As the title said, I’m looking for good videos to learn astronomy, cosmology and astrophysics (really, anything related to space is fine, such as rocket science).
Just curious what are the top 3 podcasts you listened to this year on whatever platform. Antennapod released a feature that summarized your year and well the amount of hours kinda surprised me in a good way, haha....
This is a podcast about hackers, breaches, shadow government activity, hacktivism, cybercrime, and all the things that dwell on the hidden parts of the network.
Darknet Diaries is an investigative podcast created by Jack Rhysider (/riːˈsaɪdər/), chronicling true stories about crackers, malware, botnets, cryptography, cryptocurrency, cybercrime, and Internet privacy, all subjects falling under the umbrella of “tales from the dark side of the Internet”.
I’m a woman & work in a mostly male professional setting. When I meet new co-workers or travel for work to attend meetings with another group of majority men, we always shake hands.
As someone whose 2nd language is French, thank you for your tolerance! I am much more rusty now since my grandparents have passed and my parents & other family members no longer speak it, but I do want to get back into learning it better again.
Why decide already to eat them? Grill them, sure, if they’re a threat, but what if they’re poisonous or just smell/taste like vomit after a night of slamming beers?
I’m a heavy emoji user, texting is such a poor medium for communication, many times people get the wrong message, but with an emoji you’ll get an idea of the face I’m making, so less chance of misunderstanding...
I don’t like them because they can often be hard to see. There are so many of them now, and navigating them (for me) isn’t always easy.
I like the simple text based approach. Emojis invade every other aspect of online communication; it’s nice to have a place where I don’t feel pressured to insert them, especially for someone whose eyesight isn’t the best.
That’s just my rationale, but I can’t speak for everyone.
BlueSky has weird cliques. It’s hard to find people who maybe left Twitter and just want to keep posting their typical stuff. It’s a lot of inside jokes that I don’t get so I haven’t really stayed active.
Try Refold. You don’t have to do the paid courses, just join their Discord and look for their recommended lists of things there and on the website to read/shows to easily watch on different streaming services for French. They have different “stages” to go through, and you can pay for coaching, but a good chunk can also be done on your own for free.
Something I’ve always noticed and am going through now. Sometimes I’ll drink too much the night before and be concerned about a hangover the next morning. Morning comes, and almost always my first thought is “gee I feel like shit but actually this is way less bad then I was expecting” this misplaced optimism gets washed...
Once the source of the hangover headache was located, the researchers then set about figuring out how to get rid of the pesky things, using known headache blockers. Turns out the combination of caffeine and over-the-counter inflammatory drugs (i.e., NSAIDs – things like aspirin and ibuprofen) were best at blocking the head-pounding effects of the acetate.
Although as with everything, timing is crucial.
“If you drink a small amount of alcohol, three or four hours later, drink some coffee,” he says. “Or take caffeine in some form, like an Excedrin that has caffeine in it. If you take the caffeine at the same time as you drink, it will be gone when the acetate levels are high.

I would like to start using RSS feeds but every client I’ve searched up has a subscription method of payment. Are there any RSS clients that don’t do this?
That’s what I use, too. I am having a hard time finding good US/world news feeds though, the basics like NBC, CBS, etc. I’ve found some newspapers like WaPo, AP, NYT, etc, but some of the others like seriously haven’t updated their RSS pages since 2013 and they don’t really work anymore.

Thanks! Sorry, I’m just getting back into this after awhile of not doing it. I’ve done some reading up on this part of it already, but I hadn’t got there yet. :)
Are you not familiar with NASA TV? It’s pretty interesting at times with science updates on their exploration programs like the Mars rovers and JWST. They also broadcast EVA’s and have interviews with people working in Mission Control and elsewhere. I like it a lot.
Good question. I think as long as you can already access the NASA app, NASA TV (it’s on YouTube, too), and NASA’s websites, then this should be no different. IIRC one press release said they wanted to share their content “with the world”, so it sounds like that’s a yes, but again I’m not 100% sure. Hopefully we find out in a few days :)
If this is something that you consider to be a big of enough issue, look into the Forest app. It’s the only thing that works for me and my ADHD.
It’s an app that plants a digital tree. And if you use your phone during that time, the tree will die. And for each amount of time that you concentrate, you get a certain amount of coins that allow you to purchase more species of trees, so your forest becomes more “decorative” over time. Some of the trees aren’t real, so it makes it fun to see the designs they come up with. And there are seasonal ones to make it fun.
The motivation to care is because after you plant a certain amount of digital trees, an environmental group will plant a tree for you in real life. This has been surprisingly effective for me when needing to focus on a task at work for extended periods of time.

IIRC Pidgin integrates all of the ones you mentioned along with XMPP services. I only know about it because they used to offer it where I worked and couldn’t use the others, but admittedly I cannot speak about its privacy features or lack thereof.
Edit: don’t listen to me, I don’t see a mobile version like OP wanted.
Ah yeah, I don’t see that happening either because there is somewhat of a learning curve for folks who have never done that kind of thing before, and it’s unlikely grandma would be ready to make the swap.
In May, Republicans in the state legislature introduced a bill that threatened to make it much harder to pass a constitutional amendment by requiring more than 60% of the vote to pass an initiative, rather than a simple majority – an effort explicitly designed to undercut the abortion referendum.
LaRose, who is also running for a US Senate seat and is looking to endear himself with conservative voters, was a prominent supporter of that failed campaign.
“This is 100% about keeping a radical pro-abortion amendment out of our constitution,” LaRose said in June. “The left wants to jam it in there this coming November.”
In a special election on 8 August, Ohio voters rejected the proposal by 57% to 43%, a lopsided result in the Republican-leaning state.
No way a Republican is projecting. NO way. None. /s

We get Max free through our cell phone plan; I don’t think the merger changed that (we still get it for free), but I’m honestly not sure how this will affect it, if at all. If it ever stops being free, there will be a few shows I’ll miss having instant access to, but nothing that cleaning the sails for a voyage on the high seas can’t fix.
