tsz,

Because this place sucks if you’re not an edgelord or looking for anime porn.

tsz,

Bullshit. Show me some evidence. I’ve worked with them, never even seen a opportunity for them to work hard.

tsz,

Mine refuses to use ipmi. Also all switches use the same password.

tsz,

Genuinely curious what you did consider.

tsz,

Is that how you think things work?

tsz,

It’s not. It’s miserable to actually use. It’s miserable to manage in a production setting. It’s just not acceptable unless you’re working for yourself.

tsz,

Bud you’re flat out wrong here.

tsz,

Do whatever you want on your own time 🙂

tsz,

How much of a 14 year old do you have to be to take time out of your day to post this shit? Get a fucking life.

tsz,

Dunked on? The fuck kind of idiocracy bullshit is that?

tsz,

I don’t have hate, I’m just sick of seeing what should be seen as a discussion (even if one side is ridiculous/borderline fascist) get debased further by the side with the moral/logical advantage calling basic reasoning and conversation “dunking” on the other side. It’s pathetic. You can do better than to look at political discussions as opportunities for someone to get dunked on. If you can’t, then I’ll just keep dunking on u bruh.

tsz,

What is even slightly funny about it? This is objectively not entertaining; it’s basic, shallow pandering. It’s meaningless, it gives no insight into the topic, and is easy karma farming material, as it polarizes the audience. It’s exactly what made reddit suck, and now the same shitty material is being distilled to even worse trash memes but with less content over-all, leading to way higher visibility than in reddit. It’s trash like this being posted in every fucking community and instance to the point that I can’t block it. I genuinely hate opening lemmy now because I’m sick of the dumb-as-fuck communism memes, the low effort Linux propaganda, and the middle school level random memes. It’s all this is anymore. Content is gone except in reposts to other medium. This will legitimately kill lemmy if there isn’t a change made.

tsz,

Just to follow up, OP has since deleted their account, apparently. Short lived karma farming accounts posting shallow content will legitimately kill lemmy. Feel free to quote me on that.

tsz,

Ok but it’s exactly what I want.

tsz,

I very much disagree, what are you referring to?

tsz,

Idk why the downvotes. It’s seriously off putting to be surrounded by people that clearly have no idea how the world works. It was funny before Trump. Now I take these meme waves with a grain of salt. Idiots in large numbers are dangerous. At least reddit was easy enough to use that the cesspool was diluted with less intense morons.

tsz,

I’m a landlord. Never evicted anyone. It’s a super high risk position to be in. My mortgage isn’t free. The upkeep to my property isn’t free. Time spent vetting renters so my neighbors don’t have to live next to crackheads isn’t free. You pay rent so you don’t have to think about maintenence costs, mortgage, risking allowing others to live in property you spent money you worked for on. All of that and any other subtly is lost on here. Going to work and enjoying it is possible. The world isn’t black and white. Communism doesn’t work on a large scale. Etc.

tsz,

Doesn’t count until apple makes up a word for it.

tsz,

Same here, and honestly the quality is just trash, save for a few decent communities. No one went to reddit for the content. All the value is in the comments, and here there’s either very little interaction, or a worse circle jerk than reddit ever had. There are exceptions, but that’s been my experience.

Perl still relevant in 2023/24?

hi, i was interested if perl is still relevant in this day and age. Perl has been on the decline for a very long time now. Perl 6 (now named 'raku) not being backwards compatible with perl 5 code made the already small perl community even smaller by splitting it in half. A good example is lisp with it’s thousands of different...

tsz,

That is a bizarre opinion.

tsz,

If it is actually a single line ID argue that you do.

tsz,

List comprehension can actually do that, yes. This is one of the scripting aspects of python I use most commonly, and is probably one of its best-known features for creating “one liners”.

tsz,

Python isn’t (generally) compiled. Have you used python before?

tsz,

You flat out haven’t used it.

tsz,

Absolutely bizarrely incorrect take on like everything you’ve stated as though it were fact. This is some classic reddit hole-digging and I’m loving it.

tsz,

I’m no offended. It’s just weird listening to someone make shut up about something they clearly have no experience with outside of memes, while talking like it’s complete fact. It’s a strange thing to do.

tsz,

If you’re using double NAT, you’re doing something wrong. If you want to do it right, stop using double nat. If that doesn’t matter to you, and you’re comfortable supporting a broken-by-design network, do it.

tsz,

If you don’t understand why it’ss broken, I guess that’s on you. If you’re to tbe point op is in terms of their needs, network topology etc and you still don’t understand the fundamentals, what do you expect me to say to resolve that? If you’re OK with supporting your broken, incorrectly configured network, then by all means. If you are not, then expect the answer from those you’re asking for help from to be “fix your shit”. Do not expect anyone to educate you. It’s like arguing with creationists - you picked this dumbass thing to get behind, I’m not on the hook to explain basic logic to you.

tsz,

What a ridiculous answer.

tsz,

I like posts like this because I assume they distill whatever the community is about down to something that makes it really easy to just be like oh yeah fuck that and block the whole thing. How can anyone legitimately enjoy reading this, honestly?

Linux file system developer: we're severely under-resourced (lore.kernel.org)

I’ve said this previously, and I’ll say it again: we’re severely under-resourced. Not just XFS, the whole fsdevel community. As a developer and later a maintainer, I’ve learnt the hard way that there is a very large amount of non-coding work is necessary to build a good filesystem. There’s enough not-really-coding work...

tsz,

Name a popular service that isn’t encrypted but using it might expose you in a legitimate way.

tsz,

Wat betekent moet bier of moet hard?

tsz,

Yeah I’ve just not seen moet alone like that. I like it lol.

tsz,

30 years after I get my first AOL disk, reddit cancels itself and I’m back getting news about Osama’s killer from AOL.

tsz,

Land ownership (in the US) already is public. What problem would this solve? What problems would it create? How would the solutions outweigh the problems?

tsz,

Most scifi movie things you can think of would be on the table.

tsz,

How does lemmy always know to show me the most relevant content?

tsz,

Yeah I have no problem with you being trans, I do have a problem with this goofiness. Good luck, friends.

tsz,

That isn’t at all what this post says.

tsz,

Honestly who fucking cares? Just forget them. That’s how the internet moves on, and that’s the only way. So sick of hearing about reddit.
