Just imagine that a woman has about 10 children, then forced them to have about 5 grandchildren per child. Now she has a gang. And all of that only because she wants to have full control over the neighborhood /s
Android is AOSP, it has no Google at all. Don’t confuse OEM ROMs and Android Open Source Project. As someone with GrapheneOS I can only laugh when someone calls iOS more private
Exactly, but it’s inexcusable when a tech discussion happens. You either know it, or dare to shut up (not you precisely, though). Don’t be a hypocrite, only facts.
Welp, the only and very important is that Linux is precisely like a car. You have to pay attention to it and de-facto make it by yourself. Even, let’s say, Linux Mint installation. Yeah, you kinda have everything, but as time goes you will make it more and more your very own installation at all levels. Mac is kind of evil version of a Unix system. Windows… it’s windows… everything is deadly nailed and cannot be changed, almost
Keeping the Reddit sub makes sense for one reason. There are tons of thread, and answers. When you search something, Reddit comes among the first options. Fedi hosts have different links, hence it’s harder to find.
Like, it always has been that way. It’s a private company with an owner who decides what’s gonna happen. The opinion of masses is only having changed on that from being praised to finally becoming an evil bastion.
Let me explain. When I enable the ratio of votes I can fully understand what’s going on, however when I click it to make a vote it won’t be counted (I checked it via browser). Furthermore, if I use swipe, it works, but opening a post after voting won’t show me my vote, that’s odd. Hopefully, it will be fixed....
uBlock Origin is very powerful thing. It can remove link tracking (I posted links before if you’re interested); it can remove parts of site; it can change JavaScript and its response. Basically, everything is possible.
Exactly! I had checked Lemmy half of a year ago when first time found it, and it was empty. Nowadays, I fully switched. I’m not going back to be there.
“Brave Search users can now search for images and videos without being redirected to Google or Bing, though some advanced search capabilities are still absent.”
Well, usually that happens when Americans come it. They freaking love to add politics to anything. Since they are mostly leftist, they bash anything they don’t like out of the sake of doing so. Brave is great, I have been using its search engine from the beginning and the browser when Blink engine is enforced, and I cannot use Firefox.
I fully agree! I have no idea why would I need to pay $20 for an app when I have a bunch of alternatives that I like even more. Welp, I even like to use a browser instead of an app sometimes. But people are excited and are going to Lemmy, which is a good thing
Well, Reddit is known to have a toxic community. I mean, when someone tells about Reddit irl then they get the “you’re an idiot” look from strangers. Like, we all know how deeply censored Reddit is. Now it’s dead for a slew of people in favor of Lemmy, ain’t it nice?
To be honest, it’s not exactly working. When you use fingerprint randomization on Firefox, it shows that it differs, yet won’t write straightforwardly that you are done with that. Instead, it says I do not have that randomization. It works only with Brave. Personally, I use Brave when Blink engine is required and Firefox as a daily driver.
