I’ve been recently been thinking about Arkane Studio’s Prey which is a immersive sim, with a pretty good rogue like dlc, that probably has one of the strongest hooks of any game I’ve played. If you liked Halflife, System Shock, or Deus Ex it’s definitely worth a play....
Eternal Darkness is one of my favourite GameCube games. I feel like it might be long enough ago that they could do a remake with modern sanity effects.
And Halo Reach is my favourite Halo game, loved it.
Definitely didn’t get the appreciation it deserved on launch. I seem to remember it was launched right after that year’s Battlefield and right before that year’s CoD. Terrible decision. It definitely stood the test of time though and is very highly regarded now.
This relates to the BBC article [www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-66596790] which states “the UK should pay $24tn (£18.8tn) for its slavery involvement in 14 countries”....
I’m confused. Why would this be the thing that stops you playing games by these companies? Especially considering Activision Blizzard might stop being so shitty when the people at the top leave after the acquisition. I’m not saying you shouldn’t avoid games based on ethics, I just think this deal is a weird one to be the deal-breaker for you.
I was playing Hollow Knight on Gamepass streaming the other day. It’s a game that would be just awful to play with any real latency, and it was absolutely fine. There was no perceivable latency.
Fair enough. I do agree with you on the indie front. Hades and Hollow Knight are two of my favourite games of all time. Remnant 2 has knocked it out of the park. And there are so many interesting smaller games coming from indie studios these days.
It’s my goddamn motherfucking mobile data and MY PHONE. I should be able to use it however I want. Hollow Knight is an incredibly competent game on pretty much all fronts. In my opinion, Hollow Knight is a masterpiece and we will discuss all the things that make it so great in detail in this Hollow Knight retrospective. However - the one thing that I find most fascinating about Hollow Knight is an aspect of the game that is...
Going to have to watch some of this. I played this to death on the Switch, never quite completed it. Despite not finishing it this is definitely one of my favourite games of all time.
I use it. I prefer the experience to Windows and I don’t have the time to properly learn Linux. I know that’s lazy and I know I am sacrificing a certain degree of privacy by being lazy, but I already use a Pixel phone so I don’t think I’ve giving away anything new. One day I will probably sit down and set up Linux on my Chromebook and have more of a tinker, I’ve done it before and I’m relatively tech savvy.

Indeed. They even refunded my Ubisoft+ sub costs which surprised the hell out of me. I got two controllers free from various deals as well, they are decent Bluetooth controllers now. I think I paid for a handful of months of pro that I didn’t get back, but everything else was refunded.
Plenty of people forget that Nintendo needs to hit a price point on this device. So there are some things we might not think are ideal but need to be the way they are to make financial sense. Things like storage size, screen tech, are two of the areas where a compromise might have been needed. Also let’s not pretend that there aren’t good LCD screens that could be used, OLED isn’t the be all and end all.
Although this is frustrating for XSX owners like myself, it is absolutely the right thing to do. I’ve played a little bit of early access on Stadia and I hope all the PC and PS5 players are having a blast.
I am not a regular gamer, but once or twice in the week I am indulging in some after work gaming. Mostly I enjoy games that are either story rich to put different thoughts in my mind or games with a simple, but enjoyable gameplay (not too much micromanagement)....
For me it needs to be something that my two daughters can watch me play. If I want something quick I’ll normally go for some Fortnite. I’m trying to decide if Remnant 2 is alright my kids to watch me play, if I decide it is that’ll be my other one.
They (6 and 8) watched me play about half an hour of Remnant 2 the other day and they said it wasn’t scary. My first area is the creepy Victorian city as well.

It’s my second read through so I know how good it is 😁 I did find that I’d forgotten a lot of interesting stuff in the first two books though. Can’t wait to see what treasures I’d forgotten in this one.
I picked this up a couple of days ago. I haven’t played the first game and I’m not a massive Dark Souls fan. Despite all that, so far I really really like this game. The gunplay is well done and feels impactful. The world design is interesting and diverse. The mod system seems fun. I’m only 5 hours in but I give it 👍👍

Hades is potentially my favourite game of all time. For me to absolutely nails this style of game by perfectly weaving in a compelling narrative to the rogue mechanic. It’s also gorgeous with the most ridiculously tight gameplay.
Honourable mention to Enter the Gungeon, haven’t seen that mentioned yet. Very fun game.
