchase over $10 promo coupon....
These TVs can capture and identify 7,200 images per hour, or approximately two every second. The data is then used for content recommendations and ad targeting, which is a huge business; advertisers spent an estimated $18.6 billion on smart TV ads in 2022, according to market research firm eMarketer.
i don't play 'new' games, i don't have the hardware for them. most my gear is older salvaged stuff that didn't cost me anything to get. between constant rent increases and the cost of groceries these days, i simply can't afford to upgrade unless i get lucky and salvage something useful.
sourcing an older computer that can run xp isn't terribly difficult, or expensive. don't need internets for them, don't need massive video card, or a big high-res monitor. in the end, finding one, and a little space to set it up, is a lot easier and with far fewer headaches than getting many of the old games to run on 'modern' windows or linux.
i have systems from an old celeron 300a to dual core am2 to play the really old games on.. even have crt and white kb/mouse for the full 'experience'.
same here. almost always something 'on' just for 'noise'. actual 'watching' isn't all that much, an episode or two, or a movie, is usually about all. nothing off local stations, either. no more cable anymore, and can't get reception via antenna. what 'live tv' we do have on comes from a 'free' streamer like pluto.
of course it is... 'instant ink' subscription requires you consent to automatic firmware updates. the very first of which will block 'non genuine hp' ink cartridges (even more than the factory-loaded firmware does) forever.
so they either get the high-margin recurring subscription revenue or they get the high-margin oem ink sales revenue every time a tiny oem cartridge empties or clogs-up to the point of not working.
'instant ink' is only potentially of any value for some users who have a very consistent printer output from month-to-month, every month, that happens to match-up well with their subscription levels, and that output contains a lot of ink coverage like figures, graphics, and pictures.
if you want to print pictures, an online service or retail store with a printing kiosk is usually the more economical choice--so long as you don't mind a third-party 'seeing' them.
since STIR/SHAKEN protocols started to roll-out, the number of 'spoofed' calls coming in here have fallen-off considerably. down to only one, maybe, a week on a cellular line; and one every day or two on the office pots. nearly all bogus calls coming into a cell phone are marked by verizon as 'potential spam' alongside the reported cid number--some of which don't even ring through at all.
if you get more than that on your phone, you need to get on your provider's case about their STIR/SHAKEN implementation, or lack thereof.

i pay about double that for less than half the speed here in the midwestern u.s., and it goes out for 20 minutes to an hour, or longer, at least twice a week.
you've 'spent' as much on books in five months as i have in, like, twenty years. but i don't always actually check books out. i often just go there (it's only a block away), grab a book, find a sofa to sit on, and read it.. cover-to-cover, then put it back where i found it.
one solution would be longer school years (doesn't have to be a 'year-round' calendar) with maybe an hour or hour-and-a-half less class time per day. but that costs more in terms of food service, transportation, building upkeep, and so forth; plus extra child care burden on parents when most families don't have a 'stay at home' parent these days.

my rent went from just under 30% of my gross, to two-thirds of it--and that's with a modest raise mixed in there. it was stable for twenty years (3 building owners during that time) before this new landlord. utility bill is about the same--with reduced consumption on my part helping that, but i can't really go 'down' any more. cable (internet) is up. phone is up. groceries are at least double--and for less of it, as i hit the food pantry more frequently. it cost more than double for each trip to the laundry. the once or twice (at most) a week i get a little fast food or kwik trip is about the same--but that's only because i just get less (i stick to my modest budget for that regardless of how much it buys).
my landlord's labor? hasn't done shit in three years except slap on some paneling, lay down cheap carpet, and triple the rent on a couple 'newly remodeled' units. property taxes are down due to lower valuation on the property. utility bills (common areas, which are unheated) are stable, probably lower because of a perpetual vacancy and a couple tenants now being part-timers (less hot water use, lower gas bill for the building's hot water heater).
