So I’ve been wanting to try to move to linux for the past few months but have been waiting to be done school, so I could the MS office suite behind me. I’m mostly writing this to share my experience for people who are considering switching....
eh, sota yes, but past “government” space projects were mostly done by Boeing, Lockheed, Aerojet, etc anyway so the current wave of privatisation is making it mostly better by improving competition.
I have my opinions on blue origin but at least new companies like SpaceX are doing innovative things in contrast to old companies like Boeing that just sit around doing nothing, exploiting cost plus contracting
Dolphin, Konsole, Okular, Skanpage are so nice and I wouldn’t be able to live without them. They feel so polished and solid, and somehow manage to have all the features I want without feeling cluttered
It's an old model (Acer One D257) Processor is Intel Atom. Memory is 1GB DDR3 with 320 GB of HDD. I currently Have MX 21 running on it, but I need to reinstall because I forgot the root password. Since I'm reinstalling the OS, I thought I'd ask here for recommendations for an OS that makes the most of this oldie.
Debian based distros can be very different from each other. Ubuntu, Mint, Pop!, etc are all based off debian. I think what the commenter you’re replying to is saying is to install the stock debian image, because that’s the lightest version of debian.
I need to upgrade my laptop and one of the things I’m looking for is repairability/upgradability. I’ve been told thinkpads are good in this respect, how true is that? In terms of replacing batteries and memory, at least. I’m also looking at the frameworks, but those black friday deals are looking alright at lenovo....
I have a laptop eith sata and a nvme drive. I installed a few operating systems and I decided on Mint for Sata. Installed it copied data from Nvme drive since I was using it as primary. I’m quite interested in putting coreboot onto my laptop, if that’s possible. But first I want to know if it’s reliable as I’ll be using this laptop for school, and if I can even do it in the first place....
I got pics of my foot during surgery and pics of it a week after the operation. I’d love to share it with people and discuss how neat the human body is. I don’t want to subject people to it who aren’t interested in it, though.
Heya folks, some people online told me I was doing partitions wrong, but I’ve been doing it this way for years. Since I’ve been doing it for years, I could be doing it in an outdated way, so I thought I should ask....
those ppl will create noise at whatever cost lmao, I bet they’ll start attaching external speakers at some point to compensate for the lack of engine noise

ehhh debatable, mozilla still gets a lot of funding from google so they’re not as independent as you think. A better world wpuld be one where qtwebkit based browsers, chromium based browsers and firefox based browsers have the same market share.
Unfortunately Apple stole qtwebkit and drove it into the grave so there’s little chance of that actually happening :(
I still hold out hope though, and try to use Falkon whenever possible
