The reason for Android's Notification system being better than iOS, is solely due to the ability to turn off individual aspects of an application's notifications.

Google, the poor multi-billion dollar scrappy startup that maintains Android, made a payment app that has one notification setting, "Google Pay". So all the ads, promotions, everything.

3rd party apps like PhonePe & Paytm have a better system.

How do you manage to maintain this OS?

AliExpress is one of the worst offenders. If you want “useful” notifications (like order updates) you have to put up with their ads and deals bs. I turn them all off.

I humbly think the reasons other people have to print something is none of your business. And your personal story is no one else’s. (Web developer) I distro-hopped for years, after discovering Ubuntu 8.10 (OpenSUSE, Fedora, Linux Mint, Ubuntu Mate,Manjaro, Ubuntu Budgie, etc). Then left Linux altogether for some time. 4 years ago returned to Kubuntu, using only LTS. My best Linux experience ever. Until yesterday, when I installed Debian 12. Hated Gnome before (I don’t remember why), but not anymore, the stability is astounding.

I used to be a huge Plasma evangelist. At first I hated it, the old versions I mean. You just moved the mouse pointer the wrong way and your whole DE was fucked. Too many options and settings. But KDE 5 changed my world. Stable and lighter than Gnome, but still fully configurable. Last night I switched to Debian 12, Gnome. Maybe I’m getting old, but I’m loving it. I don’t tinker with my DEs that much anymore. Just a couple Gnome extensions and I was good to go.

Wow, thank you for your comprehensive reply. I’ve used raw, because the brand recognition, but didn’t know much about this topic. I’ve also used those big ass blunt wraps one time or two. Forgot the brand, but they were ok, I guess (not much of a blunt dude). On the other hand, when I have the prep time (specially on weekends) I choose the bong or those awesome top puffs. But it’s awesome to have a joint handy, I’ve been using reusable glass filter tips for some time.
