feef,

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_banking

All banks in EU have APIs for this purpose (also see PSD2).

feef,

I was developing these apis for one of the biggest banks in central/eastern Europe.

You’re right that they are not intended for bank to customer access directly. What they allow though is for third parties (other banks, mobile apps, services) to access these apis. It requires a licence though.

Point is that a lot of banks in Europe allow to add other bank‘s accounts to their app. Also aggregator apps exist.

feef,

No.

Actually I was able to change root into the installation now, but when I run grub2-install, I get EFI var errors, I kinda feel like giving up at this point haha.

feef,

Are these cleaning apps still a thing?

feef,

What is its original purpose?

feef,

You only have dinner once a year?

feef,

I had some bumps on my 7 pro already.

feef,

I mean would definitely consider Reddit and lemmy social media.

feef,

Even in iOS 17 the iOS keyboards autocorrect feels like it’s like 10 years behind the Of keyboards like SwiftKey at the time.

feef,

Proper leather boots. I got the red wing irons rangers. Took 3 months of to break them in but it was worth it. Now I have boots that will last me half my life if I take good care of them, plus they fit like a glove!

feef,

This is my opinion as well. While what op describes sounds like he could definitely find a better company with a more supportive atmosphere, it’s just the nature of the job.

In my opinion it’s the best part!

Has Windows startup repair or a troubleshooter ever fixed your issue even once?

Yeah, basically that. I’m back at work in Windows land on a Monday morning, and pondering what sadist at Microsoft included these features. It’s not hyperbole to say that the startup repair, and the troubleshooters in settings, have never fixed an issue I’ve encountered with Windows. Not even once. Is this typical?...

feef,

Troubleshooter was always able to fix my network issues. (Basically just resetting it)

feef,

You get used to it, it has been like this on iOS for quite a while already.

feef,

Yeah this is a limitation that I’d also like they „fix“.

feef,

A reoccurring theme unfortunately.

feef,

I got the pixel because they promised feature drops 🤷‍♂️ that’s what excites me.

feef,

I know, but in the last year with the pixel no features worth mentioning got added, at least that was my experience, used to be more exciting a few years ago. Maybe I was expecting too much.

feef,

The link doesn’t work.

feef,

Already lost all my messages, I found out after setting up my phone that you can only transfer whatsapp messages during the setup process which is retarded. But it’s not too bad, just stupid.

feef,

I had so many issues with the unit that after around 30-40 emails back and forth the support decided to give me a refund. I really tried to help them fix the call issues I was having, including debug logs, switching provider, sim card etc. At some point I didn’t have patience anymore and requested either the Pixel 8 Pro or a refund.

feef,

For me the camera is important, and the other manufacturers have long caught up with the Pixel. Back in the day, even before the first Pixel (Nexus 5x) there was no competition and Google was a few years ahead, but now it’s just a matter of preference. That, plus the iPhone takes much nicer video. Overall my impression is that the 15 Pro takes slightly better pictures than the 7 Pro, but it’s also 1 year newer so…

My main issue with the 7 Pro was calling. It keeps dropping calls, call quality is much worse than on my other phones (e.g. Pixel 3), I had issues with dual sim where other people couldn’t connect calls with me. I tried everything, switching providers, esim, physical sim, LTE, WLAN calling, created debug logs for the dev team, I even got a replacement unit from Google, but still no fix…
The second reason for switching is that I found the last 2 Android version boring, and most new features are bound to Google’s ecosystem. I also didn’t want to go for another Pixel until they refine their hardware, and also the new price is ridiculous for a Pixel phone imo.

feef,

Nice thanks for the hint, might check it out. Did you also switch recently?

feef,

I did also get a replacement, which had all the same issues.

feef,

For me the features I need aren’t part of aosp. So I’m using closed source now anyways. Sure it’s running on an open source platform, but it seems Google wants Android to be like Apple. Then I might just as well use Apples products as their ecosystem is a lot more refined.

feef,

You do know that Googles apps are all closed source right? Have you ever even tried any aosp rom? Go and have a look. There’s not much there.

feef,

General call quality, calls dropping, people not being able to call me.

feef,

Thanks :) Didn’t want to risk going for another Pixel given the issues I had.

feef,

I always try go see the 2d version, but occasionally I’ll watch a movie in 3d like avatar.

feef,

What the fuck? For real?

feef,

I can not recommend pixels anymore after owning my 7 pro for a year (been using google phones since the nexus 5x). Their own tensor chip is behind the competition by 2 years, but importantly they use a shitty modem which causes issues for a large portion of users.

Also pixels used to have a significantly better camera than others, but I feel that gap is so small now that it doesn’t matter at the high end, they’re trading blows now.
The only edge compared to the competition is getting access to google app features earlier than others, like magic eraser. Ain’t what it used to be anymore…

feef,

I know this is for the 8 pro but man the modem on the 7 pro was such bullsh… All kinds of issues. So bad that even googles support gave in and offered a refund after 1 year.

For a while I was considering the 8 pro, but I think their hardware is not close to par with the others yet and the new price is a joke for a pixel.

Went for something else instead and won’t return to pixel for at least a few years.

feef,

Overheating in summer (this is the soc not the modem but still), calls dropping constantly, bad call quality, with dual sim people couldn’t call me even though I had full reception. I got a replacement unit, created bug reports, changed providers etc… For me it was a piece of shit at the end of the day, and I’m a pixel fan :D (well was)

No issues with my pixel 1 or 3, or the iPhone.

feef,

I had the asus 1005HA seashell in black :)

feef,

This. I use IntelliJ for Java, Kotlin, typescript, Python, HTML etc… it just does everything and does it better than other IDEs.

feef,

Yeah this belongs in its own channel (political memes or something)

Has HP printers always been this bad? (sh.itjust.works)

So my mother recently bought an ET-2800, By HP we had an HP printer before and we got a new one because the old one would not work with my sister’s Windows 11 Laptop. So I had to set it up for my mother, the manual said you can use it without the app. But there was no way to physically do that. Anyway, I downloaded the app on...

feef,

This happens to me all the time, any fixes?

I think it’s because I have Windows and Linux on separate drives.

feef,

Tbf my official YouTube also defaults to some shitty quality even on wifi, on my desktop and tv it always goes to 4k. I’ve also configured it to high picture quality or whatever.

feef,

Android 14 is what the quarterly feature drops should be.

feef,

Would also be interested.

Professors who grade the same exam dozens or hundreds of times probably experience semantic satiation (explained in the body of the post).

Semantic satiation happens when repeating word or a phrase over and over makes it temporarily lose its meaning. This was first written about in the psychological literature by Titchener, in case you search it online and find that name....

feef,

What are you programming to get this lol

feef,

Hmm, been a java dev for over 6 years and have never had that happen :D I can recommend intellisense and Lombok for the boiler plate though.
