Well, really the only way to do that is to try and fix the underlying problem, which is largely the ignorance and or malice of men IRL. That’s a societal issue though, and one that can’t be fixed by Lemmy on Lemmy.

The best method online is just good moderation and not to let their (harmful actors) disingenuous “but mah free speeeccchh” arguments work.

It’s because it’s not actually about any other characteristic than being a woman. One saying I’ve heard is that “women have to work twice as hard as a man and for half the benefit.”

I’ve heard added on for Black women, though I imagine it applies to many groups too to some degree, “A black woman has to work ten times as hard for a tenth the benefit.”

He has such an outrageous amount of wealth that he’ll never be poor. Not even if all his assets are nationalized. He’s probably squirreled away money in as many holes as possible. He will probably never see any proper justice for any of his actions.

Just inherited a bunch of cucumbers from a friend’s garden. I love them just on their own with some salt, and have made many a salad using them. I personally like them on sandwiches or wraps. They add a nice texture and they taste good. I’ll often replace pickles with them, since they are the same thing, just one is pickled.

Moron, imbecile, and dullard came out of eugenics IIRC. Does “lame” have that origin too?

I’ve heard it used to refer to injured or weakened legs, as well as the creature they’re attached to. As in, “the cow was lame because of its injured hoof.” I’ve heard it used to refer to something that is boring or disappointing. “That movie was lame.” or “That was lame.”

I wouldn’t doubt that there is some negative connotation for it though. Terrible people tend to take innocuous words and twist them to suit their schemes.

Reminds me of “Hysteria” which was effectively just the medical excuse to penalize women for getting “uppity.” Nowadays, there’s even one that the police have been using recently called “excited delirium” or something, which is what they try to compel coroners to use when they kill someone through unreasonable levels of force when those people fight for their lives.

I remember seeing an article somewhere about this. Effectively, there really bad diminishing returns with these game graphics. You could triple the detail, but there’s only so much that can fit on the screen, or in your eyes.

And at the same time, they’re bloating many of these AAA games sizes with all manner of garbage too, while simultaneously cutting the corners of what is actually good about them.

BG3 does have a few too many “the ceiling collapses and you all die” moments for my liking, but, for the most part, I do like it. It just came out, so it’s still going to probably get some balancing patches!
